I completely agree with what you’ve exposed about women pastors and/or elders. As a matter of fact, I declined the position of first elder in my church last year because I agree with what the Bible says about this matter. However, I want to work on whatever is God’s will for me. So, I still preach as a laywoman, and I also teach sabbath school and give biblical studies. Please, tell me what is the biblical position about these duties, as well. (Although, I’m afraid I already know the answer to this question.🥺). Another question would be: What are some duties that women can take in the church without going against what God says? I don’t want to be a benchwarmer!

Completely wrong theology to be honest. Women are not to submit "because our submission shows who Christ is". Women are to submit because it's a behavior TOWARD Jesus...it's a treatment OF Jesus....it's either rebellion or love TOWARD Jesus the Person of God...submission is not issued as what a follower must do so that Christ is shown.....it's issued as what a follower must do because that is what Jesus wants as the feminine is never head over the masculine....it's simply a hierarchy of equality that when followed gives love back to God, for He Loves us first of course, and then opens up massive Blessings sometimes...but never is obedience about putting God on display...the first purpose of all obedience is to actively and heartfully in spirit and in truth return Love to Jesus' heart for the Person that He Is. No point in obeying if that's not the motivation...as any obedience without love is simply being a white washed tomb. The man is an equal partaker of the requirement to "submit", so it's really an ugly rebellion to think that women are somehow singled out....EVERY facet of sanctification requires submission for each gender..submit to pure thinking, pure behavior, submit to resist arrogance, submit to resist lust, submit to resist coarse language, submit to not repaying evil for evil, and certainly....submit to not committing idolatry of making oneself the authority to follow in matters of dispute between spouses...the husband is to submit to laying his life down for the sake of his bride...just like Jesus does...and that's a whole lot more appealing and unhindered when the woman is equally submitted to Jesus to honor Christ's call to faith that His Way has an inherent design of Blessing and Correction in it in that when the woman IS submissive, it can open up feelings of respect, which in turn open up feelings of reciprocating in love in the ways that a woman needs in each woman's individual makeup in each unique dynamic of marital relationship, and if the husband is a bonehead, it still can be a tool of correcting that man by giving to him what he doesn't "deserve" just like Christ did for all sinners....and that form of Grace received by the husband can have a humbling effect, an encouraging effect, unless that husband is set on rebellion and the flesh....but no evil for evil....obedience to show love TO Jesus....for He is the Savior and worthy of obedience despite how a husband treats his wife....and God always keeps His Promise to Bless obedience...but certainly He enjoys keeping those Blessings a secret at times and giving far beyond what we ask or think....but never focus on "showing Christ"....focus on loving Jesus the Person....otherwise it's just a show and hypocrisy.

@@boricuadetorontocanada You Are Correct... ! The issue of women serving as pastors or in leadership roles within Christian churches is a matter of interpretation and theological debate among different denominations and scholars. The Bible contains various verses and passages that are often referenced in discussions related to this topic. Here are a few key passages from the New Testament that are frequently considered: Galatians 3:28 (NIV): "There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." This verse from Galatians is often cited to support the idea that in Christ, there is no distinction between male and female, implying that both genders have equal spiritual standing. Romans 16:1-2 (NIV): "I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a deacon of the church in Cenchreae. I ask you to receive her in the Lord in a way worthy of his people and to give her any help she may need from you, for she has been the benefactor of many people, including me." In this passage, Phoebe is referred to as a "deacon," which is a term associated with leadership and service in the early church. Some argue that this suggests women held significant roles in the early Christian community. To understand the cultural background of 1 Timothy 2:11-12 and the context in which these verses were written, it's important to consider the historical and cultural factors of the early Christian community in Ephesus, where Timothy was serving as a leader. This background can provide insight into why these instructions were given: Ephesus was a Greco-Roman city: Ephesus was a prominent city in the Roman province of Asia (modern-day Turkey). It was known for its rich history and Greco-Roman culture. In this cultural context, traditional gender roles and hierarchies were prevalent, with men typically occupying positions of authority and leadership. Influence of Artemis worship: Ephesus was famous for the Temple of Artemis (Diana in Roman mythology), which was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Artemis was a powerful and revered goddess in the region, and her worship played a significant role in the local culture. Her priestesses held important positions in the religious life of the city. Specific issues in the Ephesian church: The letter of 1 Timothy was written by the Apostle Paul to address specific issues and challenges facing the Christian community in Ephesus. Some scholars believe that there were false teachings or disruptive behaviors in the church. In this context, Paul may have been addressing concerns related to the authority and roles of women within the congregation. Given this cultural background, some interpretations suggest that 1 Timothy 2:11-12 may have been intended to address the disruption caused by certain women who were possibly influenced by local customs or Artemis worship and were taking on teaching or leadership roles inappropriately. Paul's instructions may have been a way to restore order and maintain the authority structure within the church in Ephesus. It's important to note that interpretations of these verses vary, and scholars and theologians have different perspectives on whether these instructions were intended as universal principles or were specific to the unique circumstances in Ephesus. This cultural background provides context for understanding why these instructions may have been given but does not necessarily dictate their application in all Christian contexts today. Different denominations and scholars interpret these verses differently, resulting in varying practices regarding the roles of women in the church. Pst Lave ( Switzerland ).

