'Here I am in America right now, and we're seeing upheavals the like of which we have not seen in centuries.

Janis Ian is awesome. I love her body of work, and her activism. She's a truth teller.

She is awesome! and I'm discovering her works only today, believe or not, here in Brazil 10/12/2023
This song helped me at this age. I was 16 when it came out. I was a typical, confused, teen boy, but it spoke to me.
I’ve substituted “at 62” for 17. The song is timeless.
I feel privileged to have seen and heard Janis, Gracious and tough.
You,re right Janis. It,s sad to see that we haven,t grown up and gotten above or beyond our problems! Seems like we,ve turned out to be a nation of irresponsible teenagers! Your performance of 17 with bass player Richard Bona was very classy!!! Really enjoyed it! So glad to see you do that song!
Yes, good questions, GREAT answers.
I love to listen to you, Janis - you're just a very nice and likeable person.
She is so brilliant and so likeable. We are exactly the same age, and I have been a fan since I was 16.
I like their questions, but I love your answers!
She is still one of the best!
I will love you always Janis. Your music has done so much for me for so many years. 🫶🏼💕🙂
TV achors who have both listened to the music, and can intelligently engage? More of them please!
This new album is a wonderful gift on so many levels. This interview puts a lot of it into perspective. Thanks, Janis, for sitting putting so much love and energy into creating!
Love her
Hugs, Janis... Have loved/ love your music since I first heard you sing... great read your book...
one of the best concerts I've ever seen in San Francisco.
Wise, very wise. ❤️
Hi Janis, I don't know if you remember me, but we had a nice text several years ago. Anyway I loved you and your music since the late 60s early 70s. I still listen to you and I'm 74 years young. Anyhow thank you so much with your songs, they ment a lot!!! 1:01
WONDERFUL, BEAUTIFUL!!! JANIS !!❤❤ Always loved and respected!!
She is great!
Feel so honored to have seen this amazing singer songwriter over 40 years ago live in Dublin
So happy to see she is still doing well.
Right before The Light at the End of the Line was released my dad passed away after a 5 month long battle in the hospital. About two or so weeks later I heard Stranger on the radio. At that point I became a fan and this album now holds a special place in my heart...such beautiful, reflective, soulful music.
It's sad to say that things haven't improved and are in so many ways, worse.
The light at the end of the line, beautiful, still sad/scary, what's it mean...
Adore you Janis. Stil have my 45 inch vinyl. Will check out your latest album. It is entirely possibly the jealousy you experienced was not because you were different on the outside but so very and blessedly different on the inside. We should all aspire to be more like you lovely woman.
Always on point, Janis. Thank you. 🎶🎵 💛🎵 🎶
I saw her at the Westbury Music Fair on Long Island in the ‘70s. She was so awesome.

Live right there
The Light at the End of the Line is a great album!! Thanks!!
Merry Christmas..and Happy New Year all Year..!
I'm so greatful that I found your beautifully heart felt songs. Dawsons Creek brought me to you two years ago. The song was "Day's Like These" Lord thank you for this special Woman.🙏
I am a decade younger than Janis and wished my mind was as sharp as hers.
One Friday, when I taught high school, from the parking lot, I saw two guys locked in what was obviously their last kiss . . . until Monday. The entire football team was headed their way. I got out of my car ready to shift back into teacher mode. The football team jogged past them without any reaction. DIVERSITY WORKS! Janis, it really and truly works.
I look forward to getting your new album when I have some money to buy it. Been listening to your music for decades and by the way, love your earrings! Did you ever have a "live" version of "Letters from Jon?" Love that song!
Didn't know she was still around, have 2 of her records/cd. Please come to Australia.
What a great lady. Fell hopelessly in love with her back in 1976 when i was just a lad. The other side of the sun. Just perfect easy country. Guess we are getting older all of us. Still she got a hold of my hart
"At Seventeen" won the Grammy for Best Pop performance in 1976. After that, Janis never charted again in the US in the Top 40. Crazy.
I admire her work. On a personal level, I admire her manner of aging in a natural way. Janis you did an extraordinary job. Poetry???? A book of Poetry would be wonderful.
excellent
like the way Janis is realistic this girl is talented in the guitar vocals
I love Janis
She's a totally unique gENIUS!!! One of a kind!!!
Go Janis!!! 72 here!
This Lady,is Master pain artist!
I love her take on growing old
❤
All that stuff she said...THERE's SO MANY SONGS LEFT TO WRITE AND TO BE SUNG
Janice has served her duty in humanity as an artist and as a being. I hope she gets to step away and live in a softer gentler manner with her partner and what ever she chooses that brings her some peace of mind in these later years. Knowing she has contributed all she has is beyond what so many others have not and hopefully brings her some solace just for that nuance.🙏🏽
Her song "Resist" should be the anthem for women's rights. It is absolutely fantastic.
before mitski before emo she is lofi study music.
To be fair, she wrote her first song at 13 and had a record deal at age 14. She’s 72 now. Cut her a break, she wants to write other stuff and cannot sing the way she once did. Let her have her retirement!
"At Seventeen" will always be relevant. Times change, human nature doesn't.
Do you see me down here.................. I am weeping afresh , yet my miscarriage was 35 years ago
🤷♀️Someone people are ignorant 🌈In this generation the age does matter the most important is the talent so keep up with the music❤️ [Give your talent away]
funny how on live (non edited) TV, real-talk gets met with saccharine platitudes :/
Great artist but come on the right for equality has well and truly been achieved in the USA and the west. A woman, can more or less achieve anything a man can in modern society. It's a level playing field
First, Janis Ian is hardly a "legend," an her inane comments remind us that we do not esteem artists for their intelligence.
Best female song writer EVER !! Your voice is my home ❤️

You must be kidding
She answered my email, can you believe that? She likes to do that, Hi Janis 👋
