This is a fantastic video. On the surface it's about graphical changes, but it's really a strong lesson about letting go of something that had a lot of work put into it. Thank you for the video. (and what an upgrade!! totally matches the feel! Can't wait!)

Awesome. Honestly I was never a huge fan of the old design, but now I am fully on board - the game is starting to look SICK! And the new design is going to appeal to your target audience, I think (metalheads like you and me). I also get that same rush when I get to playing my game. That little tickle you felt when you first imagined what it'd be like to finish and release the game of your dreams ... it's like a reminder of that feeling.

This looks so much better now. The animation and character design are a perfect fit! Character hair and clothing weight is something I want to do too.

Even with the exact same player statics (attack damage, defense, jump force, etc) the new look makes it feels waaaaay stronger, faster and more bada**. Great improvement! Congratulations!

Aww mann I hate to say it but I really loved the previous design! I loved how he looked like he tried to be a viking so bad but doesn't really quite fit the stereotype with his shorter skinnier posture making him more unique. That's just my opinion though in the end the thing that matters the most is that you are satisfied with the endproduct!

The new character is a beast, love it. Noticed that he comes out of those bloody battles clean, would be sick to see some blood splatter from the enemies on his face and body after.

I'm currently adding blood to just the axe head for a few secpnds. I did some early tests on the body blood with frame matching and shaders, but couldn't get it quite right. Will keep exploring. I agree, needs something!

Been watching videos for I think a year now waiting for this game to release. I play a lot of shooter games but my child hood had a lot of platformers and for some reason your game perfectly touches all the notes on a game in this genre that I love. Excited to do a playthrough and see how the game does when released :)

Man this looks awesome!! I’m guessing you’ve already found a music composer at this point in development, but if you haven’t, I’d LOVE to chat and send you my demo reel. Medieval fantasy/tribal/Viking-ish music is my favorite genre to work in. I do code/SFX integration in Wwise too for dynamic interactive music. Anyway, I’ll definitely be watching these dev logs! Excited to see how it unfolds.

I love how you are using Adobe Animate for graphics, there has always been something so awesome about this, and it allows you to hold onto just a little bit of that "Flash feel" from the olden days because drawing in that application was always so great, smooth lines, easily manipulated, tween... Really like the solid look and effort put into this fantastic looking game. The main character being able to collect Viking helmets & sword / axe upgrades if not already there would be good. Maybe the Jelly monster having realistic blinking eyes and arms may work too. Although I get the retro look there. One thing that really draws me to a game is variety of creative colourful characters & enemies and creative bosses - A charging bull would be awesome here.

This is looking great 🔥. I've always had an idea to be able to throw the weapon at the enemies as if it's Thor's Mjölnir and also be able to change your weapon on the character.
