You gave me a lot. I didn't really have friends when I started skating to ask for advice or push me to improve, so I always just layed your videos while I skated. Totally understand, the burn out is real and recently it has been harder and harder to get views with the change in the algorithm, and shorts and TikTok taking up so many eyeballs. Respect for the 6 years you put in and what you brought to the YT skate community. Never commented before, but have enjoyed watching your videos.

I am a 45 year old father that got back into skating this summer because my two daughters wanted to learn how to skate. I took the opportunity to get back into skateboarding and love that my girls are also into it. I searched through youtube for videos and content but didn't like how a lot of what I saw was not enjoyable to watch or was just click bait. I always came back to your channel because of your no nonsense, no fluff, and honest content. I really enjoy watching your videos. I appreciate that your reviews have always come from a technical and practical standpoint that is backed up with a lot of testing and skill. I appreciate your honesty and ability to remain true to yourself. Thank you for your contribution to skateboarding. Thank you for helping me get back into something that I loved as a kid and continue to love as an adult. Good luck to you and your future endeavors! See ya on the next video. Much love and respect from Wasilla, Alaska.

Well said! I’m 46 and got back on during COVID and couldn’t just sit at the park on my phone after the first few days. Ben’s content has always been great. You might like Chad Caruso’s channel if you want to pick up some progression basics and then advanced stuff. The back catalog has a ton of how to stuff and then he has skate travel vlog material from his 50 states/50 tricks challenge and this year’s skate across America. Cheers from Long Island!

Thank you so much ben. You took me from a 17 year old kid who didn’t care about his setups, just knew what he liked and when it was time to retire it just to start fresh, to a 24 year old who doesn’t know what he likes but knows what he likes about everything and it’s been fun not knowing. Your videos are like a security blanket for me. Much love to you and best wishes for what your future holds and like any true skate enthusiast, you’ll be back. At least hopefully for my sake.

You've provided a real service to skating man, I learned more from your channel in the last year or so, than I did through decades of skating. Thanks for helping get this 'old guy' back into skating, after 17 years off. I probably broke my wrist at 24, didn't have insurance, needed my body operational for my job - had to make a tough lifestyle choice. By the time I got the insurance thing figured out, I had a career, other hobbies, life was happening. I never forgot how much fun skateboarding is, or how important it was to me, but your channel reminded me that there's nothing stopping me from going out and riding my board. It's taken a few sore months just to get my muscles and muscle memory back, but it's been great! My son is 3, and seeing how eager and happy he is just to watch his dad skate, that alone makes the struggle worth it. I love that humbling feeling, too, of being totally frustrated with something and putting in the work to make it work. I didn't watch you channel for the setup reviews anyway, so I'm excited that you're still interested in posting when you're feeling inspired, I'll be looking forward to those when (if) you put those up. Good luck, thank you - I just might have to pick up drywall!

I didn’t think there was any guys skating this old unless they were pro. I also jacked my knee up pretty bad after about 3.5 of skating again and I don’t get out skating much now. But that second wind was the best time on my board I ever had. I still go out from time to time but it isn’t as fun when the pain starts. The algorithms are both a good and a bad thing on this platform and modern social media in general, they can push you and your content, but over time they can become your cell, so I totally understand how you're kinda tired of it after all these years and just want to enjoy skateboarding without taking time from other important things in life. Thanks for your videos from Moscow, I hope you won't delete them, cuz I'm sure the info will still be valuable for the future viewers. Your channel taught me a lot about what it means to be a skater in vancouver. I’m sorry to see you go but I’m glad you gave us what you did. Coolest guy in the KZread skate scene for sure.

Thank you for all your videos and everything you’ve done. I recently go back into skateboarding after skating for 11 years. I got sober and picked it back up after awhile and your videos have helped my nerd brain get set up how I wanted. You’re the GOAT

Only recently found your channel, as much as this makes me sad I completely understand. As a content creator myself, well, was a content creator, the type of burnout and video narrowing you described is so true. I found your channel after I stopped skating 6 years ago to pursue school and a career, only to recently come back at 30, which is where your channel came into play for me. You've been an inspiration to a lot of us "old dudes" getting back into skating. We're not going anywhere, if you decide to upload again we'll be here to watch. Have fun with your other project and thank you for what you've done on this one.

Thanks, Ben! I'm in my 40s and rediscovered skateboarding in 2019 after being out of it for 15 years. I learned a lot through your channel and drew inspiration from you as another family man in his 40s trying to find time to skate between all my real world responsibilities.

I got back into Skateboarding 2 or 3 years ago after a six years break. I think i rather quickly found your channel and really enjoyed the videos and i like to think that atleast somewhat you shaped how i look at skateboarding and topics surrounding it. Especially with my local Park having mainly Skaters in my age or younger, so listening to your experience with topics was always helpful and helped me learn some stuff :) And while its sad to see you "go" i just want to thank you for the videos, your honesty and the time you spend. Wish you and your family all the best and hope your knee gets better. And again thanks for everything.

All good. There was a period two years ago when I was skating a lot and doing a lot of home remodeling work and I was watching so many Ben videos man. It a very overwhelming period in my life where I had to learn and get it done on all front and I damn near drove myself crazy. The amount of things I learned from you is truly hard to describe or explain. I'll always be grateful for that.

Thank you Ben, for your countless hours of wisdom and knowledge. Your videos actually made me a better skateboarder by helping me understand how my skateboard works after almost 10 years of skating. It’s all good, don’t feel the need to force yourself to make content, when you’ve made far more than enough. Thank you for the memories, and I hope that you can rest and be happy.

You're a true inspiration Ben! I always get stoked when I see you at a park in town. All the youtube stuff aside, seeing you rip and continue to push yourself in skating, and more importantly in life, is just awesome. Thanks for all the content, and the integrity.

I appreciate all the time and effort you have contributed to the skate community. I've had a ton of enjoyment out of your videos and I've gained a lot of insight into building ramps, and just all around good advice for board setups that I never knew about. I've been skating for 22 years but I always managed to learn something new from your videos, and I will pass that knowledge onto the up and coming skaters of today and tomorrow. You've really done something special with your channels, and you've made a huge positive impact on skaters all over. From one skater to another, thank you, take care, and just keep skating!

I can't say anything other than thank you Ben. You have been helping me for almost my entire skate time by constantly being a motivation and also kind of a role model to me. Because of you I started skating again after tearing first my outer-, and then a year later my inner ligament on my right foot. I am 16 now and I must say i am so grateful for what you've done for me and so many other people. I have huge respect for you and your decision. Greetings from Germany.

Thank you, Ben. I've been hooked on this channel for years and always appreciated your thoughtfulness towards valuing the audiences time. As an older skater, seeing how comfortable and consistent you still are was super inspiring. And the advice you'd sprinkle in about exercises/stretches that actually work is probably what I will miss the most. That, and crooked grinds on crusty ledges.
