The most amazing is thar they thought daddy would be mad because the got to many cucumbers. It's quite hilarious. Why would anyone get mad about more to sell? Not the worst Christian video I've seen. Look at Caleb and Sofia from Jehovas witnesses. They're so manipulating and scary. If you don't behave, Jehova will hate you, and you'll go to hell. That's scary menipulative and right down abusive.

They literally only eat it to stop their stomach from eating itself and to stop the hunger pains. Never mind that those kids all grow up with severe health issues, well beyond stunted growth, as a result of extreme malnutrition their entire lives. This family clearly has the means to give something of substance but instead just pass along their problems to those that have little choice but to accept because they have so little to begin with. Honestly in those situations, sometimes actual nothing would be better then a long time of something that is made up of nothing.

Charity is only charity if I can talk about it on the news and make a big production and it doesn't actually matter about helping them.

I really don't understand how it took them so long to arrive at the "send the homeless people the cubecumbers" idea. The INSTANT they mentioned a disaster I was like "Oh, they're gonna send the cubecumbers to the homeless, okay" and then they just... continued.... to NOT do that.... for a REALLY long time.

But if they prayed for help first and went to church to really drive the prayer home....then it's an act of Cube-Jesus of course! Proof even!

It was kind of amazing seeing the family hear about the people directly described as "hungry", sat among their sea of cube-cumbers like "Oh-no! Hungry Cubes! What can we do? IDK, guess we'll have to pray about it."

Can you imagine being homeless and hungry, and then getting a mountain of cucumbers? Then a bunch of Christians are patting themselves on the back for the saintly deed they did, and they’re getting all this praise and publicity for it? I mean, it’s better than nothing, but a diet of just cucumbers sounds pretty horrible, especially if you’re homeless on top of it. Thanks god. I mean, they even had a blues song breakdown in the middle of the show to lament how they hated cubecumbers and didn’t want to eat them anymore, so now they just pass it off to the homeless like “the Poors will be happy to have anything, even if it’s something that is distressing to us. glory to his name, we’re the goodest for being so kind”.

Do you think if I make a sacrifice to Cthulhu right now, tell him how awesome he is and that everything good that's ever happened to me is because of him and not as the result of my own or others' efforts, while also acknowledging that everything bad that's ever happened to me is my own damn fault because I must have done something shameful that took me out of Cthulhu's light so I clearly deserve all of the terrible things that I have experienced (including, but not limited to, chronic illness, poor mental health, loss of work leading to financial difficulties and seeing this video) ... well, do you think Cthulhu would let me forget about the whole eyeball thing? Looking at the butterfly effect of this episode: Don't follow instructions = too much food = able to help the homeless. Therefore the moral teaching to always follow instructions = just food for you = only pray for the homeless because there's nothing in it for you to help. Great lesson for kids.

The only good moment was "their purpose is cuteness, and they serve cuteness" and then later it's taken back for no reason.

"eww, I hate these vegetables. Someone homeless should have to eat them instead and then I can feel better about myself"

"oh no! 50 cubes are homeless and starving! I wish there was something we could do to help!" Ignores the overabundance of cubecumbers and prays instead.

My dad has some obsession with growing potatoes and grows far more than he and mom can possibly eat. When I saw the mountains of cucumbers it reminded me of him. One big difference however. He has long donated his overabundance of potatoes to the local food bank and never once did he need to "pray about it" to get the idea nor did he ever mention any religious motivation. He just didn't want them to go to waste and it made him feel good to help those in need. Interesting that when the cube parents prayed at home (twice) they never bothered to "wait on the Lord" for a revelatory answer. It never once occurred to them that they could donate their overage to the homeless hungry cubes (until the family friend came up with the idea from the practical notes he had been taking). It seems like the family's focus was on capitalistic and self-serving goals. Their "thoughts and prayers" yielded no results apart from making them "feel holy" without really accomplishing anything. If Finn hadn't been paying attention to the practical needs of his community and making the logical humanitarian connection, the family would not have been helpful in any practical way. Odd considering the bible verses instructing farmers not to harvest every last crop, rather to leave some for the poor to pick from the field. (Leviticus 19:9-10, Leviticus 23:22) It seems like a missed opportunity for the producers to include biblical verses directly related to the topic, but then again modern Christians tend to disdain, avoid and forget any bible verses that may "support socialism".

