"Can we just not associate guilt with food?" I'd toast to that. Basically why you're one of the few What I Eat In A Day type videos I will watch.

Yes! I was like, "hallelujah!" I instantly like someone when they say this.
Flavor hack (especially for pasta stuff)- adding the oils that come with sun dried tomatoes or artichoke helps bring everything together 🧡 so yummy
I made my own brown sugar cinnamon syrup for the first time this week too!! I also had the moment of “why tf have I not been doing this it’s so easy -_-“
I appreciate your content so much. I struggle with orthorexia and have for 5 years. I can watch your videos and not feel pressured to give up foods i enjoy and experiment with new ones. Love your variety and thank you for encouraging relaxed eating. ❤
I'm also in my money saving Era, for a multitude of reasons tbh 😅 I just need to stop buying way too much food and actually use what's in the fridge already.

It's really hard to start! I've gotten into over preparing recently. I pick a recipe or two based on what I have already then create another recipe based on what I'll be buying and having extra of.
I've been subscribed to your channel for a while now, & I watch all your videos, but I don't think I've ever left a comment. So basically I just want to let you know I find your videos very cozy, calming, & relatable. You cook like a "real" person- using what you have & measuring by eye. Love it! 💕
emily! I’ve been making a pesto pasta salad for lunch this week using the classic tj’s vegan pesto, chickpeas, lemon juice, garlic, arugula, and the vegan feta! sooo good and i like to add a lil pasta water to coat the pasta. also, the dollar tree sells microgreen seeds that grow in about a week that are great for topping salads! would love more budget videos :)

Omg that sounds sooo delicious!!! And great tip on the micro green seeds from dollar tree, im gonna look for those :)
I’m in the mode of using what we have. I haven’t grocery shopped in two weeks! Making great meals with what we have. My kids are super annoyed with my lack of shopping though 😂
I have just stumbled upon your content and boyyyy-howdyyy this is my jam. Keep on doing you Bc it’s keeping my boring work days to be a lot less boring.
The hacks are gold thank you so much!! Brown sugar syrup and 2 layer freezing trick were my favorite
i love grocery outlet! they have so many good high quality/NOSH food for way cheaper -- that way i get to try things i wouldn't usually pay sm money for
I have not the best relationship with food (lots of emotional eating yeehaw) and after some googling found a book called Food: The Good Girl's Drug which has a big part about how important it is to take guilt out of the equation with regards to certain foods/eating in general. beating yourself up over eating choices doesn't help, just like how it doesn't help in the rest of life either!! good book highly recommend
Yes! I just recently re found your channel after a while and have been binge watching them all until the videos 3 years ago! Thanks for a new one xx!!!!
you should try making koshary. its an egyptian food and it really aligns with a lot of the ingredients you already have/use.
I love your videos 🫶 you help encourage and inspire me to try new foods! they help me remember to eat a balanced diet and give me ideas for meals 🫶🫶
i just found your account and as a fellow vegan i am so delighted. your videos are so fun and creative, keep being you 🙂
Thank you so much for being so consistent this summer with the excellent uploads!!!🥺 I've been needing some recipe inspiration lately as well as some comfort !
That takeaway lid hack is brilliant! Thanks for sharing. And love the garlic pic haha x
Your content is so important! Also, I highly recommend the garlic peeler silicone tube. I know it’s another kitchen gadget, but it really saves time when peeling a lot of garlic. ❤
Homemade simple syrups are always that consistency. You did it just right! ☺️
I love your cooking videos because it's just like hanging out with my friends. broke queers who cook together also chill together!!!!!
that double layering freezing hack is so smart i’m going to be doing that w bananas!
if you were to taste edamame (immature soybeans) and then compare it to (mature) soybeans (which of course tofu is made from) they'd taste very different!
btw just a tip for the brown sugar lattes. to get it all foamy and stuff even with cold brew u should shake it with the ice :) it makes it so creaming and yum :P
YOUR HAIR IS SO PRETTY IM SO JEALOUS OMGG
Good Saturday morning Emily. Glad to see you're doing well. Those fresh strawberries you're preparing look absolutely delicious. I'm happy to report that thanks to your recommendations for frugal healthy eating, I'm well on my way to meeting my weight loss goals for 2023!! 😉😉👍👍
So i havent been working since February. In that time i got married and am moving into a new home with my husband. Needless to say i am beyond broke these days. Ive found that oats have been a lifesaver. Specifically savory oats. I use them like one would rice or pasta or whatever carb if that makes sense. I cook the oats normally with just a bit of salt and top it with whatever i have and season with whatever i want. My fave as of late is pouring veggie curry over it. I can make milk out of oats which then i can use in recipes.. blend it up into flour for any baking needs... granola... energy balls... can even use it to ease skin irritation. Its hella cheap, full of fiber and other good stuff.
to avoid the noodles to get all stucked together, after you strain them add a couple of tablespoon of oil (olive oil is best obvi but work with what you have) and give a nice toss!
havent been as much on youtube lately bc i was dying at school,. but DAMN does your hair look amazinngggg 😳😭😭😭
Once again I’m jealous of your grocery outlet finds!
When I needed it most, she delivered
Oooooo! A stand alone vid w how you use the tofu’s would be nice 💚
needing two different milks is the reality. and we really need grocery outlet to come to MN

Right!! I was like $4 for those muffins… I can only find Abe’s mini muffins at Whole Foods in MN for $7 😅
Love the freezing hack!
Freeze the garlic in ice cube trays! I bought a fancy Korean garlic ice cube tray lol
I will 100% be using that pizza recipe next time. Your channel is a goldmine. Añay, allin llank'anku videopi ima.
The pasta bowl and the pizza look divine.
From what I've gathered, nigari is magnesium chloride, so that would make the tofu that's made with it high in magnesium, while most other tofus are coagulated with calcium, making them a good source of calcium
omg that pizza looks incredible!!
so many good hacks in this video!! love
Gotta simmer your syrup down a bit to make it thicker!

