Since the ULEZ expansion, ive had 19 ULEZ fines come through in the post. Where 2 totally different cars in London have cloned the plates of my car. Each time i have to appeal against TFL to get the charges dropped. I am told "Plate Cloning" has gone off the scales since this ULEZ expansion. Met Police actually suggested to me that i change the plates on my own car to stop getting fines !. Like really !.

@@mikey_bb yeah one of 6 legal basis. Submit a foi to the police to obtain the legal basis they used. Report to ico if the legal basis used wasn't justified or used correctly. Accountability is the data controller DVLA. The police misuse of data will fall into the professional code of conduct (internal audit so...). But yeah your right absolutely right though, nothing will be done even if it's reported but technically it's bad practice, but any gov department have many loop holes they can fall back on for none compliance without consequences.

Governments seem to forget they work for us, the people.

THE BEST protest I’ve seen for the UK and one of the only protests I agree with. Residents trying their hardest to get back what affects them the most, the government don’t have to worry about travel because us brits have to pay for it!

London has ULEZ, Wales has 20mph! It's getting ridiculous now! Always targeting the motorist for easy revenue!

Emission compliance is based on particulate emission rather than just CO2. NOx emissions are far more harmful to human health than CO2, and diesels produce higher levels of NOx than petrol. So that's probably why your diesel T6 isn't compliant but your 2003 petrol Mini is. Euro 4 for petrol engines and Euro 6 for diesel is the minimum compliance level.

A way around this is for everyone that gets fined must cost the government more than the value of the fine. Don’t pay and it will cost the government money to send a goon to the door. Tell the goon to go away and this will cost the government more money. If a court summons appears, wait until the day you are due in court and become ill, a doctors sick line for stress and depression will do just fine since they can’t force someone to be there if they have a doctors backing, again this will cost them money and at this point it’s probably cost them more than the original fine. When the court date gets rescheduled, get another doctors sick line, and another and another until it’s costing the government way more in lawyers fees than the original fine. If this is done en masse, and it must be done en masse, this government extortion will fail. Remember folks. We are the people, the government works for us, not the other way round

Or stripped for parts up in Leeds, Lincoln and York. Some aren't even given certs of destruction, just offered money to buy, then sold on elsewhere to sell on. It's why Sxxx xxx reg cars from Scotland are common in England down south now. Used to be more of a rarity but the last 2 years they've become more common as Arnold Shart and BCA ship loads of cars south. A lot up there scrapped or sold cars because Glasgow, Dundee, Edinburgh, Aberdeen & Perth all got not just ULEZ zones....but out right BANS for older vehicles. Euro 6 diesels, Euro 4/5/6 petrols are the only cars allowed in the centre of Scottish cities... Used to live in Aberdeen and the city isn't even bad for traffic, let alone pollution. Absolute lunacy.