A pastor's wife and eventual widow contributed to our church in multiple ways. She was a soul winner and shared the Gospel to thousands. This woman was used to lead me to full assurance of Salvation when I was 16. She taught the following: children's class and woman's class, and she witnessed countless times to people in a one on one setting. She was never a deacon or a pastor. I don't have any problem with only man speaking from the pulpit, but that because being pastor and speaking the word of God is not a goal, but a role of service and of great responsability. It is better not to speak at all if you are not truly lead by God. I object though that Jesus uses anyone to speak his word. It is not a prerogative of men. The Lord uses men, women, children because it is not a matter of gender or age. The person is just an instrument in the hands of the Lord. So it doesn't matter who is speaking, because the word of God has to come from the Lord not from the person. That's why when I hear men saying with strength and pride that they don't let women speak, I think they are wordly and not spiritual ones.

@Sinja there were plenty of men in the Old Testament. You must be reading a different Bible. Judg.4 [1] And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the LORD, when Ehud was dead. [2] And the LORD sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, that reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose host was Sisera, which dwelt in Harosheth of the Gentiles. [3] And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD: for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel. [4] And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time. [5] And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment. [6] And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedesh-naphtali, and said unto him, Hath not the LORD God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun? [7] And I will draw unto thee to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin's army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into thine hand. [8] And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go. [9] And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the LORD shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh. [10] And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; and he went up with ten thousand men at his feet: and Deborah went up with him. [11] Now Heber the Kenite, which was of the children of Hobab the father in law of Moses, had severed himself from the Kenites, and pitched his tent unto the plain of Zaanaim, which is by Kedesh. [12] And they shewed Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam was gone up to mount Tabor. [13] And Sisera gathered together all his chariots, even nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people that were with him, from Harosheth of the Gentiles unto the river of Kishon. [14] And Deborah said unto Barak, Up; for this is the day in which the LORD hath delivered Sisera into thine hand: is not the LORD gone out before thee? So Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him. [15] And the LORD discomfited Sisera, and all his chariots, and all his host, with the edge of the sword before Barak; so that Sisera lighted down off his chariot, and fled away on his feet. If you don't understand that God inspires whomever He chooses, you're not understanding the Bible. Whenever God was with Israel, they were victorious. If God wasn't with them they lost the battles. Do you not understand that God always intervened for things to work in their favor? No matter whether men or women led Israel, it was God Who was causing them to be victorious. God controls hearts and minds. The problem with people thinking they control situations is that those people are dreamers and not people who think realistically. Have you ever read Joel chapter 2? The Prophet said that in the latter days, God will pour out His Spirit on sons and daughters. Preachers and everyone in general "need" to understand that God makes the decisions as to who He chooses to lead.

I answered a call to preach some 20 years ago with much trepidation as I wanted to stand on the Words of Scripture found in 1st Timothy 2. I preached for several years until personal circumstances dictated a change and I praise God that I no longer preach from a pulpit. I had heard John MacArthur and Kay Arthur on this topic and my heart was torn because I did not want to disobey God. As I said I no longer preach and God is using me in His service by giving me a Helps Ministry that I enjoy immensely. I never believed in women pastors and did not aspire to be one. I suggest my short and free essay on Deborah. Men and women are perfectly equal spiritually. She was a pastor, according to the scriptures. This is how the Judges are described in Chronicles, by God. A woman could only be given the authority by God to execute a man for his sin, if women are spiritually equal to men. A Judge could judge homicide cases according to Deuteronomy. Therefore Deborah, as a Judge, could execute a man for his sin. A Judge was cleared to teach from scripture as he/she gave a verdict, according to Deuteronomy. Since in Judges 4, men went to Deborah to be judged, a woman could teach men, even in the Old Covenant in a public setting.

@@deejieweejie815 Why the hate, sir. So John Henry makes a buck or two off of his work. For the Scripture says, “YOU SHALL NOT MUZZLE THE OX WHILE HE IS THRESHING,” and “The laborer is worthy of his wages.” This channel offers cogent commentary along with the clips. And if Pastor MacArthur at all determined himself to be abused by John Henry's fair use, he or his organization would most certainly take all appropriate actions to remedy the situation. As this is not the case, be at peace, brother. God's blessings, good sir.

@@sidneyhill7064 Since a woman could be a pastor in the Old Covenant, a woman can be a pastor in the New Covenant. Simple really.

One being the ordination of a female 'elder' - I strongly rebuked leadership on my way out, since such women are in rebellion towards God, yet being allowed to behave this way. At my new church home, this ungodliness doesn't fly. They've had no trouble enacting Biblical church discipline in the past, so I can assume they won't hesitate should any of the women attempt such nonsense. Nothing makes my blood boil more than apostacy and the lies of Satan being tolerated in the visible church.

I will say this. A man who lived or does live a few miles away from us He was a very strict Christian. He had His Tv on watching a Christian station and a lady was preaching. It upset him to the place He reach over and started to turn the TV off to keep from watching her. He said the Lord spoke to Him and told Him to not turn her off that He will use whosever He wills. It changed the mans attitude toward women. Who was the one who delivered the message to the disciple when Jesus arose. And who told her to go tell the Disciples? I think people will see soon that God will use whoever he wills and man better not try to Hinder what God is doing.
