If you upgrade your wind speed your probe will read more of the tornadoes. You’re capped at 100mph and those tornadoes you were dropping at is much higher which is why you did not get any readings. I would love to see more of this!

I was gonna say exactly that. When he was upgrading stuff, I kept repeating "wind speed, wind speed, wind speed". Then I let out a huge sigh right after when he said he couldn't get any readings... 😅 anyways, I liked your comment, let's try to put it on top so he sees it.

I did enjoy Drae getting all wound up. That’s always fun.

Drae, you need to upgrade the wind speed, it looked like the max wind speed was capped at 100 mph. You can't measure above that. All of the storms you were trying to capture were much higher than that.

I actually saw Twister in theaters, I'm *that* old. I also grew up in tornado alley, so this gave me a really weird nostalgia. I genuinely enjoyed watching this, and hearing Drae occasionally panicking. I'd love to see more please!

As someone who loved the show storm chasers this is amazing fun fact if a tornado seems to stop moving it’s probably heading towards you.

Can confirm. A few months ago, a tornado went through my town and for a while, it was heading straight towards my house, but it looked like it stopped moving. At the last possible second, it changed direction and we only suffered minor damage (the city was tore up though).

We actaully had a F4 Tornado Rip through our Town a Few Years ago and the City never even activated the Siren and People were just chillin outside and storm chasers were Racing into town yelling at people to get inside because a F4 was coming and it was a Mile away

Turning on the realistic wind would help him as well. He could also boost the graphics of the Tornado itself in the settings. I was just thinking to myself "he'll have it figured out by episode 2."

Twister has been my favorite movie since I was a kid! I want to see more of this!!!

The engine comes down to Torque and N.m. stands for newtonmetres of force (how much towing capacity/ pulling strength you have). In this game, it would be used for how much wind you can handle before you start being dragged in. Speed comes down to the HP (horsepower) with top speed. As stated in a few other comments, your probe isn't upgraded enough for certain tornadoes you were chasing.

It seems to literally Twister the game. The truck is the Jeep pickup that gets trashed by the first tornado. The data pick up sound is effectively the sound FX from when the DOROTHY probes flew. Would not be surprised if one of the truck upgrades is to a red Ram pickup.

So... Drae bought everything EXCEPT the upgrade he needed for F3+ data. 😂

You have to upgrade your windspeed data. You were capped at 100 so anything above that you were not recording. That is why you couldn't get any data from that big tornado that went right by you.

this is a good game to watch. i was expecting 1 tornado at a time like a normal storm but instead we get an extinction event level of tornados and drae in a panic

You can have anywhere from 1-100 tornados at one time in Thais game but anymore than 20 starts killing performance

Is that what that does? I left a message on the steam forums asking about a number of those upgrades. Some of it isn't exactly...intuitive. Some of it's obvious.

Drae, you should play titan chaser! It's like this game but instead of tornados you follow 200 ft tall rock monsters and dragons.

I haven't watched the video yet, but if you're new to the channel, the title of this video is basically Drae in a nutshell!!

Drae, I loved twister as a kid but was terrified of the sirens. Lol I wanted to be a storm chaser when I was growing up and still to this day I love storms and tornadoes though I do wish everyone in towns their safety and well being. This seemed like a fun game though!

Drae intercept is where the tornado will cross your path. If the intercept is at 0 it means the tornado is coming directly to you

Btw, nm basically means the torque of your truck. The more it is the easier it will be to pull away from the storm and will allow to accelerate quicker

It's not the wind speed upgrade, it's your intercept location. That's gotta be like 100m or under for it to pick up good data. That's not the distance to the tornado, that's the distance of you to the location where the tornado will cross the road.

If windspeeds 201 mph or higher, that’s when you know your having a ef5 level tornado

All I can think of is TWISTER 🌪️.

He _almost_ had it figured out. He just thought that when it said 260meters, that was close enough to capture data. he thought getting close to zero was what the game wanted, and not absolute zero.

Not-so-fun fact for Drae and the other non-Americans in the room: The EAS activation sound is federally protected and there is an $8000 minimum fine for improper use. Fox Sports got hit with a half-million fine this year for "Willful disregard of public safety" and ESPN got a 1.5 million fine once. I think the developer might want to obscure that EAS tone a bit more. It's iconic, but a really bad idea to use it in a game.