Yep, my parents have two grapefruit trees and some orange trees that just produce more fruit than the family and immediate neighbors could ever eat. For the past 30-ish years they’ve been taking boxes and boxes of fruit to their church where volunteers add them to boxes of food that go out to needy families. In years where the orange trees go crazy, a couple of the ladies at the church take about half of them (usually the ugliest ones), make orange marmalade, and add the little jars of homemade marmalade to the special Christmas food boxes. I’m atheist so church wouldn’t be my first idea of where to donate all that stuff, but they go to a little church that’s big on donations and volunteering so at least there’s that. And when they first moved in and were drowning in citrus fruits it didn’t even cross their minds to try and sell them or throw them away. Their first thought was “who do we donate them to?” No prayer necessary. No need to wait for their kids to figure it out. Just “how do we get this to hungry people?”

My ex-wife's grandparents had an entire garage that was FILLED floor to ceiling with sweet potatoes.

If the show were realistic, Kip would have simply dumped the leftover cucumbers in a ditch while the homeless cubes starved. Like real life farms in America do when they can't sell all of their produce because free food drives down market value.

The farms would gladly sell them if stores would buy them. And actually a LOT of farmers DO buy the "misfit" fruits and veggies. They're turned into cow feed. Honestly that food going to waste is purely on the shoulders of retailers and consumers. To farmers, not selling it is a loss on money so if anything selling it is far more beneficial to them. They would prefer to sell it over trashing it or just dumping it all in the compost bins.

It's not even a good message about charity, it's a case of "hey, we have an excess of awful shit we can't even give away, let's dump it on the poor"

25:16 i really hate the "i forgive you, son" because it's got the implication that he did something that is worth "forgiving", also has the implication of being judged for a mistake (which BTW you can't just go "hey don't do this thing" without explaining why _not_ to do that thing, and then blame it on the person for doing the thing), rather than like "hey, we all make mistakes, it's okay"

The two smart Christians I know had to start watching livestreams of a church in California because they couldn't find any within driving distance that actually treated them like adults and respected their intelligence. We live in central New York State, what used to be the heart of the Burned Over District: not exactly an area that's short on people or diversity in terms of options for the choosy Christian. The fact that there's seemingly only one Protestant church in the country that doesn't treat its members like children who need parental controls turned on 24/7 really does say it all.

They’re generally good people, who don’t judge others, and are shockingly intelligent… But I have to point out that the overwhelming majority joined the church as adults, they did not grow up in it. It’s also telling that their own children are receiving secular educations, or private ones that they themselves have a very direct hand in. It seems like they just straight up don’t trust their fellow Christians to teach their children…

@@Onyx-qd9tl In my case it's that both of them were raised some sort of Christian and came to radically different understandings of the religion than the ones they were raised with. One of them, my sister, was like me raised Catholic in a family with a grandmother who was more Catholic than the Pope and tried to disown our mother for marrying our Christian Universalist and First Nations father instead of someone who was just as white, Irish, and Catholic as the rest of the family. The other one, my brother in law, was raised by a narcissistic hell-mom who kicked him to the curb when he came out as trans at 16. After two long and complicated stories that involved a stint in the military for him, a stint in the psych ward for her, and a stint in evangelicalism for them both they're now hard and fast Christian socialists in the vein of people like Leo Tolstoy, with my sister recently coming out as anarcho-communist. Christianity has like a whole community network so many get echo chambered. If you watch or read a documentary on the creators of veggie tales you can see some of it. For said communities they tend to view church teaching as reaffirming what they know is right. There is also a social value of being more "Christian" then others. Basically for some they follow the rules faithfully to prove they are better then others. There's many reasons why follow the rules blindly is so valued. Christian revivals have people that came to Christ after going through absolute hell, education and income varies wildly with the church being a big force to prevent crime or hopelessness, and the storied examples of great Christians normally believed when all else was lost. I don't necessarily believe that devotion rules out critical thinking. I also get why people follow the rules, especially when your in some bad straights. The only real conflict is how much of it is for show rather then personal spiritual fulfillment.

