This isn't even gaming anymore, that is Level Design but limited through a game instead of done in something like blender.

I am feeling so flattered to see my hometown featured on Cities Skylines in such detail! A couple hints: 1) the last historical building you put in the city is an old convent (like lots of buildings in Venice) dedicated to Saint Chiara. But now it is… a police station! Since you mentioned adding cube services to the city, this might be where you drop a police service cube? 2) yes, there is a market on the island of Tronchetto (the outer large parking area). It is namely a fish market selling to businesses (e.g. restaurants). 3) there is a tram line going out of the city, running on the highway bridge. It is a bit of a particular tram (Translohr, 1 track only and rubber wheels). Might not be worth including in the city, also because it leads outside the 25 tiles. This is the most beautiful cities I’ve ever seen. It might be just a port right now but you put more detail into it than anyone I’ve ever seen.

17:07 I remember being lost on this bridge trying to get from the train station to the cruise ship area. It wasn't until I was walking on the highway for awhile that I realized there was a light rail I could have hopped on and been to my destination in 5 minutes. Instead it took me like 30 minutes of dodging traffic and walking through parking lots. Ah travel memories....

Really like that you started this part of Venice and showed us the real photos you are working from. I'd been to Venice many times but entered always from the water. It can seem like Disneyland. This makes it seem so much more realistic. Your attention to detail is astounding. Also loved the markings on the road and the old bridge. Scooter parking! I can't imagine the hours you put into this. Thank you for sharing your amazing skills with us. Can't wait to see the people going around! Oh and I liked Switzerland, but I like all your work!

Love the project. Venice is my favourite city in the world, I've been there 20 times more or less. A fantastic project, but extremely difficult. I will follow and enjoy the entire build. Most of the buildings are built almost over water because the foundations of theme are below water.

If you feel motivated about it again in the future it'd be great to see it finished. Don't force it though! If wrapping it out with some cinematics is all that happens, that's totally fine too. Holy crap man. Your impulse to go and try literally the most difficult spaces is ridiculous and very much at the core of my interest in your creative projects. Not that everything should be outrageous and sensational! But the fact that you even think to tackle projects that seem almost impossible (Santorini comes to mine, and yes Switzerland too! [I count myself a groupie and have not been underwhelmed by it; but if you're burnt out than that's another thing-I personally want no part in encouraging your burning out! {sorry, long parenthetical}]) is just wild and hilarious and impressive all at once. I know that this is a 1:1, and that usually means realism, but I hope you follow your usual impulse to leave your own fingerprint on Venice too.

Just if someone is interested. That people mover (monorail in your build) is actually a cable car. And the thing on the road where you put those bus lanes is translohr (kind of rubber tyred tram with guiding rail in the middle). In both cases not possible to build in C:S.

I love this country, because there are mountains, and lakes. I would like to visit this country, especially since I live not far away.

Wow this is so cool. I love learning from your builds and getting ideas. Although I'll never be as good or as detailed as you I love taking bits and pieces and using them in my own builds so love seeing stuff like this!

What a tease to start and end with little Mediterranean areas Like you said, doing Venice really hits home the "Cities" aspect of this game. Doing little mountain villages was very interesting, but I think Venice is the note to end on.

Amazing! Just one point, when entering by road over the bridge, that road is much wider that the road you have in game and has a tram line running down each lane that’s what the red lanes are

This level of detailing and you wanna do the whole city? This is CRAZY. If you really succeed in this work it's probably going to end up in being one of the most beautiful cities ever built on Cities Skylines. I live near Venice and have been there many times so I just wanted to say that using the river as a way of transport is crucial for citizens and turists so it's really unfortunate that there's nothing you can do about that. One quick side note about the elevated building and park at 15:45 : That building is a gas station, so normally cars would go under the "roof", refill, and then go back on the road. In your city they can't do it because the lane turns away back to the road before reaching the gas station. It's just a small thing but since you were so detailed I thought it was ok for me to point that out for you. Btw great video! I'm really looking forward to see what's next.

Great to see you do your magic with an other beautiful European city and Venice is one of the best. Lots of canal work to keep you busy. Probably not the best time to tell you but If you're still looking for any other ideas for Italian builds after Venice have a look on Google Earth at the stunning 'GIARDINI DI VILLA BARBERINI'. Its the Pope's summer palace near Rome. Its got it all, Gorgeous palace, old fortified walls, pretty hilltop town, beautiful extensive gardens and a mountain railway up to it. I'd love to see you recreate it and would be interested to see how you would do the gardens, I'm sure with your usual panache. Thanks once again for all the inspiration from a Europe build lover. xx

I literally started building Venice last week 😭 this is so perfect. Its just impossible without mods (like everything in this game)

I'm not from Venice because almost no one lives in the actual city but I'm from a near town and I can explain why the train station looks so new because it was constructed durin the fascist era. The next island built is Tronchetto wich is the parkinglot of Venice and has quite a few services like the ferry depot (at the tip of the island). Then there is the Marittima and Santa Chiara area where cruise ships used to arrive, but now there is a discussion about banning the passage and docking in the city center, insted redirect them to other ports. The last building is actually the police station

GREAT JOB! next level is to expand this to LIDO and PELLESTRINA

it's a real shame people were underwhelmed by the swiss build! i was really enthralled by it and i'm sad to see it go. so far this venice build is fantastic!

Seeing that train station is surreal when you're on a train that is headed from Venice to Rome

Amazing project, But i must comment on the fact that the red lanes from Google Maps are not actually for buses, but are lanes for the local Translohr (rubber-tired tram) in case you are also trying to recreate the movements of the city, in the future.

How do you take a nice cinematic while building the aria(1:30 ). Do you really build with the camera in this position and while moving or It's a different camera angel filming a specific aria? What mod or combination of them gives you the power to do that. A very nice video.
