Wearing a turban shaped cap doesn't mean you have that crown on you. Turban is something Guru Sahib gave us and you can't just wear it like it's a cap. Learn to tie a turban. Took me like a day to learn it.

no thanks. we all wear + tie our own turbans whenever we want to wear a turban [we're wearing turbans in the thumbnail of the video for godsake. 🙄🤦🏾]. more often, i prefer a cap or durag. that won't change. this comment is presumptuous, uninformed, + culturally incompetent. had you taken a few moments to check out other content//images (or even _actually_ watched this video), you would've known this. piece or advice: stop telling other people want to do; worry about your own journey w| Sikhi, if it's not causing harm, let others live + practice as they wish. thanks for watching + thanks for the engagement. take care. 🫡

I’m sorry that u guys experienced any discrimination. Our gurus teach us equal love!!!… I also feel ur A sikh because you want to connect with Waheguru, and ur focusing on the people. There is going to be some kind of separation because of the culture. It shouldn’t be I agree. Realistically it is but think beyond that. Its more and don’t let that get in the way of ur experience of bliss with waheguru ji.

Such problems in a community that once used to stretch from Afghanistan all the way up to Ladakh, with the 5 pyaare coming from across the Indian subscontinent, with Guru Tegh Bahadur ji going to preach as far as Assam, really show the sad, backwards affects of a community that failed to expand and got too concentrated in a small region especially after the partition. But it's so encouraging to see people such as you embracing the message and the foundation of the message and not letting the punjabi community deter you from it. I'm quite sorry this has been your experience. Those within the punjabi community can be somewhat insular in their thinking, but I do see things slowly changing. Your faith would put that of so many so called 'authentic' punjabi sikhs to issue. Waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki fateth. Manas ki jaat sad EK pachanbo

First and foremost Fateh 🙏🏽 Please do forgive the ignorance of those whom you find in some Sikhi Darbar. The issue of ones colour within scripture or Gurbani does not exist. Now reasons why we may find prejudice within Darbar is because most of the worshippers within Gurdwara Sahib DO NOT understand the blessing of Sikhi. Due to an amas of colonisation Sikhi was not allowed to spread and a lot of what we have today is a colonised version of Sikhi. Satguru is Guru for the world NOT just for Panjab. Guru Gobind Singh Ji himself was NOT of Panjabi descent. So until decolonisation of the Paniabi diaspora and the heads of our faith are NOT progressive in terms of not Just Panjab. The British recreated Sikhi and lowered the spread so it wouldnt become widespread. One of the first things that the British and Brahmins done was Stop Sikhi People Preaching and spreading the word and scripture of Sikhi. Not to take away from the Panjabis for they have sacrificed insurmountable heads to keep the faith alive. Panjab is currently awashed with drugs and poverty so those you may see in the Darbar although in appearance maybe wearing a Turban they are NOT Dastaars. They are learning or just practising from an incorrect standing. I think in some cases Plato’s cave analogy needs to be applied. As more people are coming into Sikhi and have better understandings you can also be more than just students but become educated teachers of the Bani. Remove the ceiling! For imagine having one who is Female and of West Indian or European Head of faith. We can do that now. Until we keep those of Brahmanical or British mindsets in Turbans at the head of the SGPC those barriers will remain. I love what you are doing! May you always remain in Power and High Spirits. 🙏🏽 If I have caused any offence please forgive me🙏🏽

we hope not either. that would be pretty silly at best + antithetical to Sikhi at worst. thankfully i've only ever seen//heard two people make that suggestion (both of them are Panjabi Sikhs). regardless, we all think separating Gurdwaras based solely on race isn't the move.

Nice, the thing is that Punjabi culture is more practiced than Sikhi itself and because Sikhs did not teach anyone about Sikhi, Sikhi sadly kinda got trapped in the realms of Punjab. Many reasons why this happened but its nice to see the message of Guru Sahib is spreading.

In his lecture on the Arab slave-trade in Africa, Dr. John Henrik Clarke said the European did to Christianity what the Arab did to Islam that is remove the spirituality and use the religion as a political tool. Dr. Clarke said the African has a spirituality that he brings to any religion and conceives of that religion in its purest form. Black people across the three major religions all deal with the exact anti-black racism you describe. This is how we know that the primary issue for blacks globally is anti-black policy and propaganda. This is the issue to be confronted and solved. I suspect the two of you are true Sikhs of the highest order.

When you say Sikhs you are generalizing all Sikhs. You are talking about few people who at the end of the day people with their imperfections. So to label all for a few is hypocritical. Also do more research on the meaning behind the turbans depending on the code of conduct for Amritdhari Sikhs is a little different. So if someone tells you something don’t get defensive, there is more to it so sister take your advise and be mindful yourself.

We are all one, there is God in all of us, its realised through Gurbani the Word of God. As our souls become purified through our actions and meditation we become like the droplets of an ocean (God) part of the same consciousness. Our souls never die, we become one with the creator free from the cycle of life and death. Being a Sikh is a greatest gift and a blessing ❤
