This game was really neat, I had a great time, playing it, and couldn't agree more that short polished and experiences are better than long and unpolished games, for game jams. Also that game at 9:41 looks really cool, I wonder what kind of epic person made it.

That... that game. It must have taken forever with all the voice lines! And must have been quite exhausting. Well done! Quite a creative and unique game ;)

It said you can summon Vimlark with the five mystical words: “I’m hosting a game jam”
A elementary school friend once said, “ but ImmortalHamster loves assembling dream teams” and I’ve stood by that ever since.
I know this is a odd thing to appreciate but almost all game jams have a rushed menu/select screen but this one felt fleshed out and amazing! And the game was great as always :)
This seems like an interesting mechanic for a game, I like how you guys put a spin on a common idea. I’m gonna play it right now! 😋
This mans moustache is next level
Great job! I made a game with a similar mechanic a few months ago(like you said it is not the most original idea, but it’s fun), and it’s cool to see what we did the same and differently. Our first levels both teach the basic mechanic in almost the same exact way, but your game focuses much more on the puzzle mechanic of making platforms, while mine is more about blocking obstacles. It’s always cool to see how many different ways people can do the same basic concept
Amazing work to you all! It all looked and sounded great! And a really interesting take on the theme! I entered my first jam with a team the other day, and I must say my love for jams is way up, I think working with a team completely transforms how a jam is!
For saying this type of mechanic was used by a few games in the jam this is one of the better examples of it and I love that you added fire and bubble variations of it. I'm glad you enjoyed the jam!
you should do more collabs, seems to work great for you. also you seemed way less stressed.
Another great devlog 👍 I enjoyed playing this game, I must say I was so impressed with the amount of really great games that got submitted in this jam.
I love how Cerberus is on the door -- very cute
The result is reeeeally cool! Nice level design, cool game at the end!
This was a dream come true! U guys are the best team ever! Love from PixelScythe!
The game came together really well, and I enjoyed the breakdown of how you taught the mechanics through your level design. Great video as always!
Your games always have such polish. Makes me go back and do the same with my own project. :)
That was fun to play, you all did a great job!
Loved your game, it was the first one I played and rated, then after I rated i realized it was you that made it, I honestly had no idea you made it before I played it XD I've been really excited for your new video to come out!
bro, love your content man! keep up the great work
This jam was awesome! I enjoyed the game and really liked how polished it was compared to some of the other ones.
Congrats for finishing!
I gotta say, the positive vibes in this video are great for artists trying to get into the groove. I'm a novelist and about to start a multi-hour writing session, and this has me _pumped_ with joy-juice. I love how, with a team of three, you guys were able to just blast out such a polished and, from what it looks like, entertaining game in only, uh, 48 hours was it? It's inspiring, even to me, despite the fact that I work 100% solo-I don't know why it inspires me, admittedly.
Always excited to see a new Vim upload
I felt soooooo smart figuring Level 5's Golden Ghost! Very well done!
Great work, looks amazing!
It was fun watching you collab and see how much progress you were able to make with the added help. This is the first game jam I've seen where past you didn't do something super awful that future you had to deal with so maybe its better for your sanity lol.
Such a cool way to flesh out a common idea
You Must Have 1000 Million Subs Cuz You Are Such An Amazing And Genius Guy I Really Love Your Content And Your Games Don't Listen To People That Says "You Are Just A Designer DUHH" You Are A Designer, A Programmer, Sound Effect And Music Maker And Also A Gamer And Much Much Much More Keep Going We All Love You :)
Yet another great gamejam entry!
Wow this game turned out to be really good and polished!
Reaper Repeat was my favorite game of the jam please make a full version!!
a collab with Whitevault is pretty cool Also got introduced to Drewpy Love every single one of y'all's work
You did, in fact, make me feel smart for that golden ghost XD
Amazing stuff!
Hello Vimlark! Nice video, like always!
Congratulations on 10th Place Vimlark!
Awesome feat!
Ohh I remember playing this, was such a great game.
I don't really see it as a problem, you're literally participating in an activity that ultimately furthers your gamedev knowledge to new heights in different circumstances
The game was fantastic! I got all the golden ghosts in less than 50minutes without watching the tutorial. It's really intuitive and funny, GG!
I loved Reaper Repeat and I also had lots of fun watching you play my game! (Remember level 10?)
Very nice and good looking game. Last level was very hard!
Great video!
When I played level 7, I didn't even know it was some sort of challenge with a timer 'n stuff.
This was fun to play! One bug I found is when you press R to retry the level, the music just stops. It comes back after you finish the level but it's still wierd. I also found out it doesn't always happen, but it happens once in a while.
just finished playing the game, its amazing!! got three golden ghosts and trying for more
First I always heard Whitevault, but at the end it sounded like lightbulb 🤣
I definitely need to learn making pixel art

