You are the hero of wearing shirts on top on pants. While a tucked in top is flattering and defines the waist sometimes its not so comfortable. We have been so conditioned to not put our tops over a wider trouser and I'm over it. I love your effortless chic style.

F... the rules! It's like the "rule: don't wear horizontal stripes if you are more curvy" i don't care AF. Wear things i love, feel good in & if someone don't like that then they don't have to look at me. Try that and you will feel liberated. Have a lovely sunday ✌🏻🌸

i love all your uploads. my husband and i have recently moved from Melbourne in Victoria, Australia to the Sunshine Coast in Queensland - so there is quite a difference in weather and temperatures and therefore fashion. your Autumn and Spring wardrobe would be suitable all year round here (except in Summer 😅) but i’ve held on to all my beautiful winter coats and boots for when we travel back to Melbourne for our getaways. thank you for being your lovely self and as always, thank you for the inspiration 😊

I'm currently sewing on a couple of oversized shirts in linen and some kind of raw silk. I can't wait to be done and wear them! Last year a dear friend of mine looked so stylish wearing her loose linenshirts over dresses or tops and I felt so inspired. And yeah I procrastinated this project till this year 😄

Blue stripes I agree is a staple , white shirt and black shirt are just a mist during spring summer.

I live in a north-western state in the U.S. where we can have all seasons present in a single week. Most cold-weather. things have to stay out until June or July, then back out in September. I am very excited to wear linen and dresses without leggings! I only have a dress or two that looks good layered up in the fall/winter time. The rest are all meant for warm weather. I really like slides, I like the comfort of Dad sandals, but I just don’t like the way they look on my legs. They make my feet looked enormous so I’m looking for a more sleep alternative. I did just get a pair of Teva sandals to try and I think I need to find a good shade close to my skin tone to help offset the chunkiness. I found that with loafers, Dad sandals, even some boots, if I get a more tan or nude color, it makes a style more wearable for me and my body proportions.

To me, it’s officially spring and summer when I can haul out my linen trousers. The end of last summer I bought a blue chambray pair and a black pair and had them cut off into shorts, and this year I have the same colors of long pairs along with a flax color. Living in a northern climate, I only have about three months to wear them and it feels like vacation every day when I can wear linen trousers.

Hello Emma! I really appreciate the thoughtfulness of each piece that you purchase, and the way you explain them! I have followed you for so many years! One little question… My husband and I are coming to the UK, the latter two weeks of May, and I can’t bring a lot of shoes. I’m just going to do carry-on! But I love clothes! I love knitwear. I have some lovely sweaters including a beautiful thigh length fairisle that my friend knitted for my retirement. Your spring wardrobe is very easy for me to follow! I can wear it for every day! I have comfy but stylish sandals! Some for streetwear and some for kayaking. Come on spring! Tired of the rain and snow flurries here in Canada!

I love your style: I love colour, my wardrobe looks nothing like yours however when I want to focus on my neutrals I love seeing your videos because the aesthetics are very streamlined and simple and I looove those ideas. Even when mixing textures I don't think you ever look over the top. you're wonderful at achieving that. Also I have been obsessed with a basket bag and I was like why? Excellent video Emma. I am looking forward to wearing my linen shirts, trousers and sandals. My feet are happiest when they are in sandals. I have regular pedicures throughout the year (needed because of some painful toe issues). In mid April I have my first pedicure with polish - a classic red- and then I am ready for wearing my open toed footwear. At the end of September the nail polish stops as do the sandals 😢

I’m so excited as we head into cooler weather in Sydney. Many of your spring outfits though will be fine for our autumn so thanks for the inspo! But I really can’t wait for winter and coats since last winter was all in lockdown, so no chance to really rock them. 😊

