Hey Dominique The Professional truck driver. I watch your videos for some time now, I like it when you and your old man or at the auctions enjoy those. But to the point don't be so hard on yourself I understand how you feel your young but you're a seasoned driver. We're all only human we make mistakes and that's a given, and you learn from it. And don't be ashamed of what you done but back into the vehicle, I still have the utmost respect for you as a damn good truck driver. As a Colorado log hauler I can relate. I've had my share of accidents and screw-ups, even a layover turnover, felt so bad I just want to crawl in a hole and hide haha LOL. I got a lot of respect for you and the owner-operator It's A Hard Road and you seem to be making it work. And you no injury or death in your accident that's a good outcome hang in there and the best of luck looking forward to more videos God bless you and yours

Hey you know I don't live in America, I am in the UK, I used to own an old ford fiesta mark 6 Zetec from 2003, was my first car and I loved it to bits, I remember pulling into the petrol station one day to buy fuel, so I filled up and noticed someone had parked in front of me in the first pump bay, someone comes in behind me a little close and is waiting to fill up, I could have waited for the car to go in front as it was a tight exit to turn my front wheels at full lock, but I didn't and I was a little stressed out about me being boxed in, I didn't think really, tried to edge out and I caught the cars back bumper with my front bumper, I felt such an idiot and I felt so bad, I said I am so sorry for doing that do you want my insurance details, I got out and looked and said I haven't done anything else have I? Oh why did I do that, he could see I was so upset and that I had done more damage to my front bumper instead of his back one, he said as you are such a nice person and you didn't mean to do this etc, I think a bit of T-cut should get rid of that little scratch, I said are you sure about this, he said yes it is fine you go on ahead, I got in and waved to him with a down look on my face, I felt relieved but still felt so down, you are right these things happen, we aren't perfect and even though it was a few years ago now and I have a new car, I still managed to curb my lovely penta wheel 😣 on my new car, the fact that you delt with it calmly and was willing to help out shows pure honestly, a really good person and a really good driver, we learn but it happens, you are right and I completely agree no one can go about their life not doing something to their vehicle, or other people's vehicles by accident, but that fact we deal with it and are willing to help, makes all that important difference, I can relate to you I really can. Though I never did get rid of that mark on the side of the bumper haha, but it was a reminder to me to wait next time if it's tight 🤣 or get out and look my dad would say. Thank you for sharing, and I am always willing to share too.

@@DauminiqueTheDumpTruckDriver In the larger City near me (Calgary) People hit Pedestrians and leave, what you did is no big deal. You owned up to your mistake. You are fine. A Driver hit my Brother and left too. My Brother hauls a Super-B full of Butane that is used to thin the oil down in the Pipeline going south, so that could of really been bad. You are far from an idiot driver. You are a professional from what I’ve seen over the years. My father had about 5 Million Accident Free Miles when he passed away in Jan of 2020. 😢 The worst Accident he had before he was at the Company he was at when he passed was pretty bad. When he first started trucking some guy pulled into a Service Station to get Gas and casually mentioned to the Clerk he was going to commit Suicide. My dad was coming into town fully loaded with Cattle and the Guy pulled out from the Service Station right in front of my Dad. My Dad T-Boned his Car and Rolled I guess there were Cattle everywhere. I wish People wouldn’t involve other People if they are going to do things. Killing that Man was with my Father his whole life.

When I was training for LTL city work my trainer shared the most important words of wisdom that I think we all need to hear or read. He told me "don't let all these other people that don't have a clue rush you into making a costly mistake they can wait you have a job to do." He's very right, most of the people in cars couldn't care less about being in your way when your making turns or trying to get out of a lot. So why should I care about their brief inconvenience while I'm trying to do my job and do it safely.

