I'm most surprised that this many people knew how to drive a manual!
@Unb3arablePain
8 жыл бұрын
+bliglum Well, as Doug said the clutch on his old Ferrari is more normal than you expect. It's the gated shifter that will get you. Plus all of these people are already moving, he probably edited out the part where they stalled 4.5 times trying to get this torque-less bastard moving. Either that or Doug made everyone learn stick on something else first, or this many people DO really know how to drie stick.
@bartvanriel6767

+Unbearable Pain how is a gated shifter more difficult?
@Unb3arablePain
8 жыл бұрын
Bart Van Riel You have to get it straight in, see all the people messing up in the video? Normal shift gats are like a funnel, they help guide you in. A gated shifter requires you get it directly in. If you're not used it, it will screw you up.

Doug! Somewhere in CA, a very dear friend of mine owns a 360, and lets me drive it every time I visit. Since I have experience with a 4 speed manual, with worn synchronizers, in a '58 Alfa Giulietta Spider, I know how to drive manual cars, no problem. But the 360... It's like tasting rocquefort through the tips of my fingers... Heavenly! Long live manual transmissions, enthusiasts who appreciate them, and generous friends like you! (And my friend)... All the best! Loved the article. Blessings to you! (From Mexico City).

I actually kind-of like that Doug doesn't take himself or his Ferrari too seriously. I am sure a lot of owners do but what is the point of having such an awesome car if you can't enjoy it and share it with your friends. I really don't think any of them trashed it either. In fact, I thought that most were really, really reserved in using the power that was on-hand. I am very pleasantly surprised that so many beautiful young women knew how to drive a car with a manual transmisssion.

@Unb3arablePain

@Unb3arablePain

Hey Doug, dunno if you read all the comments on here, but kudos on sharing your ferrari with your friends. I have driven the F430 and the 458 italia and though they're complete beasts in terms of power acceleration all that good stuff, i definitely feel like I'm missing out on driving a manual ferrari...the "clink clink" of the gear lever coupled with the high revs....must be bliss....if i ever learn to drive stick, it would be to drive a manual ferrari (one day...hopefully).