I love your style and my personal preferences are so similar - simple lines,minimalistic,comfortable with an overall chic, casual and slightly androgynous look. I’ve just spent all morning changing my wardrobes - quite a task- as here in Greece its fairly defined winter to summer wear . I have bought a few linen pieces this year,two pairs of trousers,Bermuda’s and a top so can’t wait to wear them! Southern Hemisphere here … so not exactly excited for sandals right now lol … but I am looking forward to wearing a couple of H&M premium cashmere jumpers I purchased recently (a lovely boxy taupe number and a chunky black and ivory striped one ) plus, a long black wool felted tailored coat from Zara I snagged for a steal during the Boxing Day sale. Its funny when you said Autumn and Spring being the same. Im sitting here 3 days before winter with a singlet top and a pair of trackies. Very spring like here. Oh Im in NSW Hunter Valley Australia.

I'm exited to wear my linen shirts and trousers again, as soon as the weather permits. I put them back into my wardrobe last week and am not so patiently waiting for the temperature to reach that magical 18°C mark. From this point out, until at least September, I am practically living in linen.

Hi Emma - Another great video! I've just treated myself to the black Ducie Sonia dupe of the Chanel Dad. I've been walking around the house to break them in ready for the warm weather and oh my are they comfortable! And as I'm wide footed with big plates of meat (I.e. feet for the non-East Enders!🤣), it was great to find a more luxe brand that fits me nicely. I've also found some dupes of the Dear Frances Kin sandal and also their knotted sandal (though this with a sling back) in M&S of all places! So I'm set up for summer footwear! Love to you, Simon and the Bs. Xxx

Hi Emma - since my comment above I was very sad to receive an email from Ducie with regard to the closure of their business due to Brexit, rising materials costs etc. 😢 They are hoping to restructure at some stage. Such a good brand. They are having a closing sale in London next week but unfortunately I won't be able to attend.

I am the opposite to most people and tend to have a body temperature that leans towards high - and I actually get anxiety wearing a jumper without a tank top underneath. Taking my dog for a walk and starting to overheat in a knitted sweater is what my nightmares are made of.

Trench coats are very nice 🙂

I can’t think of a brand that has a pair in stock right now but the fabric will be a big thing. Anything linen, lightweight cotton etc will be much less opaque. You’d need lining in trousers made out of linen or cotton to make them less see through but that defeats the idea of light summer trousers that will keep you cool. Aside from the off white ones in this video which are a much thicker fabric, I wouldn’t wear them in Summer 🥵, I have some linen ones and they are a bit see through but nothing some nude underwear doesn’t fix 🙌🏼

Good Morning everyone, goodmorning Emma & Simon ✌🏻 #peaceplease #makelovenotwar Alltho i'm more curvy 😏🙄😬 my fave is a loos trousers and a oversized knit, sweater, hoodie (sort of like when you showed with the dark "elasticated" teousers & striped knit), (some stripes suit me , others don't. Depends on how big the stripes are, the slimmer the better for me) I just don't care if i am curvy, i love oversized Yep i hate pedicure but its needed for sandals Yeay next week interior!!!

New subscriber here! I am new to your channel, it popped up in all my video watching of spring basics and capsules. I have to say, your style is quite a bit different in that you don’t tuck everything! I am mostly a secondhand shopper and have found some very unique gems over the years! I’m currently in a bit of a style redo, figuring out where I’m at currently that’s a bit challenging! I definitely like the look of high waisted pants and the tucked in look, making my legs look taller, but with some things it’s just very uncomfortable and I find myself putting those things that are not comfortable tucking in, to the side for potential decluttering. You might be changing my mind about that! Do I really need to tuck everything? Everyone I watch here is tucking shirts and any top in or wearing cropped styles. I guess it all comes to preference!

I have 3 white button up shirts and almost never wear them. I guess a white shirt is not always a staple in everyone’s wardrobe.

I'm in a personal nightmare of trying endlessly to find chunky or modern sandals that are super comfy and have padded soles! The search continues.... love these videos, so inspiring!!

I love the Softwalk Benissa Sandals. I have them in both black and tan. So comfy. They look kind of like Birkenstocks but more feminine.
