Although it's clear Simon's jealous, he's also missing the point. A lot of people said what Gary said on the Monday morning, but Gary said it first, the Sunday evening before, just after a match and while still at the grounds. Everything he said then - totally extemporaneously - was his initial, visceral reaction - and really not much more was added after that, either on the Monday morning or for the rest of the week, until it collapsed.

Simon you get to sit back there and articulate your views/opinions… and some, maybe most but not all of the time you are briefed in advance or even pre mediate the dynamics of the topics - so you can prepare. Gary here was an example of a natural reactionary opinion - he covered the essence of the negative implications the SL would bring pretty instantly. On the spot if you like. He really highlighted the value of the history and support of clubs and also the negative pitfalls it would have on the game. I would add that your contribution would be ‘well if clubs want to be successful and buy the best players and compete for the biggest trophies - they need investors. They didn’t have a problem when they bought such and such, everything was ok then… but now they want to do something that doesn’t suit their narrative.. all of a sudden all is forgotten….’ - you catch my drift? Which I may add again - the same round-a-bout formula you apply to every argument or enlightening point you project - which wins and pulls the eyes over most but actually you just start from the beginning of the situation then to the end and ignore the in between like an American high school debating member. Good job G. Nev!!!

Until football gets trsnfer caps , Salary caps etc . I wouldn't mind ESL happening.. Just look at the past 2 years , for example Tottenham have made losses of more than £100m whilst the players are getting Wealthier and the players didn't want paycuts, but no one criticises the players because the owners are always the greedy ones. Owners of this football clubs don't need money from their clubs but all they want is the football environment to be self sustainable and for their clubs to be able to be competitive without spending their own Hard earned money on players like the owner of Spurs, I respect that man. Eg look at Derby their Owner lost £200m of his own money but people still call him selfish for leaving the Club.. That's how ungrateful fans are whlist praising the players for taking out millions each year out of the football club whilst it goes bust.
