Finally left the church in 2021 and it's incredible how perspective changes. When I was a Mormon, I resisted any suggestion that the church wasn't true. Now I look at things people in the church say and wonder "How did I ever believe in any of this?" It truly does make us blind

God bless you. Miitz. I left the Mormon church a number of years ago. I rwas born again and live in God's will with prayer, Bible study and Great Glorious Gratitude for God's mercy and forgiveness. Dai!y he gives me hope and faith, and mercifully grants me salvation in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Your story deeply touched my heart and actually gives me hope for the Mormon friends I left behind. My daily prayer is to grow closer to him, to develop a deeper relationship.

Left the Mormon church after 20 years. Missed so much of the word of God as this only came round in bible study every 4 years as "other scriptures" were being taught. Been out and saved since 2009 now baptised in 2010. Pray for Mormons

Your story is so inspiring. When I left Mormonism 2 years after I'd joined, and been married in the temple, because I wanted a real relationship with Christ and wanted to actually believe the whole Bible, my husband just immediately left me and his whole family cut me off immediately. I prayed for a story like yours, but I know God has a plan when challenges like these occur! God bless you for your strength throughout your journey and your ability to share your powerful story.

Having ur entire belief system crumble and to still come out with true luv for Jesus and understand his sacrifice for us is amazing. I'm born again. My wife and I stopped at Nauvoo, Ill this past summer. The LDS owns a lot of property there and there is also a Temple. We took a horse-drawn wagon ride around the property and a lovely Morman girl was our host. She was so enthused about her LDS faith. Then we took an ox-drawn ride and had the same experience. These girls were on their 2-year mission. I felt very bad for them. We enjoyed our stop at Nauvoo, but left a bit saddened. The Morman church has done such a good job indoctrinating its members. Coming out of Mormonism must be very rare and difficult. Only the Holy Spirit can change a heart.

Thank you so much Lynn, Micheal! I spent 50 years as a Mormon but left the Mormon Church to become "Christian". If you understand the Bible then you understand the many, many problems of doctrine of the Church that directly contradicts the teachings of the New Testament. I taught Seminary, was Primary President, Young Woman's President, and Sunday School teacher many times. I have a degree in History. The LDS Church whitewashes it's history. Joseph Smith killed three people the day he was "martyred". So many other problems. My grandmother was a Barlow from the polygamous Barlow group in Utah that claimed to have the blessing of the apostles even after the Manifesto. She escaped in the early 1940's when her father tried to marry her off to a much older man. Originally polygamy didn't bother me so much because the church always pointed to the Old Testament. The problem is that the more I learned about how Joseph Smith actually lived ... polyandry, it wasn't polygamy at all, I felt very deceived. Also, polygamy is something that was practiced but it was never of the Lord. It actually divided families and drove the wedge in the Kingdom of Judah. A man and a woman becoming "one flesh" never envisions polygamy, which is clearly more than one flesh. So many other things I could say here. I am so grateful that I don't need a church to be saved by Jesus. I need a Church to stay strong in the gospel... but not to be saved. Jesus, and only Jesus, does that.

I grew up as a Mormon. I hardly remember reading from the Bible. Most of our readings were from the book of mormon. I felt trapped in that church and totally brainwashed. When I was a teenager I was then forced to go by my mother after I told her I did not want to be a Mormon any longer which made me hate it even more. The more I learn about the church as I grow up the happier I am that I am no longer a part of it. I feel more at peace now than I ever did as a Mormon.

