The quest continues. Thanks....
Hi Timothy! Flat Rock is a beautiful, quaint place. The Flat Rock Playhouse is the State Theater of North Carolina. Its current location is built on the rock for which Flat Rock is named. If you had continued going up the road in the direction to the right of the Flat Rock Playhouse, you would have come to the grand entrance of Saluda Cottages, which is a spectacular Second Empire style house that was built in 1836. If you ever get a chance to see this house, you will be amazed at its breathtaking beauty. I enjoyed your walking tour of Flat Rock, Mr. French! Thank you for making this video.

What a perfect ride with you today in beautiful Flat Rock, complete with some soft guitar music playing in the background. As one who lives in the Southeast corner of the NC, I'm not sure I could do this trip, so I thank you for doing it for me. Cheers Timothy.

You’re welcome, Bobby.👍
St John in the Wilderness is an absolutely beautiful property, cemetary and church. Its a must see in my opinion when visiting the area.

Thanks. I will definitely be going back to see it.
During a 6 week period in May & June 2014, I did landscaping/clean-up work at a mansion in East Flat Rock; it was called "The Governors Mansion" because back in the late 1800s & early 1900s the governor(s) of South Carolina would use it as a summer vacation home to beat the heat. I ate lunch at that Wrinkled Egg place a couple of times while on that job.

Interesting. I guess everyone from the low lands, that could, ran for the mountain before we had AC. Thanks for sharing.

@@TimothyFrench Thank you for sharing all of your travels in your quest to visit all of NC's town centers. Watching your videos over the past 6 months has helped in my decision to buy a (used) RV before the end of the year and to spend 2024 living on the road to see if it's something I want to do long-term. Heck, maybe I'll even post up some videos of my own...lol. Safe travels!

@@KG-xt4oq Safe travels to you as well.
So Flat Rock does not really have a down town then?

Not in the way most town centers do. It’s s small and I think they like it that way.
Government buildings are always ugly. Idk why they always insist on doing that. They could have easily stuck with the pretty architecture of the town. But nope.
