Beastmen IS a classic 40k race. They used to be regular abhumans, like Squats or Felinids, and very skilled and effective soldiers. But then the Inquisition and Mr. 40K decided to demoted them even further to mutants and more or less declaring open season on them. So to survive the majority of beastmen went into hiding and turned to chaos, sadly, because it was either getting constantly killed by dumb humans or becoming a bit tainted by chaos, mostly Tzeentch. When I first heard of this box I really really hoped GW would make a group of still loyal beastmen who went into hiding and became frightened isolationists who refused the temptation of chaos and not just a reskin the fantasy beastmen.

Tzeench of all?

@@viorp5267 yeah, that's why they have extra arms.Tzaangors are just regular beastmen that became a bit extra Tzeentch-ified. Though there, as always, are warbands of Khorne, Nurgle, Slanesh, and Undivided out and about. My memory is a bit foggy when it comes to 40k beastmen, GW haven't really touched their lore in a long while.

I was thinking they were a classic 40k race, fought in the imperial guard with ogryns prior to being a classic chaos force.

Aren't they still considered Abhumans, but particularly repressed ones, closer to humans (or at least somewhat unstable)? Anyway, they have it particularly rough in the Imperium and are thus very likely to turn to chaos, regardless of classification.
I’ve noticed a very steady progression of your general skill over the years. Your choice of colors and tones combined with great contrast and nailing your light sources really sets your minis apart from average to good painters. I also thing your willingness to paint so many different types of models just adds more versatility to your technical abilities!
"A pee brown and a poop green", Jay you need to see your doctor
"ooooh, do you know what that smells like?" had me giggling, but i love your paint jobs and i haven't seen a model you've painted and i haven't wanted so thank you for being an amazing inspiration.

dessert and eons of battle, what a way to end my night
Those are painted amazingly. The blending of the washes is genius
This is one of my favorite paint jobs on the channel so far. Jay, you really knocked it out of the park on this one. Super happy to finally get to see the team that beat Scott!
"It smells like Bloonies" It has been a pleasure, man.
Dang. That’s incredible. I’m so proud of you and your skills. I know I have nothing to do with your abilities. However, after watching almost every video EOB has created, I can’t help but feel involved 🤣
My only critiques with the advertisement: play I’m to sexy while modeling the backpack, should have slapped the pouch with mt. dew and the slap/smashed the dorito pocket. Thanks gents!! Fantastic as always!!!
Hey Jay, how about a video on painting space Marines from each faction, a little guide for everyone getting leviathan this week! Love to see your take on salamanders!
Great video!! More kill teams!!
Looking forward to the video on that herd stone. "Here at Eons of Battle we've been collecting stool samples and mixed it with isopropyl alcohol to make our very own poop goop - But as with all new tools in our inventory, we have to give it the sniff test" 🤢
I dig your enthusiasm!
Those soft colors on such fierce models is a fun combo!
Purty sculpts and lovely PJs.
You did these really well!!! Great
Bro WOW. I saw your year recap and had missed this video. you paint the absolute hell outta these bad boys. 10 outta 10
Really great paint job and video. I think your wash technique turned out incredible.
I love your videos so much. Its gotten me over my anxiety of painting. And I follow along as much as I can. I cannot wait for your website to come to life. I'd buy from you all the time.
Amazing job! They look great. And an amazing video! These are my favorite types of videos you guys do. Just trying something out. A painting video but not a tutorial. Little bit of lore and just all around fun and enjoying the hobby. Plus that back pack is actually pretty rad. 😎👍.
wow, they look so good. Nice job!
These look SO GOOD
One of your best painted models ever !!
Excellent painting! This is a very impressive Kill Team display!
Man these are the videos I love, amazing painting skills!!
I truly hate the ads and sponsorship, but you do a great job on blending them in to your video and theme is usually workable to what you are discussing in your video. Also, the layer, drybrush, shade, and highlight is a good technique. Thank you for sharing.
The rust just activated a Core Memory in Jay
These look great. I really enjoy the quality of the washes and color schemes on these! I'm drawn to the uni-horned gas mask dude most.
Oh man, oh man... i thought this kill team was away from my "want to have" list. Now I see it was just because of GW unispired color scheme. What an amazing job you did there!
Wow! They look SO good! Wish I’d seen this before I started trying to paint mine 😅
I still have a beastman trooper from the rogue trader days (given to me by a grognard) in my imperial guard army
Answer to your question just look at the teeth on the model. If it goat teeth designed for eating hi fibre then it will be pellets but if they carnivorous or omnivorous then regular poops. Hope that helped

Hats off to you, sir for that solid and dead serious answer...!
Love the references you used haha 😂
Absolutely nailed this one dude, they look amazing 😁❤️👍🏻
Great killteam! I might have to try that skin technique.