I wondered how long it would take for anyone to suggest giving their massive surplus of food to the homeless fire survivors. This story has the "Christian family" praying for them instantly but taking *days* to even think of actually doing something, and even then it's as a solution to one of *their* problems. And this is put forward as an example of charity.

this was so morally bankrupt child labor, child endangerment, negligence. Then questioning things like having pets just to have pets they did not need a purpose yet here they wound up as work animals, to be adopted out to people who would put them to work?. praying for homeless people who needed food while taking literal days to come to the conclusion that they could actually help them and they only thought to help because they had no other use for the food.

The dad contributed pretty much nothing apart from coming up with the idea and selling the cubecumbers, leaving it to his son and friend to do all the donkey work.

It's remarkable how frequently Christians need to be reminded not to enslave children. That sort of thing comes naturally to most non-broken people.

"Have you prayed about it?" It sounds jarring, but this is literally how my closest Christian friends talk and think. One is moving out of state, and when deciding where to move to, was advised by his brother and friends to pray and to see if God was calling him to San Antonio, Texas, or to Chicago, Illinois. I was staggered to hear that these sorts of decisions are apparently also part of God's grand plan.

The problem is in the idea that you need to get God's permission to live your life -- or as the OP says, whether God wants you to move to this state or that. God wants you to be _happy_ and He left it to you to pursue that happiness in your own way.

Nope, you're exactly right about how "wunderkind" is actually pronounced. It always bugs me when people say that wrong.

Man, at least Veggie Tales had a good excuse for the less than stellar animation quality. They were limited by the technology available back then and I'd say that Veggie Tales STILL looks better than Sponge Cube Square Kid over here. Don't tell me they didn't choose to make the main kid yellow and make him look like SpongeBob for no reason at all. I literally though that this was gonna be a sort of land animal SpongeBob rip off when I first saw the thumbnail lol. The voice actor kinda plays Kip with the same pitch of voice as SpongeBob, too. He can't do a decent impression though which is why he just keeps the pitch and tries as best to get the tone of SpongeBob's voice as he can.

Because giving things to others for free , even if you don't need it, is communism (in their eyes). Thats why Catholic church supported every frickin right wing dictator against those annoying hungry workers masses. Just like Jesus would do.

I didn't think it was possible for me to dislike this show concept and the art style any further. But then she started to sing. Was the purpose of the turtles not to be "cute"?... And then she prays for a purpose for the turtles? Okay... I hate the jittery mo-cap movement on those characters as well. Makes it feel even "cheaper".

@@blackbloom8552 I don't really see how "being cute" as an owner chosen purpose for the pet excludes the pet from being a family member, or means that they are just a play thing. 🤔 I personally think that it is self-explanatory that animals are not toys and can not be treated like objects. Buying a pet is a decision that needs to be very well considered, since most pets (cats and dogs) will be around for at least 15 years, in good conditions. The pet will have biological (food, water and environment), mental (a playing partner or other forms of stimulus) and genetically coded needs (like cats need a scratch tree, high observation points and lil cozy caves to hide and sleep in, or dogs really like long walks to simulate the pack being on a hunt or patrolling the turf).

The "moral" of most Christian kid shows generally comes down to "Always Follow Directions!", because obedient little droids is what Christian parents want. Kids gotta be brought up to obey pointless rules, because that's what a religion basically is. I don't think the little girl owns the turtles --- it's established she is raising them for the pet shop, I think.

The "moral" of all secular show comes down to... Do whatever you want, when you want, because it is all about you and how your actions affect others is irrelevant. That's the driving force behind secular politics, education, media, etc ..

The windows flickering is called Z-fighting. It's caused by rounding errors when you put two objects way too close together. It's an issue that needs to be worked around and can't really be fixed on a technical level. But in this case it looks like they put multiple window parts over each other instead of putting in properly sized pieces of window. However the proper way to do a window is just to put a plane there and texture it.

Actually Z fighting occurs when the Gfx card can't decide which of two texture layers to display first because they both have the same world coordinates, whether because one model has intersecting faces or because two models have been placed with overlapping faces. It is not a feature of normal workflow and is very easy to avoid. If you see Z-fighting, somebody made a rookie mistake :)

It's called z-fighting because two things are fighting over the same spot on the z-axis (the one going toward / away from the camera, as opposed to the horizontal x-axis or the vertical y-axis).

