The 3d printed cage is pretty standard for printing delicate parts in MJF or SLS. Both of those processes use fine nylon powder which takes up the entire volume of the printer. You have to get rid of that unused powder after, though most is recycled! That lil cage serves a few clever purposes for smaller parts: to keep small parts from getting lost in the large 'cake' of powder, to give the operator something to hold onto when bead blasting the powder away, to keep fragile or awkward parts from warping or breaking, and in your case, extra protection when shipping!

The thing I really like about Uri is that he leaves in mistakes or rambling and is so damn relatable. Other makers, wood workers, etc have such polished videos and while they're undeniably good at what they do, it makes me feel like they're 100% competent which I know isn't the truth but still end up measuring myself against when I'm in the shop and I make a mistake. Out of the gate Uri calls out a mistake in the cams and rambles about what he's doing drilling holes. Thanks Uri for being so down to Earth in your videos and not cutting out things that others might easily exclude or just make a one off comment about.

That chuck you have there for your lathe is called "Keilstangenfutter" (in german at least, dont know the english name) and it is absolutely super important that the little pin on the face is not sticking out when you start the spindle, otherwise a jaw could fly out of it. Also you should never turn the spindle on when there is nothing clamped in the chuck for the same reason.