Awesome game, the concept may have been overused in this Jam but the polish and art really made your game stand out.
This collab is neat
LOL, THAT BASIC GAME IDEA I USED IN LUDUM DARE 47. Just Pog.
Lol, I paused it right before he said "You back?" so it worked out perfectly.
VIMLARK IS ON DA HOOOOUSE!!! 😍😍😍😍😍
Great game nice work
IDK about leaving levels unlocked. I recall in the VimJam you skipped past a couple levels in my game and got completely wrecked lol. My 1 biggest regret from that jam was not locking the levels. :P
Man, I wish if you make that game bigger and turn it into a commercial cuz the gameplay and the design is awesome.
I dont have a problem you have, this is just my second jam this month
How did you make that its way too good for even the humans are playing you should be the next king
yeah, you do a lot of those jams^^
I can’t wait for the gmtk jam
This game looks sick. I really want to participate in game jams but don't have too much time to do them.
if I could give one note, on the last level I discovered that the fire enemies can be jumped on top of and killed, which made it impossible to get the ghost because the fire would never be shot to that side where the boxes are. since your enemies are your main way of interacting with the environment i dont really see why they needed to have mario mechanics, since the only time you'd kill them to stop them from killing you is in the time limit level, where the enemy is out of the way and its more about racing them than beating them outright. just a thought :/
Thank you for inspiration i finally completed a game jam. Probably my worst game yet but probably the one im most proud of.
It feels like the audio is slightly behind the video. I can really feel it when you show yourself walking.
9:43 WOW! Thanks for featuring my game!!

I was one of the first ones to rate this! I also participated in the jam it was the first time that my game didnt turn out to be a total failure lol
I've seen a cool game that also used that your dead body is used as a bridge btw
11:20 i figurer it out!! btw love you’r stach
"Reap, Die, Repeat!" would be also a good name :D
vimlark moustache on fleek
Nice ;D
I just started making my own game using Construct, and the character's a derpy box!
This is very addctive!
The bubble bunny speaks to me. it goes "blorb"
7:46 Bad luck that the bubble JUST happened to pop before touching it.
11:54 at the botem thats me
What are the other death mechanics?
Sucks that you ended up going with the most obvious interpretation though. I feel like 90% of the jam’s submissions were this exact idea. Definitely stands out above the rest though. The visual style and those bubble and fire mechanics are great! My advice: If that’s the first idea that comes to mind, it’s probably also everyone else’s first idea. Write down as many ideas as you can think of, just to get them all out of your head, and then think of a new idea to actually use for the jam.
I know you have 56.2K subs rn but I still feel like that # deserves to be higher. Wait let me double check. Ok good I am subbed
I am sure whether there is a bug or not, but in the first level, after I died a few times, all the controls stopped working and they started working again after I reset the game at the cost of the background music. A similar thing happened in the second level(the background music was present this time) but the controls started working again after I clicked on the scene with my mouse.
I’m looking for someone that uses construct 3. I want to learn something new, and found your channel. Do you do programming on twitch or sth like that so I can watch and get some advice and my progression going?
I discovered you can kill the bubble-enemy on level 5. I'm not sure how I did it, or what purpose that mechanic serves, but it's a thing I did and I feel like talking about it.
Finished the game and it was really fun.The only complaint I have is that Q was sending me directly to the main menu. During a couple of levels I accidentally pressed it because it is so close to the movement keys and lost all my progress.
YAY A NEW VID
uh oh, not long from now he will be able to snap his fingers and get #1 on itch...
Cool!
game jam is jamming
I used this concept too ^^
A twist on this theme: Make it really hard to die, but make it so you have to die to progress - budist simulator ;)
i would also use that you have souls that you use to make new bodies that use the dead
Vimlark: Its better to make a short experience that's polished. *makes 8 levels* Me: Its better to make it long. *makes 5 levels*
Cool
2:10 Reminds me of the game Karoshi on PSP Minis
This is the same idea as a commercial indie game called life goes on.
What app do you use
Lets make a fake jam too trick him into in intervention about his jam problom
