As an Indigenous Anishinaabeg/Mohawk woman whose ancestors invented Three Sisters Gardening, I laughed out loud when you said “Three Sisters Garden that morphed into Two Sisters and a cousin!” So true! Gardening is such a dynamic and unexpected process and a good lesson for everyone to learn. I will be thinking about that statement for a long while.

Hi beautiful Lady.🙋‍♀️ I’m relatively new to your channel. I’ve watched you off & on & not sure why I didn’t regularly watch before. I am now hooked. Not because of your handsome men (lil. & big) that I enjoy or dog which I think is sooo cool. It truly is the garden but not for the reasons you would think. Your garden is NOT PRISSY & PERFECT! You don’t have perfect boarders or use perfect materials. I LOVE THAT🥰 I see other channels & every thing is all straight & perfect & they wear pretty make up & nothing is messy which brings me to my dream, your green house which is also messy! I LOVE THAT! I laugh when you mentioned it because that would totally be me!!! You are amazing, outstanding, incredibly insightful & so knowledgeable & willing to share the good, bad & the ugly. My heart leaps when your excited about the little things like putting your face in the plants and enveloping the scents, or how your smile lights up the universe when you see blooms. My day is made when your on sharing so thank you for you. God has truly blessed the Earth with your presence. 🙏👩‍🌾🥰🙋‍♀️

Oh, I understand the delight!!! My daughter's hens have decided that the best place to lay their eggs is in the trash can of hay for her rabbit that she keeps next to the front door to make fetching it simple. It's like... delivery service!!! Eight of the nine hens think it's the best place. Of course, number nine likes to lay hers under the lawnmower behind the coop, so you can't win 'em all :)

Within a year the bugs have stayed out of the garden. Marigolds have become one of my favorite flowers and no squash bugs in the garden for the past 6ys.

Your book is beautifully written and the photos are awesome. Yes, I live in western NC in Pisgah Forest, just 1 mile from the Pisgah National Forest, and we have warm days and lows in the high 30's at night. So for the next 3 days, we'll be covering everything with frost blankets. Will be glad when it's over. My seedlings need to get outside! Again, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your book. I planted my beans as directed on pkg. My brother and I added the trellis like you have with cattle panels. My beans came up beautifully, however they were way too crowded. I failed... again. Animals ate all my nice tomatoes and the beans bloomed, but I only got maybe 5 from them. That's not stopping me because I'm determined and have been learning from my mistakes. Critters shouldn't be eating anything for 5,000 sqft. around; at least that's what I understood from the box and a Lycoming Night time solar powered animal repellent. Besides, I want chickens. LOL. I may have given up the year before if I hadn't found your channel. Thank you for the encouragement and the advice that it's ok to not be successful all the time with anything that we plant. Thank you. God Bless you and your family.

I don't trust that it's going to be a light frost. I brought everything in that I could... and we are covering the rest. We WERE in the 50's at night!!! One thing I have learned this year... you can plant it, water, feed it and love it, but outside of that, you have NO control. Great reminder that God's in control. Last year we had a frost come a month after our average last frost date. I had beans climbing up our fence at the time. I took sheets and attached them to the fence with clothes pins to protect the entire plant. It worked really good. We had temperatures at or below freezing for three nights.

Planting my first Arkansas garden this year and was impatient. Took your advice and covered all the baby plants. Seems crazy after the beautiful day we had but sure can feel the temperature dropping. You inspire me!

I’m a beginner Gardner using grow bags. We’ve been 55 for lows at night in South Ms. It was really cold yesterday morning with wind blowing strong from the Gulf So no big deal. However it rained and stormed for like 7 days. What’s funny is that I kept going out the front door to check on my plants and my husband did laugh at me. He’s like well honey are they still their? I’m like but the leaves are getting wet. LOL. Wait when a hurricane comes and I move them inside. LOL

I have a jungle of tomato starts in my kitchen right now. It is waaaay past our last frost date, and I was kind of beating myself up a tiny bit because I didn't get my dozens of tomatoes in the ground a week ago like I wanted to. After covering the new growth on the Pomegranates, fig, and european grapes that miraculously survived snowmageddon, (plus the myriad of other various frost tender things already up and out), I'm soooooo glad I didn't have to try to cover all the tomatoes and peppers too. Lol
