Quick tip , double clamp all your intake tube hoses . They do snap from time to time . Always doubled mine after a couple had failed . Good luck to you & I don’t miss being an owner/operator.
It's GREAT that your husband is so efficient at fixing problems with your truck.
I found over the years if you get a over heating vehicle, you can turn your heating on to hot then open your windows. The temperature will drop, it's not a fix but it drops the temperature.
I respect you for that. I did a drive four hours each way, got home went straight to sleep. I wasn't sleep a hole hour and she woke me up I wasn't pleasant

First, I have to say I love your channel. Women in trucking although not uncommon shows a different side of female fortitude. I'm glad you are one of those. I also love the images of your child's seat in the shotgun position. I know he, Remi, is the light of your life and I bet he loves to ride in the truck with Mom. :) :) The sight of the dump truck with an equally impressive dump trailer is something that is very uncommon in Georgia, where I live. We normally see long dump triple axle trucks coming out of the granite quarry nearby. I look forward to watching your future vids and also looking back at previous vids. Thanks for all the work you put into creating these vids for us.
At least it's a rad and not some major engine issue...thankfully your other half can get it fixed up ASAP which is awesome. Not having to pay big bucks at a shop has got to be helping you out there.

Well done for spotting the over heating and having the presence of mind to pull over and check it out, a radiator's a lot cheaper than a engine rebuild.

O-H-I-O Porter greetings 🇺🇸 You made it to a safe & big enough place to pull over! It’s always nice when other drivers will check on you. What I’ve seen so far is that you guys make a good team & show respect for each other. I’m sure he would’ve come right to your aid otherwise. I enjoy each episode I see of your stuff. That’s teamwork! My brother & I would always support each other & would do what it took to get the other back on the road. He taught me quite a bit & was a great trucker! I still stop to help or check on truckers when I see them on the road. It’s the RIGHT THING to do. Down for the weekend & ready for work on Monday…Great stuff! Blessings!🥰😎✌️

hello dauminique it's is randy and i like yours video is cool thanks friends randy
Here's where a little engine/mechanical savvy could often save half the day. Recognizing radiator temp differential is impressive, great start! Simple things 1st: is coolant topped up and what can I use to get by if not? (distilled water if possible or coolant bottles onboard?... but I'd pore Gatorade or pee in radiator if needed, flush it later) Can I mechanically safely drive 10 or 15 minutes between cooling down to get it to a better place? Good oil temp gage to make sure not thermally damaging engine?
Just started watching your videos recently and I love them. I have a cousin Her and her late husband ran dump trucks here in colorado. I think they had 3 trucks. Her husband and her oldest son. Ran dump trucks
Thank you for the videos
Ahh man i was routing for it to be a stuck thermostat that sucks but glad its fixed.
When you have radiator issues if you put the cap back on only one click and not fully tight it won’t leak much coolant or as fast
Bobby is a real helpful guy and a like the guitar surf music 😊
Hart Radiator in Longview Wa dose a excellent job rebuilding radiators. Doug adds extra support brackets for the abuse we put are dumper trucks threw, never had one fail from him😎🍩🤙🏻
Good job Bobby I'm glad you do support your wife enter aspirations of being an owner of a dump truck. You have to figure with all the dirt and grime that comes with the moving dirt and all the stresses that it puts on the radiator in the cooling system as well as the mechanical failures as well on the trucks we forget the trucks are machines they do break down. Awesome job do your kids as well as your husband Bobby

Full on ,, way ta go new = good deal
Yeah the radiator in the 07 T800 dump in our fleet decided to sh*t the bed 2 months ago we ended up getting a new one, it was fine one day the next day it wasn't. The truck was in the repair shop getting certified so they chucked a new rad into it. The truck goes into some sh*tty places the truck is twisting like a cork screw the radiator cracked.
This all makes perfect sense to me except for keeping the old leaky radiator lying about; I'd have either chopped it in as an exchange against the new one or sent it away for reconditioning straight off (based on UK market).

As long as no combustion gas is leaking into cooling systems .alls we’ll double your temp . That’s what it is here 110-112+. Stay cool
So…. There you are on the side of the road out of circulation. And while you’re at it get under there and pressure wash everything so that you can see what’s what when you need to.
I hope your using ethylene glycol instead of OAT coolant. We tried using the OAT coolant on some of our pre DPF engines and it started eating away at the solder and the gaskets of the radiators and valves on the engine. Found it to be corrosive rather than a protective component for cooling. We bought some 2017 Petes that came with the red OAT coolant so we’ll continue to use it in those trucks until the warranties are expired but it still damaged the head gasket on the compressor. Not a fan of OAT coolant. Best of luck.
@soganoflarider
Жыл бұрын
Propylene glycol is what some mega’s run. Non-corrosive and environmentally friendly. I recently had an inframe rebuild done on my ‘17 579 and put it in. The ONLY downside is that it’s not easily available everywhere.
@refusemech
Жыл бұрын
I have to make an update on my comment. The red OAT coolant is ethylene glycol but I found it to be corrosive on the older trucks and copper radiators and tank gaskets. We switched to a blue EG coolant after replacing radiators that were only two years old. I noticed when this red stuff dries it crystallizes like DEF. Not so environmentally friendly if you ask me.
Just another reason I called my '74 KW W-900 single screw day-cab w/4 bagger (air shocks) on the drive axle w/air dump switch so I could get under a belly dump set [they don't have landing gear, just close the gates and place some dunnage (4x4's, 6x6's and 3 by heavy's under it and unhook) that had been parked by someone that had 22" rims and not 24.5's], adjustable 2 bagger w/gage on the steer axle, small cam 400 Cummins and an Eaton-Fuller Road Ranger 13 speed that I used as a Puller for double bottoms, "A hole in the road I poured money into". But, trust me on this, There is nothing that can replace the pride of ownership. (Something, apparently Lord Gavin is Hell bent on eliminating with Calipornia's latest series of onerous rules and regulations on big rigs. Instead of "Let them eat cake", its, "Let them go to work for a big company" - like the rest of the peons implied. Look for this to come to your state and then the rest of the nation next. "Too much Schedule-C tax deductin' amongst the independent minded masses a'goin on there".) P.S.: Old truckers never die, we just grab another gear. :)😊
Hopefully you changed the thermostats since you put in the new radiator. ?
