I found, what I thought Max would enjoy destroying, paper umbrellas at The Christmas Tree Shoppe. But guess what, Max is terrified of them!!
Жүктеу.....

Pity that cockatoos only fluff like that when feeling threatened or uncomfortable. Cuz that's where they look the most adorable.

The umbrella got bigger, which mimicked a bird aggressively fluffing up in a threat display, so he's returning the threat display to warn it off.

this shows how much this bird has bonded with you ... even though the offending yellow thing was still in the room, you were able to calm him down. So happy you know how to make him feel safe and loved. Your such an amazing Daddy to Max!

You never can tell what will freak birds out. My cockatiel had no problem with me vacuuming around his cage, but if I wore a new pair of pants, it was a 50/50 chance he would go berserk.

Trying to look intimidating, but it doesn't work when you're wearing a pink suit.

That is the weirdest defense mechanism I have ever seen. I'm just going to fluff up and sway... :D

"Toes, toes, toes, belly and a belly and a beak beak beak". That is all it took to calm Max down. What a wonderful and comic bond you have! <3

If I was a domesticated bird, I would want to have an owner just like Max's. Two sweethearts.
