I received one of these for Christmas. During the first burn, i used pellets. It produced a lot of dirty smoke and soot. The second time, I tried wood chips with the same results. The inside of the oven is covered with soot at this point. Any suggestions?

Which pellets did you use?? Did they smother??

@thegalleryBBQ it was pitboss pellets and I'm unsure of the hickory chips. They were from Walmart as well. It is possible I smothered it. I've read about using smaller fuel amounts.
