You have to put the fondant on each layer and then stack them 😊 but I loved watching the process 😂 so cute !

Yeah, you gotta frost each layer then lay the frosting on top of each layer before stacking them. The layers don't have to be thick, just thick enough to hold the fondant. Also, maybe for stability, cake boards and rods? Idk I don't do cakes that often.

Happy Birthday Lilia, that poor cake will in time be one happy memory for you. I loved it because I know how valuable it will be to your childhood memories.

You need to frost the cake before you put the fondant on and you do each tier separately and then stack it. Fondant is heavy so draping it over the whole thing like that isn't really going to work. Also it will look better if you make the tiers taller. Like a two tier cake with 3 layers on each or even two layers on each will look a lot more professional than 3 tears with 1 layer making up each, You want the height on each tier

The best part was Chris building and frosting the cake. Happy Birthday Lilia!

I just love how Jess laughs when things are going wrong. Had that been me, I would have exploded in frustration 😬 that speaks volumes about her.

The cake disaster was hilarious 😂 as a baker myself I can say at least you tried and now have a funny memory lmao. Chris has some cake skills though lol

Tips for next time: use a zip lock bag for the chocolate drips. Put the chocolate once melted in the bag and cut the corner. Also make sure you don’t over heat the chocolate because it will clump together and it’s hard to fix. Oh and roll the fondant thinner and ice the cake before putting the fondant on. You really don’t need all the fancy tools for most things

I would even recommend using a condiment bottle for drip rather than a spoon, especially for beginners!

Yes, use the icing as glue on the cake before fondant. 3 if you have either a baster or sandwich bag for the dripping colors for more control.

Ok so if you were going to do fondant you have to do a thin layer of icing on each cake layer first, then fondant, THEN stack the cakes 😁 For your plan B it could have worked well but your coloured icing needed to be thinner and also in a piping bag so it could drip and not glob 🤣 never mind though, it was hilarious to watch and Chris did a great job helping!

It makes me so happy to see how loving and inclusive the younger generations are when it comes to people who are different than they are. I’m 41 and was raised to look at the heart of another when deciding who to invite in my life. I’m a cis gendered straight female (I think I phrased that correctly) and it hurts my heart so much to see people targeted and mistreated just because they’re not a clone copy of those around them. I have hope for those growing up. ❤️

In order to do the fondant you should put it on each layer then stack. And to do the drips you should put the chocolate in a piping bag it will make it easier to drip.

With the fondant dip your fingers in a little bit or water!!! And with the drips use a plastics back as a piping bag or use a piping bag!!!! 😄

And you have to ice the cake first before you put the fondant on and it is easier when you put fondant on each individual layer and then put them on top of each other and the chocolate would be easier to do if you put it in a Ziploc bag or a piping bag then drizzle it on top.