Average 40k fan when GW drops some hot garbage
😢I was gonna make a beast man traitor guard and now they be releasing this kill team must be written in the stars for me to have a squad of these guys.
I absolutely love this painting
You make painting miniatures look super fun! I've always held back from Warhammer because of my horrid painting skills and there's nothing like the foreboding feeling of sinking lots of money into something I'm going to trash with my non skill. With that said I'm a week away from purchasing my first kill team boxes.
Says "a cute little lamb" then proceeds to show a picture of a kid..... 😂
golden demon entry 2024 when? jay you are so freaking talented and aspire to be 1/5 as good. have you ever considered entering a golden demon???
Work that runway Jay!!
I would love to see warcry beastmen warband from GW
that is the best squad paintjob you've done in so long, Jay - outstanding stuff!!
"I googled pictures of Goat" 🐐 😂
I love the rust wash. I use it on terrain and base pieces like barrels.
LOVE how the skin came out.
They look super sweet
That is epic stuff, the Hoves!!!
Nice paint job. You are getting better and better all the time. I loved the tips you gave on using the dirty down. You could've put a couple of piles of pellet like poop on the bases, although I don't know how readable that would be.
Great work on the new branding on the channel, looks great
Damn! You nailed this one!
The lamb theme 😂 I love your videos man
Wow, that looks incredible. I love the fur effect, I’m going to try that on my beastmen
That goat skin looks great. Good job!
love the beast men! Jay, you really have to stop showing off cool merch that I cant resist... first the case... now the back pack... 😩My wallet cant handle it!!
Great video as usual 👌
Christ bless you, that lamb is really cute
holy moly that backpack is bigger than a space marine's one, totally meme worthy
Hey Jay! I love your channel it’s my favorite warhammer KZread channel your a true master at painting I was watching your (get out of hobby debt) video we’re you painted a age of sigmar silvaneth army but you also had a death guard box set I don’t know if you painted it or not but I would be very happy to see you paint mortarian in your style and if you already have I’m very exited to see the result I loved this Video and think that this paint job is incredible thank you
Wow. These goats are gorgeous.
I've been enjoying painting the Beastmen. Great detail and fun to assemble! I may or may not be scrap building a poop-covered herdstone...
Woah those turned out amazing! Great work, and your use of the Dirty Down rust worked peeeeeerrrrrrfectly! What was the start-to-finish time involved?
Beastmen have been painted sweet. I love those guys
Since the skin is mostly translucent washes, you may get away with putting down arteries and all sorts of green and blue tones- maybe even bruises. Like 2d pencil art starts with all sort of crazy colors to achieve skin
I'm convinced he is just memeing on us now Dude pics out the largest brushes known to man
Talking about the logistics of squad painting combined with interesting techniques like the layered washes are my favorite kind of video to watch. Edit: Miniac did a video a while back about color theory and this scheme seems like a good example of what he was talking about.
Jay's sniff test of the Dirty Down paint had me remembering that there is a safety warning on those bottles; about needing eye protection and gloves. Here's me cringing when he brings it up to his face.
I Painted mine with flesh tearers red, inspired by Diablo II Fallen Ones from act I, and also used Dirty Down Rust for lazy metal.
Love that backpack… not available in Amazon Germany though…
Try Vallejo black mettalic as drybrush over the rust, looks amazing
Those freakin B’loonies have melted through some legos of mine, they are no joke toxic sludge!
@EonsOfBattle Thank you very much, that was a treat! I was on the fence about this team but after your video, i had to buy, build and now paint them. I absolutely fell in love with the painting scheme. I have 3 question. First - would it be possible to use Lahmian medium instead of Jo Sonja Magic Mix? Second- After the skin is washed and finished, you start highlighting. But what color is put on the cloth/leather/horns/gong to give it this grey-brownish look? At 3:28 Third- the highlight itself was made with the skinmix. Is it just the basecolor and white or the Basecolor-medium-mix and white? Sorry if the questions a a bit dull, I never painted befor. Thank you very much for this tutorial, it was a sheer pleasure.
Coming from tropical Australia, I can tell you that the temperature has absolutely nothing to do with the mixing ball sticking to the bottom of the dirty down 😂
Oh boy i may try to Proxie this KT but with Oozes! Like the ones Tabletop Witchcraft made in it's sewer video
I hope they release more Beastmen. They are my favourite thing about Fantasy Warhammer
When I bought my jucoci miniature case they only had some weird wood grain ones in stock. I want some sweet plastic windows 😯
ima use this popular thing, has sniff test, appropriate, core memory unlocked....
Hi Jay, i've been pretty inspired by this paint job and am putting a bit of a spin on it. I just wanted to understand if there was a reason for the flesh wash before the dry brush step, instead of after? or was it a decision made during the painting?
You can get some gnarly texture rust effect with the Dirty Down by blasting the surface with a heat gun or hair dryer first, then quickly slapping the paint on (presuming it hasn't been mentioned yet).
Wish we would see some more beast man stuff from the setting like the few loyalist beastmen
Had me dying when you sniffed the dirty down 😂 you should be careful, the ethyl acetate in there is no joke
Hi! I have an old airbrush and that sideways cup for bottom feeding, shown at 1:21, would be wonderful for me. Any idea where to find it or what airbrush is being used?
4:41 Are those eBay Miniature Rescue Casey's indoor sunglasses being modelled there? 😎 This paint job really makes the Beastmen minis look great.
i wishi hadnt just finished my friends warhammer fantasy beastmen army, this paint scheme would have been nice - also poop rock build and paint video when?
"I've never painted fur before" the Star Wars Legion Ewok minis start crying, forgotten in the back of a cupboard
Could be interesting to try and kitbash some loyal goat guardsmen. 🤔😄
Awesome
What happens if you paint a base color for the skin with bright arteries, then glaze in a coat of translucent paint (varnish?) and then do the washes on the skin. So there is a micrometer of distance between the layers
Nothing beats a spicy dish of curry and goat with rice. 😋
MARY HAD A LITTLE LAMB! *chaos screech*
This might sound dumb. But how do you keep your brushes to stay pointy like you have. I’ve done paint brush soap and mine still flay or split into two points. Thanks
I find it hard to believe that Jay hadn't used dirty down before this video. I'm shocked
One local store near me somehow has not one but TWO gallowfall boxes.
Where do you get those basing bits like the skulls on spikes etc?
When you said “it smells like baloonies!” I was thinking “that’s a shame I’ve got no frame of reference for…” And then you showed an image of them, and I had a rush of memory, trying to blow a bubble from the paste, losing the straw that came with them, trying to use a normal straw, and never getting a truly good bubble again.
