Once you finish the bottle of resin you have I would suggest getting deep pour resin. The reason your resin gets all warbley at the top is because the resin has too much thermal mass when it's poured that thick and heats up too much. Pouring non deep pour too thick can also cause bubbles and other imperfections. You can also try doing a couple of layers with the current resin to prevent it from overheating, but you want to pour it while it's still in the jell phase and not fully set. The data sheet for the resin almost certainly has details on how to do layered pours. Granted, deep pour cures slower, and doing layers also takes longer. So maybe you already know that and don't care due to time lol. Amazing build as always. What a cute little fella Steve is.

Recently I helped a friend bake a cake where I got to try out using similar sculpting tools for a set piece. Sitting in dead silence, completely absorbed in it, nothing else on my mind, by the time I need a break - 4 hours had passed. It felt great and was genuinely fun. I used to draw a lot when I was younger and it reminded me of that serene feeling and just how much I've missed it. The whole reason I found myself baking a cake (for the first time I might add) was from stumbling across your channel a few weeks back. Something about your videos just rubs me the right way, the setting, production, watching the process unfold oh and the glamour shots, ouff! It's reignited a spark in me and I want to thank you for that. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing it. Hope you're doing well. On a side note; just curious, do you end up selling your figurines? If yes, at what range?

One somewhat interesting tangent here is that there were actually loads of crocodilians which were less heavily adapted for water than modern ones. Many had longer limbs, some even adapted for running. So as well as being a feraligator, Steve could also be a more-or-less plausible extinct crocodilian.

You don't just "have" talent. You practice and practice until you have skill and talent. Trust me, clay sculpting is a slow and steady road but the payoff is well worth it. Got a friend who has an eye on sweet miniatures but doesn't have the money for it? Well, now they've got a handmade version. Wanted a cool inkwell or bookend? You can have that for the price of some time and effort! I recommend buying silicone shapers, all around shaping tools and ball styluses. Carving tools are nice and all but I find i use them less than the rest. With time and effort you can very much make some sweet sculpts! And if you have acrylic paints then those sculpts can now be in full colour! Go make some sculptures!
