That's true. The only possible way I'm thinking around this is that if they produce more and more games on an 'edition' basis. But then again, you'd need money to make them and market them which is what you need from the beginning so, it is tough

Where did you get million units from? According to their financials they are making around 20k profit.

This is probably my absolute favourite game, and I feel like it's done better than the Dragons predicted, but I don't know how much money it's actually made.

According to their accounts it's been moderately successful, they're making some money but an investor would have been years waiting for a return at 15% for £50k. The business is worth ~£200k.

My first thought was the TV programme Only Connect hosted by Victoria Coren Mitchell which has been airing since 2008 according to Wikipedia. This episode of Dragon's Den aired in 2014. So I doubt their TV deal went through cause a TV programme like that literally already existed. So these guys just took Only Connect, made it a bit easier and made it into a board/card game. Which honestly sounds like a brilliant idea, cause Only Connect is actually really fun.

@@kronic0961 The comparison was nonsensical though, because the problem for Who Wants to be a Millionaire was that it aspired to give away a ton of money, up to a million pounds. Try pitching this concept to a production company and see where that gets you. That's an extravagant amount of risk. The show had to be immensely popular in order to succeed. Luckily for the producers, it was. Btw, there was a game show called The Link which was based on their game. They weren't lying.

They didn’t defend themselves very well 😢 the toys and games market is huge and peters game was pretty average hence why it didn’t go well! I’m glad to see this selling.

Reminds me of a similar game when Peter (I think it was) said they’d invented a game that doesn’t need the game. You could just think of a link, then 4 answers then 4 questions. Easy

it's selling in all major retailers, so I asume they are doing well. This is why they shouldn't just blindly listened to Peter, clearly his game just sucked

Great game, could've haggled ol' Duncan if they'd said their greatest percentage was 45%, then met in the middle. Fair play to holding down, I've actually played this game before realising it was a DD pitch - and it was fun. Only question is did Victoria Cohen Mitchell get there first with Only Connect? Who's ripping off who? Good stuff.

Duncan knew full well they wouldn’t accept, he didn’t want to invest, it’s amazing what they demand from people, the money isn’t ever going to be given over regardless of the deal, I know from working around wealthy people they never spend anything, they will almost always find a way to do things for free, or make someone foot the bill.

Tbh I think 40% was a very fair valuation for Duncan. If it was me, I’d like to have seen their current shareholder structure and asked for 40-49%. I’d want a partnership in that type of investment personally

Assuming you Googled "Linkee game sales"..? If so, then maybe it'd help also clicking the links you're reading rather than just the preview. If you had, the article specifically states "And Trunki, a sit-on wheelie suitcase for children invented by Rob Law, was also dismissed, yet has now had sales of more than £100 million." which adds a bit of context to the "...yet has now had sales of more than £100 million." which is shown on the preview.

Jenny invested 12 times in her 2 years on the show, more than any of the other 2 year dragons (Nick 8, Hilary 8, Richard 7, Sarah 5, Kelly 5, Rachel 5, Piers 4, and Doug 2). Jenny invested more times than Richard and Piers combined, more times than Peter (9) in the two years they were on together, and more than any two years of Theo, Duncan, or James you choose to look at.