Yup! I whisk constantly as well, and do 2 cups water to 2 1/2 cups sugar
“BeveRAHge” I always eagerly wait the weirdly pronounced word of the video. I LIVE FOR THEM 😂❤
PLEASEEE do a q/a !!! Plsss ❤🥺
Ok all your tips are genius
i like the journey of following where our forgotten pantry items take us--
You inspired me to make homemade trail mix last week :)
I've made brown sugar syrup with one part water and two parts sugar bc the one to one ratio is kinda liquidy indeed!
Great tips!!!
Love some good money saving habits!
tbh when brands/branding goes down the diet-culture route with talking about 'guilt-free' and 'supporting weight loss' and being 'GOOD 4U UNLIKE THE OTHER BAD FOODS,' it's just such a massive turn-off for me nowadays. i'd honestly rather find another brand (if possible) of whatever it is than buy from a brand that capitalizes off of toxic, softcore ED-esque ideations that, frankly i feel like, haunt everyone to some degree, whether they realize it or not, because it's everywhere.

instead of diet culture-y labels, all labels should be more like the garlic label, lmao. what guilt?? only pic.
I literally whoop when u release a new vid x
I have the same pot that you made the brown sugar syrup in
I have reactive hypoglycemia now which is v fun and cool and hard to find vegan recipes for that don't primarily consist of things that aggravate other conditions I have but the hardest part is literally everythinggg being like "sugar is an Evil Addictive Drug" and all the guilt messaging around food. And everything being "lowcal!" "you can eat as much of this as you want w/o gaining weight!" and so on like leave me aloneee I'm just trying to eat!!!! 🙃
omg im in my money saving era tewwww! thank gawd
HI EMILY, THIS IS GOING TO BE SO RANDOM, but i have always loved your coyote/cactus california sweatshirt you wear all the time and have unsuccessfully tried to find it online, wondering if you got it in person in cali somewhere or if you (😭) just thrifted it lmao it's like my white whale at this point 😂😂 ALSO loved this video!!! love all your videos! thank you!
hey, what brand of kitchen scissors are you using to cut the chik'n? I'm disabled and those look like they could be mad useful
Have u tried baking garlic? It comes out like a creamy spread I haven't done it yet ; ) it comes out milder not às strong as crushed garlic
In french we say ganache with exactly the same prononciation for both a, the second one pronounced like the first you say already ! Its closer to *ganosh* ! Though i dont know if the english prononciation is different 😂
Would you mind sharing your pizza dough recipe? Looks sooo good 🤤
Grocery outlet bargain market 🎶
I have the same hand blender, chopper thing. lol
"expired" phhht youre fiiiine lol
yeah the only difference with the nigari one is that they used nigari as the coagulant instead of what they use in their other products (Glucono-Delta-Lactone)
If u make it a rich simple syrup (2:1) it'll last way longer, about 6 months before it starts going cloudy(:
Love ur videos as always but where did you get your glasses from I need to know I would like a pair
@emlyewng

these are from Warby Parker! the simon frame & thank you!! 💟
Idk if this is weird but the yuzu tofu is good topped with some kind of syrup, like a tofu pudding sort of deal

oh that actually makes sense… like the sweet tofu pudding with ginger syrup that i’ve never tried but always wanted to
ok what about hummus pasta salad...hummus pesto pasta salad?
lets gooooo
💚
Love you (platonically)
lmao did you mean the song “africa” by toto? 😂 (the ice cubes)
❤
🍵
I love your vegan videos ❤❤😊😊 I am currently working on becoming vegan though I am at the moment completely pesscatarian but I want to be vegan for all the animals one day.🌈🌈🥰🥰
Wait which phil collins dong? Now I want to go hear it😂
You mean to tell me I could have been making my own syrup with water and brown sugar?
If yoy want a syrupy consistency you need to cook your syrup a little not just melt the sugar into the water.
you literally said this pesto would be nice on pizza, then you make pizza and dont use the pesto?? i was so waiting for it.
I think you said ganache correctly
~soy flavored soy~
Awesome video, Emily. Question... have you ever used Next Level Diet? I got a custom high-protein meal plan from them and it's really working!
I mean it’s expired but I want to use it before it’s too expired.. haha me always
By the way, you totally pronounced "ganache" correctly
I get the “guilt free” in respect to you aren’t paying for animal exploitation and harm….i do think people should feel bad for doing that if they don’t have to. but in any other sense I don’t like it you shouldn’t feel guilt for eating a pudding etc.
The bon devils are sooo good but the market is totally why they're at grocery outlet lol
I like vegan p arm as cheese sometimes
Feta hands 😂
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I have your notifications on bc I love your personality but I'm definitely not vegan oops
next time boil the sugar and water till its the right thicccness
just get a garlic press. you don't even have to peel it.
Money saving?! Don’t you make hella money on KZread?!
