I KISSED A GIRL AT MORMON GIRLS CAMP

Ойын-сауық

Gather 'round the fire for some wild stories from Mormon girl's camp. These tales include traumatizing object lessons, "snipe hunting" and getting secretly stoned under the stars. And I even sing my favorite girl's camp song!

Aaaah but that tree blindfold thing. I remember it all. And it’s all being done by people you look up to so much. You’re having this “special” experience with them and it makes it even more imprinted on your psyche. I got the creeps while you were describing it.

Ugh I must've blocked out the girl's camp testimony meeting. We would sit in awkward silence until everyone shared. I seemed to be the only one not trama dumping and crying, especially about true the church is🙃

One thing people in controlling religions may not know: there are churches who don’t need you to believe in God to get something out of it. Almost Judaism as well. But yeah. A lot of churches aren’t that controlling about your personal beliefs outside of that corner of religion.

It all starts with hope. You are on the right track. I also hope that you find your faith again whether it be LDS, Catholic, Evangelical or whatever. God loves all people and he blesses those that seek after him as well as those that don’t.

Also… how are we all singing the same songs across the country… like the I like priests and I cannot lie. I’m in Texas and we so sang that. I get us singing the same primary songs because they are all printed and distributed but how. How does this reach so far? It’s one week and we’re all so far from each other.

I love how she talks about deconstructing Mormonism then continues to talk for hours about deconstructing her incorrect view of LDS doctrine. It’s hard to watch but I wish she had a good LDS friend that can help correct her views and show her that the cultural beliefs she was influenced by in the LDS faith are not LDS doctrine. All of these videos also have undertones that her politics influence her views of religion in general. I would say she doesn’t even understand mainstream Christianity especially after serving a mission and going to BYU. I think you can come back. In fact I have seen a few in my life say the same thing and have come back after deconstructing their faith.

Genuinely I don’t understand the point you made about not being able to choose to believe something. Beliefs are pure choice and so I feel like it’s a choice?

She hopes there is an afterlife but just because you hope for something, it doesn’t make it believable/true.

Sharing your trauma and crying is not a testimony. I cringe when I hear a testimony like that but I also know that none of us are perfect and we are all on different journeys.

You don't need a religious institution to have a relationship with God. Simple.