I'm starting to think the reason they're cubecumbers is because the producers thought that many protruding, popping up cucumbers would be too phallic for christian kids and might open the show up to ridicule... they failed

Its overall one of the nicer take on atheist but it still commit the mistake of treating people as props for the character development of Christians. The worst part is that basiquelly imply that god create people that will be doomed for hell just to teach you to be a good person. I mean, this is a huge topic; it’s like asking “how are Buddhists and Christians different” or “what’s the difference between democracy and authoritarianism?” Just two completely different systems. (For one example , it’s entirely possible to be a “good Jew” and not actually believe in the existence of God-though I don’t know as Hasids would agree!)

Inverted normals: Check Materials completely lacking normal maps data: check Inconsistent smoothing of model faces: check Freshman quality lighting solution with inappropriate self-shading and hard edges: check Z-fighting: check Warped faces and materials instead of proper animation: check Built in the modelling program instead of a proper engine: check Fastest possible production quality: check Accuracy and impact of the episode message: ambiguous and lost in the rest of the mess. Understandable in entirety by target audience: not really. In all very, very bad. Also, Finn reminds me of Pugsley Addams and is probably the only decent thing in it.

It was done like this because the animator didn't know how to actually animate and moved model edges or UVW coordinates inappropriately. In a way it's endearing, that somebody made this who really had no idea what they were doing.

For much of the episode, I thought Kip was supposed to have braces or something, but the metal brackets were weirdly in *between* his teeth. I finally figured out that something about the lighting program caused the front of his teeth to be in shadow and appear grey, but the beveled sides of his teeth to be bright white and almost shine or glow. So as he talked, those beveled edges looked like silver metal. The lighting was just SO janky.

Oh, and to the point about the dad glowing slightly (kinda): you could tell they were trying to push gender norms just by looking at the character design. The male characters had natural-for-a-human hair colors, but the mom and sister had to have pink hair. It just felt like girls/women aren’t as human as boys/men and girls definitely can’t do boy things (like drive that digger). And Finn is less rough-and-tumble, so we have to make it obvious he has a crush on the sister so no one thinks he’s gay. Why do 5-year-olds need to have a crush on anyone? It’s all just to reinforce gender norms in the little children watching.

"How did no one in the family think of this yet?" Because the lesson is to wait to god to think for you.

As if said god couldn't just insert the idea into your head without waiting days, a la the story of Samuel. Or Joseph the dream prophet, even, in some cases, where you get the idea before there was any reason why you should have thought of it.

After the comment about "draining" turtles, I'm surprised Emma didn't notice the phallic way the cucumber's sprouted.

The 'Training Turtles' song was insufferable but the blues harmonica playing later on was pretty sweet.

Can we talk about how this show promotes child slave labor? Also, I drank too much. I need to drain my turtle.

Judging from the weird one continuous eye, I can only imagine this species of cube people will eventually evolve into Sonic the Hedgehog.

Those cute turtles were the highlight of this and I felt sorry for them being used as beasts of burden. The rest of the animation looked pretty iffy. It was more fun watching your reactions than the actual show itself.

So, Cubedad prayed for his new buisness: didn't get a single advice from Cubejesus (a headsup about not letting his kid do things without supervision would have been great). Then Cubedad and Cubemom prayed about the homeless people: we didn't hear any news about the situtation getting better. Finally, the whole Cubefamilly prayed about, well, everything: nothing happens. At last, the Cubekids use their brain (for once apparently) and choose to give their cubecumber to homeless cubepeople and... exploit the cube tortoises..? And somehow it's "Thanks to the Cubelord"? Is that a parody meant to show that prayers don't do shit but people do, while the clergy attribute people's hard work to Cubegod? Because let me get this straight: the cubecumber catastrophy happened _before_ the homelessness situation. So either Cubegod guide Cubedumbkid into not following the instructions so they'll have cubecumbers for the future homeless cubepeople (so, kids: don't bother following instructions, that's the lesson), either Cubegod made Cubepeople homeless so Cubechrstianfamily could get rid of cubecumbers and cubeturtles, because f*ck all those 50 miscreants maybe. Or... all of this happened without the intervention of Cubegod.

I mean, this is how I was taught that God intervenes and influences your life. Maybe God “inspired” Finn to make notes about the news story. Or maybe God inspired him to look back at his notes in that moment. Maybe God knew the fire was going to happen so he encouraged Kip to be obstinate and spill the fertilizer, thus helping the fire victims *and* teaching Kip a lesson about following directions (somehow). This was how things were always explained to me. God might “inspire” little things or send you signs (and omg, some people see “signs” everywhere) therefore he deserves the credit when things go right because he probably is behind it. I was around 12 when I figured it was bullshit and thought, at first, if there’s a god, there’s no way he/she/it meddles in individual lives like that.