It’s tough to keep your focus when in a difficult situation. Years back my grandpa told me that, not just in trucking but, in life there will be “bumps” along the way and we have to take them and learn from those experiences how to avoid them on the next trip. He also said the more that I dwell on the mistakes I make that it allows for more to be made. Good for you by handling this situation by keeping honest with yourself. Nowadays most people would’ve tried to lie their way out of this had they been the one responsible for the damage. 👏👏

I have traveled the streets of Seattle with a 45 ft Prevost charter bus many, many times. And I’m from Green Bay, Wisconsin. Let me tell you it’s not easy at all. You did a very truthful, masterful job of telling about your accident, and I can tell exactly how you felt. Keep up your excellent videos, Thanks, Jim Young

Thank you for sharing it takes a lot of courage to share something like that. And you are not alone. It's been awhile for me but I got turned around in Chicago after only driving for a couple of months on my own. Missed my turn and tried to go around the block but ended up hitting a fire hydrant. Messed up situation on my part.

We, another driver and I were following directions from a contractor 😊 to a jobsite and he lost the "" coin toss"" and went in first. Took down phone lines and cable TV wires. I followed the same route and had the contractor come out with a 12 ft 2x4 to lift up the wires. We have 53 ft trailers and deliver Sonotubes to job sites. This story took place in Queens NY/ NYC area. When I started down the street? All kinds of irate people came out of their homes. Remember, I was the second truck! Happy trails and safe travels!

Sweetie That is why you pay insurance. You are being way to hard on yourself! If that's your first accident you have a good record going!!! It's called an accident and you didn't hurt anyone you damaged a pickup that can be repaired. Chin up and Keep on trucking!!!

My heart goes out to you for feeling so bad about a minor accident. Not easy maneuvering a truck that size through a residential area, much less with a trailer attached. With the weight you were carrying you couldn’t have felt the hit to the pickup! I love watching your videos, You do an awesome job!

That's why they are called "accidents". They are not meant to happen, they just do and you are not perfect and we all have done them. I thought when you started to talk that perhaps you ran over a school bus loaded with kids!!!! I just stumbled across your channel tonight and I'm impressed. When I see a gal driving a rig, that impresses me so thanks. I've done a fair amount of truck driving over the years but I was also a law enforcement officer for 30 years and the fact you made it right, came forward, admitted to you error, speaks volumes. Don't let this one incident control who you really are. I consider you a professional and keep up the great work.

Dauminique you are human and that fact inherently means you will make mistakes. Beating yourself up like this is not healthy. You admitted to it, owned up to it, Paid for it. You have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of, NOTHING. Your husband and child/children should have nothing but pride in you and strive to be just like you

Dauminique, I drove trucks when I was a telephone lineman etc. This included work vans all the way up to huge boom trucks. My employer had a policy of do anything you can to NOT backup. But, in your job you back up all the time; every time you dump (with or without trailer) and if this is your only accident backing you are a good driver in my opinion. Actually I'm awestruck at how well you do backing and how you jackknife the trailer to dump the truck. If you didn't feel responsible you would have probably had many more scrapes and tried to escape responsibility. Take pride in how well you do.

Dominique your honesty says a lot about your character willing to admit to your mistakes and learning from it shows more responsibility and respectability. Your conscience is clear! One time I had some work done at my place that was quite expensive, I paid the person and he took my check put it in his pocket and marked my bill paid in full, a few weeks later I had realized I had shorted him $5000,00. I called him up to make sure his books balanced (not telling him the amount) reflected the difference he said yes he was short that amount. I immediately wrote him a check for the shortfall because I knew I would not live with myself knowing that I had done that. My conscience is clear!

And the fact that you cared enough to go public with your mistake means you are a person of integrity and honor. You owned up to your mistake and made it right with the guy and you've learned from the incident. Let it go and move on. Sadly, your "road integrity" is all too rare. 💖👍👍

Dauminique, I know this incident weighed heavy on your heart. There is no truck driver who hasn't made mistakes. And yes there is something new to learn all the time. The driver who says they know everything is the driver who you will not learn anything from. Proud of your honesty and the way you presented the story. Good luck and safe travels.🥰🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️