I was raised Lutheran and stayed in the church until I was about 16..My friends in High School were going to the Baptist Church and I went to all the events and became a Baptist. Then my husband that man I loved said he couldn't marry me unless I became Mormon. I did after I took the 6 lessons... I was lied too, deceived, They never told me that they did not believe in the same God, the same Jesus, or Spirit... I stayed married for 33 years.. raised three kids Mormon.. two were married in the temples.. So, I think I know Mormonism. Young proclaimed that Adam was Michael the Archangel, and that he was also the Ancient of Days. Young went on to conclude that Adam was, in fact, "our Father and our God, and the only God with whom we have to do." In this message, Mormonism's second president explained that Eve was only one of Adam's wives and that Jesus Christ "was not begotten by the Holy Ghost." Instead, Young said, He "was begotten in the flesh by the same character that was in the garden of Eden, and who is our Father in Heaven." Mormons teach that Jesus Christ, suffered for sin in the Garden of Gethsemane when He sweated "as it were" great drops of blood. Mormons totally avoid the Biblical teaching of Christ atonement for sin being accomplished on the Cross. However, the Bible clearly teaches that the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ was done on the cross. According to LDS popular LDS thought, Jesus married several of the Marys of the New Testament. Orson Hyde, the Mormon Apostle said, "We say it was Jesus Christ who was married in the marriage of Cana of Galilee." (Journal of Discourses ) A LDS Book. “If they want a beardless boy to whip all the world, I will get on the top of the mountain and crow like a rooster. I shall always beat them…. I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him, but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet.” (Journal of Discourses vol. 6, pp. 408-9) When I left the church after my husband died.. I said I wanted my records removed and it took an act of congress... It meant the possibility of losing my children and grandchildren.. and I did, But, I had to get right with God... I rejoined the Lutheran Church MS- with reaffirmation of my Baptism and a reaffirmation of my Conformation I couldn't be happier or more at Peace..

Powerful breakthrough! I was a Mormon from age 8 because I asked to know Jesus & all my family knew was Mormonism because they’ll come to your house & unbelievers wouldn’t need to go into the church “easy way out” long story short I wanted to know God sooo much & be closer to Him. Till age 17 & I prayed if I should be a missionary because everyone else is pushing me that way. & God loves me so much He Lead me to know in my heart this is not the “true church” & The Book of Mormon is false teachings. I felt Jesus’ Love & Grace almost 3 years ago. & Now I share my story because of my loving relationship & walk with Christ. & I’ve been blessed tremendously being in community with Christian families & friends. Praying for my family & slowly I’m hoping they open their eyes to being chained & held captive in a religion. Walking with the Lord brings so much comfort & joy in my heart. Continuously being humble & obedient to share my revelation & life transformation with many people. Because I was once blinded, but now I see through Christ pure life, example & Godly Character. Thank you for sharing, Amen!

This is regarding Mitz Nelson, it was a pleasure listening to her tell about her first experience in the Christian Church and how her husband managed to get her to try to understand and go. Never being a Morman myself self I learned several things from listening to her and not having much of a family of my own literally, they have passed away. Living alone 25+ years after my div. it is a lonely world. Mitz Nelson, not only made my eyes tear up, but she also made me laugh out loud. She has a wonderful way of talking about her conversion to Christ, she's funny and at times very serious. God bless her for telling her story about her life and God to bless you Aaron Shafovaloff.

@3Deditor I was pointing out the difference in our interpretation of what a testimony is. To a mormon, a testimony is a spiritual witness given by the Holy Ghost. In this ladies testimony she said she never had that. The foundation of a testimony is the knowledge that Heavenly Father lives and loves His children; that Jesus Christ lives, that He is the Son of God and that He carried out the infinite Atonement. Her testimony was more about her strained relationships etc as I prev. mentioned.

What I love about social media is the lasting effect of a testimony! I have a friend who's a Mormon and after some study on Mormonism I too have seen the common thread of all cults and religions vs. Biblical Christianity- namely the removal of and substitution of WORKS for GRACE. So I appreciated your mention of this. I think it's important too to remember as a side issue all the relationships people build in churches that are lost due to our newfound understanding of God's Word the Bible.

I respect your decision but I felt I needed to comment on the Jesus thing you were talking about. I go to seminary every morning and church every Sunday and Christ is the fundamental part of every lesson, the cornerstone our religion, and it really makes me sad you think otherwise. I wish you the best.

I've always wondered why Joseph Smith's writings were done in flawed Elizabethan English. Was he mimicking the King James Version of the bible?

Matthew 22:30 “For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.” This Contradicts sealing and becoming gods in one scripture!

I was a Christian then a Mormon and now I'm a Christian again. I got caught up in it when I was 16 (baptized at 18) because of the families are forever deal. I needed that so bad, I could taste it. The only thing is, after I was baptized, I began looking into the church and found out stuff that the Missionaries neglected to tell me, (Cont.)

"This is exactly what Satan wants, to distract us from what really matters." --- But moralism is *not* what ultimately matters. Christ is what ultimately matters. The gospel is what ultimately matters. And the gospel is not "Be good." The gospel is, "You are BAD, and Jesus is good. He died on the cross for you. Believe in his person, in his promises, and pour out your life for him. His word. His truth. And THEN be good." Jesus said, "Watch out for false prophets." Does *that* also matter? Yes.
