As being a sikh I learned that one of the reasons we are not supposed to cut our hair or change our body is because everything given to us is a gift from god. When you identify youself as queer you are changing or not accepting the gift (your gender) that god gave you. is your way of thinking the same as sikhi?

Hey, I'm in the military, Black, and Sikh. I recently converted from Christianity to Sikh, and it is so great to see that other people understand my situation. It has for sure been tough being the minority of Sikhi culture. I think the hardest part about all of it has been being looked like a culture stealer and it sucks that some black men in the military are abusing the culture and religion to keep their hair. We have a very strict rules to follow in the military in regard to hair as well as how we generally have to present ourselves. I just hope that it is not the same on the outside.

i also converted in the military. The Military seems to be a black sikh breeding ground lol. although, i wasnt able to get a waiver/chit for my hair ( i didnt mind, i was getting out soon anyway). on the topic of being considered a culture vulture, you shouldnt have an issue as long as you remember who you are as a person :) on the outside you dont have to worry much about it, if you dont drink/smoke/drugs (or do them publicly at least) you shouldn't*** have an issue with finding a good sangat . Edit: forgot word, sorry about the confusion

I was born in Sikh family and I can say even after being born all of us still need to find the path to Sikhi and convert. As guru showed the path, we are one have to walk.

*All respect to your decisions and to your belief system* On a healthy discussion my question is what was the main fundamental aspect of Sikhism that made you believe that this is your way of life..?? What decisions you made to come to the assumption that this is the truth, in comparison to other religions. (Was there thorough research done on your behalf on other belief systems) Sikhism A religion movement which only started during 1649 or so in punjab India. *So before him did Sikhism exist* The very first Guru was born within a hindu family, so he was in the Hinduism belief system (which most likely total guess, it did not resonate with him). Is Sikhism divinely inspired is it from Our Lord Our Creator. Or man made innovation infusing the best of everything (mainly influenced by Islam and Hinduism)

Sikhism is divinely inspired. If you want to learn about sikhi in deapths there is a very good youtube chanel named Basics Of Sikhi started by bhai Jugraj singh. this chanel has lots of the answers to your questions

Honey being an amritdhari sikh is being a token anyhow (since we are a young faith )and the target in the racism sandwich , that was my experience growing up in the UK and sad to say it hasn't changed much for my kids .
