'I'm exceptional!' Shaun Evans and Nancy Carroll in Manor by Moira Buffini
Ойын-сауық
Diana (Nancy Carroll) and Ted (Shaun Evans) get talking and flirting as they're thrown together to survive a violent storm in Diana's manor house. This scene was shot during rehearsals for our darkly comic new play: www.nationaltheatre.org.uk/sh...
As a violent storm sweeps the coast, Diana (Nancy Carroll) struggles to keep the roof on her run-down manor house. When a group of strangers arrive in search of shelter, she meets Ted (Shaun Evans), the charismatic leader of a far-right organisation. Could he be Diana’s saviour, or pull the fragile household to pieces?
Manor by Moira Buffini (The Dig, Handbagged) plays in the Lyttelton theatre from 16 November 2021 - 1 January 2022.

Woukd love to see these magnificent actors come to the other cities and towns. London maybe the great place for theatre. But we need the opportunity to see them too.

Can't wait to see this! 👌
Wow. Perfect acting and nice writing too. Will this become available to Americans in movie theaters? I hope so. Two well known actors for Anglophiles but almost unrecognizable here.
This should be amazing!

Would love to see this for NT at Home. Originally the play would open for April 2020 but the pandemic happened, and the role of Ted was for Ben Daniels, who later had to switch for The Normal Heart which finished recently at the National (a worthy exchange in my opinion). Would love to see Shaun’s take on the role as well. (Though should it get a West End or Broadway transfer, I’d love Olivia Colman to play Diana and Ben will finally play Ted)

He kills
Christ alive beautiful actors. Magic
he seems a bit too quick with his lines. no real thought process displayed. after she talks he's on her heels. doesnt seem natural

I'd argue that's on purpose, he's playing a character who charms people for a living, it's meant to be somewhat 'rehearsed' because it's not genuine, it isn't natural. I've seen the play and Shaun was definitely great in the role.
Acting by numbers. Completely devoid of naturalism. Particularly her. Almost unwatchable.
Probably the worst production I have ever witnessed, so terrible that it was actually funny..the acting was just horrific..if this is what theatre has come to at the National and in the UK then it is dead, its as simple as that
