I Love These USD Sway // Aggressive Inline Skating

Спорт

I've been skating the Powerslide Zoom with a USD Sway soul plate for a few sessions now, and really love the way they grind. It's a really solid soul and I feel super confident when I skate. Matched with the 45 degree buckle and I've got a really responsive setup.

I've been working from home and avoiding gatherings for a week so far. Really hard to re-align life around social distance. My constant has been going out to skate every day (alone). It's one of the things that didn't need to change. Skating was already an anchor for me, so much more so now. Keep it going! It'll help.

Lookin good on those zooms! I really wish every skate would have the 45 strap. Love a solid tight fit. I think it would allow narrow feet to work in more boots! It would also almost remove the need for me to ride full laced liners.

I'd like to see first how much they get chewed up in aggro skating. I know it's a bit different but when I skated Xsjados, sometimes I literally did short makios on the 45 degree buckle itself when it caught on angle iron... I hated skating angle iron in Xsjados because every time I missed a grind the 45 degree strap got caught. Luckily it's super easy to add a 45 strap to skates that didn't come with them from the factory, it's just two holes.

Ok, first off thank you for what you said about the health emergency & including all of us in the Community. That’s important & much needed. We all need to try to maintain normalcy as much as possible. Second, right from the beginning I saw you skating positively & with way more commitment than before. I watch all of your videos & I can see small changes. I think you’ve found the perfect skates. As for getting up on the high ledge maybe find something or make something to practice jumping up on while wearing shoes so your legs get used to jumping. It can’t hurt & it might help. I haven’t been out on my skates because I don’t know where to go & my knee has been bothering me from skating. I can still ride my bike & just bought a unicycle. I can’t wait for it to be assembled so I can start learning. I’ll go back to skating in the summer. I hope the viral crisis doesn’t last that long. Stay safe. 👍☮️🌞

Thank you for keeping doing what you do! I like the 3 goals as well, solid session! And that was a high jump - I don't think I can jump that high, although I'm much younger (39 ;-) I needed that skatepark today as well after our schools have been shut down as well! ;-) About flat vs. anti: You've been talking flat vs. anti a lot lately in podcasts, etc. I thought, I liked skating flat much more and that I needed a 270 wheelbase, but now I tried 50/50 frames 250mm with the 58/90s and UHMW-antis, I am at least torn. Yes, skating felt worse - but not incredibly bad (but the SOLAs are definitely more fun skating) and grinding was obviously easier, but not to the point I was able to do more - but at least I tried more grinds today than ever. Learning for that unity and I just still can't imagine doing them on the Solas or Oysis. Guess I stick with anti for the moment...;-) Let's keep skating!

I used to be able to get on 48" rails and ledges in the late 90s. Now, the balls high ledge scares me to death. LOL.

when this mess is over you should try hopping on the small ledge then hitting the top ledge if you want longer grinds!

I haven't tried any grinds yet...as I don't have my Aeon 80's yet. But to me it seems like a natural instinctive move. Kinda like when we were kids in the winter and running as fast as you could on the sidewalk and sliding on the ice. Exact same moves in play. I think speed is your friend in that case. When I see you approaching a jump then grind you're going so slow that I think it would be harder. I know there is that 'survival mechanism' kicking in. I think you just need to go for it and pretend you're on ice. You've gotta be sturdy when you land on the ice to break your feet free and start the slide. I think it's like riding a bike too slow...makes it really hard. Well...I'll get back to you when I try some... Maybe even make a video.Take care...I'm in Taiwan by the way. No lockdown here as we speak. Everything open and life as normal.

@@BacktoBlading I want to buy a pair of White Aeon 60s (Probably the XIXs or maybe just custom build from the shells up) and was hoping you could help a fellow mid lifer out. 1. I am concerned about the white shell not sliding on grinds, did you notice it? 2. Most importantly, I do not have a local shop to try them on. I am a minimalist and don't like big clunky skates. I don't like having too much room in my skate either. I am size US 11.5 Would it even be possible to fit into a 9-10 shell with myfit second skin liners size 11-12?