Hi! Don’t know if this will get seen or not, but I’m actually the animator that worked on this. I promise I’m not here to defend or argue anything, because most of it boils down to either it being a kids show, or a difference in faith versus secular. I did want to address the animation though! Because I definitely made a lot of mistakes. Makes me cringe to see a lot of scenes where I just completely neglected something I should have fixed. Usually the eyes specifically. Most of it all was done with face/motion capture, and my job was to translate it to the characters and clean it all up. Though I did hand animate other parts! And while I’m still not perfect, I’ve definitely learned a lot since we did this. Although it wasn’t well received, I’m glad you checked it out! Feedback definitely helps. Also glad you liked Cube Jesus haha. I made that as a joke, but they liked it so much they put it in.

And their Cubic Heavenly Father didst hear the pitiful cubecumber prayer. Lo, it did come to pass that he didst answer. And, he did instruct them to make pickles.

I can’t even. So many Christians I’ve met have been so shocked I’m atheist because I’m so active volunteering in my community. It seems to astonish them that people volunteer because they care not because it’s their duty/obligation or to promote faith through action.

The dad's voice acting is just super unsettling to me, there's no emotion in his voice and his dialogue sounds like an alien trying to masquerade as human lol The turtles are cute though and that backing track with the harmonica goes kinda hard

Giving away something that you don't want that inconveniences you doesn't seem like charity to me; it's using others to benefit yourself. Kind of like handing off your flowers to an older lady for the benefit of your Tiktok video rather than her happiness. Corinthians 13:3 has something to say about this. And I think the whole last 5 minutes of the show was the exact opposite of Matthew 6:2 ! Emma - do you agree ?

You did not get it right - result if the work is sideproduct, the main goal is OBEDIENCE.

the flickering of the windows was because the differently colored glass parts were overlapping and the surfaces were on the same plane, so the rendering software couldnt know which one it should render which means for each frame one part was picked at random to render

I couldn't get past the image of CubeJesus on the wall in the background. I howled and rolled on the floor. Emma, you're right to call attention to this absurdist masterpiece. I want one, too!!!

I can't decide what's funnier, Emma's commentary or the comments section. I laughed way harder than I should have at Emma's concern over the cube turtles! I would love to see more reactions to cringey Christian kid content.

Jesus saves, all others can't afford to do that cause they're living paycheck-to-paycheck.

Maybe they used Blender to make the show and instead of deleting the default cube they said to themselves: "Hey, why not bevel the edges a bit and make a character out of it?" Also, if for some reason anyone is curious about the flickering at 28:20, that usually happens when two overlapping planes are placed on top of each other with the distance being lower than the rounding error that occurs during rendering.

In Japanese supermarkets it's possible to buy cube and rectangular shaped cucumbers. They're traditionally given as gifts on special occasions and they're really expensive to buy, even more so than fresh fruits normally are.

The child slavery is real. Also they didn’t decide to just give the food to the now homeless ppl? They prayed instead. Kinda relates to the lack of gun control and the thoughts and prayers instead of above.

Well, at least my church goes on mission trips to Tanzania to give homeless people food, water, clothes, and medicine. People should know that praying does not make wishes come true.

I asked my very conservative mom if I could cut bangs when I was 14 and she said “….hmmm have you prayed about it?” Really?? No one thought to pickle the cubecumbers??

"Where are we going to store all these cucumbers before we sell them?" "Don't worry, we can eat the ones we don't sell." That didn't answer her question.

Emma - Thanks for the nightmare fuel. It was hard enough living my life with the big G watching. But now, knowing that Cube-Jesus is watching too, good lord! Anyways, another great video Emma (I guess?). And BTW, I'm one of those two people who enjoys a good Foley critique, so thanks for that.

It's refreshing that people from other countries think the idea that people need charity to get through a catastrophe rather than relying on the government is ridiculous... because as an American I didn't even blink at that.

Because if victims have to wait until people have prayed, prayed again, and gone to church before it finally dawns on them they could help, more people than necessary will have died. Imagine if the crews of lifeboats, ambulances, or fire brigades wasted time praying before coming to the rescue.

