I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am also a porn addict. I've never written it anywhere before; I've never told anyone. I have never had the courage to. But listening to this song again, for the first time in years... I find myself writing this. I am 15 years old. I am trying to get over my addiction. This song gives me strength. If anyone out there is struggling with the same thing... it doesn't happen overnight, or maybe not even a month, but it happens in the small choices that you make everyday. Those small choices determine if you get over it or not. Those small choices determine whether you make one small step towards repentance, or if you continue to live your life as you have been. I heard something once that I really liked: "Repentance is trying to be like Jesus." I hope that whoever reads this finds inspiration from it. Even writing this has taught me a litte bit. Try to be more like Jesus, in the small everyday choices you make. It may take a while, but they add up.

Right. the choices we make everyday make us that we are on Lord's side, serving Lord or serving satan. These things are shown through our acts,choices. My testimony is this that we can overcome anything with repentence. Nothing is impossible if we give First preference to Lord Jesus only. He is great help in need. only key to overcome is prayer and Word of Lord Br.My Experience. May God lead you and help you. God bless you little Brother.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I promise you that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. It is worth every effort, I promise you and if you make it out and give all of your sins unto Christ, you will be a new man, and your will and determination will have been forged in the trial of affliction and crafted by the Savior himself. This struggle will likely be a struggle for you for the rest of your life, but I promise you it is worth everything to become pure and clean once again. But do not try to walk this rode alone, it is not worth it, and you will not make it unless you walk it with the Savior, please reach out to Him and your bishop and tell those you love and it is my prayer that they will lovingly support you and love as Jesus Christ does. Please reach out to them. Please never forget that you are loved.

Keep trying. Once you are stuck its very difficult to get out. distractions, pray always, read scriptures, I seriously don’t know I haven’t figured it out yet.

I've never heard this song before, but it touched my soul and brought me to tears. I'm all alone, no friends, no one in my life. I'm trying to get my life back. I was homeless for over four years. I was finally able to find a subsidized apartment. I have a bed and that's about all. I love Jesus's examples for us. I love the New Testament. I try to be a good Christian, but since I'm so poor and in such bad health, I don't often find any ways to show who I am, who I'm trying to be, to anyone. This song went straight to my heart and I felt love.

Congratulations on finding a home, I've been on the streets and a home is such a blessing. I pray you recover good health and a supportive community around you. Often the most truthful and hurt people are alone, but there are good people in the world, it just finding them. I've been alone for a long time and the Mormon or LDS church is the best place to start, they are literally rehabilitating myself and children to rejoin society. I pray you find peace, love and all you need for this life🙏🙏🙏

My counselor at FSY shared this video with our company at the end of the week and it really brought me to tears, it made me realize exactly how much love there was that week. My faith was so weak and small before I went to Fsy, I thought I would just be on my phone minding my business but the spirit was so strong and it made me realize how much happiness the church has brought me.

For years, I thought God loved everyone except me. Then I heard this song for the first time, at FSY. My entire perspective about the gospel changed. And for the first time, I felt Heavenly Father’s love for me, and for all of his children. Since then, I have strived to help others feel the love that every member of the Godhead has for them.

I just got into a heated dispute with my brother, and I know that I should have chosen better words even though I felt wronged. My soul was not happy and did two strengthen my bond with the spirit. I had prayed and asked for forgiveness, I asked Our Father in heaven to help remove the spirit of contention from my home. I felt guided to listen to something from when we were younger, the messages in children's hymns are so sweet and so simple to understand. This song " I'm trying to be like Jesus" came to mind and this is the one that had the most views so I thought that it would be a great thing for me and honestly it has helped to soften my heart. Thank you for singing this. What a beautiful voice.

To all non-members loving this song: we love that you love it and no we dont care that you are not a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. You are loved be you a atheist, catholic, Muslim, satanist, I really dont care. I care that you feel love from others and give it. And that's what this song is about. 🥰

I love the way this video was shot. Emily's singing of this children's song is simple and humble, and it seems that no one is listening. But she keeps singing. Then gradually the patrons seem to notice the song, they feel something, and pay attention briefly to the words. Touched ever so gently, they then go back to what they were doing. Lots of parallels there! This was really well done, and I loved it.

Jesus Christ is the First Born Son of God, who died, sinless, willingly, for the sins of All mankind. At minimum, you could refrain from minimizing his position by refusing to capitalize Prophet-- at bare minimum...

At the least, we Christians can show respect for those who believe differently than we do. I think it's wonderful that the original poster still respects Jesus despite being from a different religion. Please don't get upset because they show respect in a different way than you do. God is love. :)

I saw this in between the General Conference sessions today and LOVED it. How inspiring it should be to all people in the world, Christian or not! If all lived by this standard, there would be peace in the world. I had to look this up here on KZread to see it again and cry my eyes out, and I will be playing it tomorrow during family time and hot chocolate!

I'm either Mormon or non-Mormon (some people say it's both), and I love this video! I love to sing along. To try to combine a harmony with her melody. I feel God helping me where I falter when I sing. I feel grateful that He has helped me and will continue to do so as I love His children and myself. Too often I tend to denigrate my value through depressing thoughts and actions. I let the stress get to me. But taking time to sing hymns helps so much! Life may tend to be bumpy, but it makes it much smoother!

I have made this my theme song for the year. I have made a true conscientious decision to be a better me by the end of the year, physically, mentally and spiritually. I listen to this over and over again when I find myself in a not so good place. It has truly helped me to make better decisions and I truly think I will be a better person by years end.

My companion and I would share this video all the time with people on the street or on the doorstep on our mission in Dallas, Texas. It was amazing to see how the music would soften the hearts of people who would have originally rejected our message.

Just a moment of contemplation can shift our day. Distractions everywhere that divert us from the simplicity and power of Christ's light in our everyday lives. Emily Brown blessed my day with her sweet praise. I'm trying to be like Jesus...that's a lofty endeavor and an eternal pursuit.

I feel very good when I heard his name, JESUS, He loves me, he can change my life, I love to be a member of his church, I´m not a perfect , even I remember when the missionaries taugh me, with teh passing of the years I served as missionary too, now I´m married I have three kids and eternal family. I also sang this for a church choral and the way Emily sang it inspired a special feeling towards this hymn - there are so many and this one stands out with a definition.

We aren’t Mormons. We are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We don’t worship Mormon or take his name upon us. We worship Jesus Christ.

I have been trying to memorize this song. I have it printed off in my pocket. Be kind and gentle in deed and in thought. For these are the things Jesus taught. I love and I catch the cracking of her voice at the start as she is very touched and emotion. Its very genuine. I feel what she feels and thats the spirit of our Savior. That's what makes the song so powerful and touching for me. I noticed she sings the second verse first. I am trying to love my neighbor. I am learning to serve my friend. I look forward to the day of gladness when Jesus will come again.

I wish you much success. When I was a young performer trying to do gospel, I got told something I still hear once in a while - "You're a Mormon, you aren't a Christian." I get a little jealous of the LDS performers making such inroads into religious music, but I am so excited to see more LDS performers getting play time and attention. These days, I perform exclusively in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Great job

This is so amazing. This reminds me of how powerful we are especially when we are out in public. Being a good example, and being kind to everyone, can really have a huge impact on people around us. That is why it is important to always have the mission statement of "I am going to make someone happy today".

I feel the Spirit so strong every time I watch this and at times cannot hold back the tears. Thank your Emily.
