No reason to die in a pointless war for a country that isn't your own. All the Russians and Ukrainians dying in the war are already far too many. No need for outsiders to throw their lives away as well.

One of his updates was "I'm home!", a pic of him back in Afghanistan way back when. He had a wife and two kids, but somehow an essential part of him stayed in those mountains and beckoned him back.