What a great message for kids: You can’t help people who have lost literally everything unless you’re completely inundated with stuff you don’t want or have any use for. Otherwise…. thoughts and prayers guys

Considering the rest of the quality, I find it hard to believe it was on-purpose, but if it was than that was the best joke in the episode by far

Training an animal is about teach the animal to follow instructions. The over fertilization wasn't directly because of not following instructions, it's because of fight. So, they can just block the road and build statues ?

So, one year we tried to grow cucumbers....and there were TOO MANY! I made pickles, salads, cucumber water, and still had to constantly give them away.

I've just discovered your channel today and I'm really enjoying binging your videos. Funny, sharp and insightful all the way.

I think Emma is just confused about USA culture, we grow cube cumbers it’s why we have English cucumbers those are the roundish ones, kids drive tractors it’s part of their school curriculum along with how to hopefully survive a mass shooting, turtles need to be trained otherwise the pet store will recall them. It’s just an American thing

You jest about the tractors, but in the area of the US where I grew up, there was a high-school vocational school where teens would learn professional farming. So yes, we did have children driving tractors as part of their school curriculum. XD

Yes, plenty of kids on farms would drive tractors, rtvs etc. I thought the girl was going to train and resell them.

@@chainsawtotheheart Having supervised both teens and 4-7 year olds, I can say with some authority that teens have better judgement and decision making skills than 4-7 year olds. Granted if I had to choose between an unsupervised 6 year old and a 14 year old that had two friends egging them on I might give the tractor to the 6 year old...

I think the "background noise" is just another example of how cheap this show is. Listening to their voices, they all sound like they recorded their lines in a garage with beginner microphones.

3:32 I see the eyebrows as sleepy eyes, and the eye-hole as a secret mouth pretending to be eyes, so it can catch it’s prey unawares. Fun Fact: No one wants to be able to count a cartoon’s teeth! T,T EDIT: Ya know, i feel like the secret grotesque pained faces are psychologically disturbing to watch. Like even though you yourself aren’t completely aware you’re staring at a pained expression, your brain still notices it and makes you feel anxious. Like this is a horrible false world we’re trapped in. The people aren’t real. There is something fundamentally wrong with the world, like it’s all a trick by these monsters parading as people.

Have you ever considered covering media you like? Especially things that you think are underrated or relatively unknown? I just noticed you cover a lot of cringe or cursed media and would be curious to see the flip side.

@@thomasm123 I agree somewhat--I think some if the best parts of this video are when she critiques the animation and production. I don't know anything about that industry, so I like it when she points that stuff out. And that is one of her favorite hobbies, right? Animating? I would like to learn more of the technical stuff.

OK, the worst/most disturbing thing about the animation is when the characters blink. Yes, their eye window does close slightly, but the pupil and iris completely collapse as well. It's gross and weird.

I have never laughed so hard at any video as much as this one! Your comments were so spot on, I was crying laughing!!! Love it! This is now one of my favorite videos ever! Nice job Emma!

This was a very entertaining video! Id love to see you do more of these. I don't know anything about animation so I especially enjoy your cringe at the terrifying cartoon. And I love deconstructing propaganda, it is so important, and you present it in a reasonable, gentle, and fun manner. You touched on some of the disturbing themes, but the brainwashing in these nasty cartoons goes very deep. The wholevlilting structure of it is creepy. The shrill sister who discovers her purpose is to breed adorable babies for adoption. The fact that the parents focus solely on what they can sell for money, never once thinking to give freely to all, only interested in getting a return on their investments. The phallic imagery of the popping cucumbers. And after you pointed out the head bump in the foreheads, when their eyebrows move, oh man, I couldn't stand to look at it! Weird stuff, man. There is so much content out there to analyze, and it's entertaining as hell! But also kinda scary. Things are getting vad over here and the Christian brainwashing is in full force. Dark times for us witches. This video was a great laugh!

I've never understood the whole "glory to God" bit. I mean, if you believe in christianity, then God planned all this out before creating the world, and nothing can thwart his will, so everything that happens *is* his will. He wanted this. You're literally thanking him for fixing the problem *he* created! Indeed, he knew you'd thank him, so he created the problem to *get* you to thank him! This is not loving, it's psychopathic.

Their eyes look sunken in, like they've seen horrors the likes of which humanity has never experienced.
