It looks the same as mine, and I just recieved it for Father's day. It's supposed to be uncharacteristicly more flexible, this way it doesnt break off if it gets snagged onto something. You're good bossman enjoy!!

I've been wearing a G-Shock for around 25 years. They always say that when you put on the watch ensure that you can put a finger in between the strap and your wrist so as not to put pressure on the strap and connector's.

Hi Jim. Thank you for posting an update on the repair that Casio Service did to your Rangeman. It looks like maybe Casio Service Center either replaced the screws with brand new screws or they did something to repair the threads that the screws go into on the watch case. It’s hard to tell without Casio Service being more detailed and specific about the repair that they did to your Rangeman. However, I’m glad that you got your Rangeman back after it being in service for the last 2 months. Hopefully, you will not have anymore problems with the screws and lugs on your watch. Im very excited to hear how your Rangeman will hold up while you’re wearing it at work and at home repairing your F-150 pickup truck 🛻. Hopefully, everything will be good with your watch from here onwards. It’s good to hear from you. Hope that you are keeping cool down there in west Texas from the extreme heat. Looking forward to seeing in your next video how well your Rangeman will hold up now that it’s been repaired and back on your wrist. God Bless.

I’m thinking the same thing. There’s no way to repair the plastic threads inside the lugs if the threads are stripped. The only solution would be to replace the entire watch case with a brand new watch case.

I once stripped the threads on the cover when I replaced a battery on my Gshock. The screw would spin and spin but doesn't tighten. I learned that you can take a small piece of copper wire and put it in the threads and tighten. It operates on the same principle with wood screws and you put a dowel inside the hole. You can get a small piece of copper from scrap electrical wire. Just strip the plastic off and unwound it...

This screw issue makes me wonder if this is why some of Casio's watches have pins next to the screws that prevent the strap from rotating in the "end links". Personally, I think the lack of rotation decreases comfort, but they probably made it that way for a reason.

I was sure 300% that ''kneecap'' is a reason, or exposing to the harsh chemicals (like diesel, which I'm still sure it's not good for a watch, at all).....but basically every G square have that kneecap, it's a bit wider but design wise is very similar, and absolutely nothing would happen to the square no matter what, even to the 41 year old square....a rubber will desintegrate after about 20 years but it will not break around the screws....and also, I got no clue why the monstrous screws design is better than the good old springbars. I'm still sure that a screwing a giant stainless screws in the plastic is a very bad idea. And also, by my experience with the carbon fiber bands, there's no way that the carbon fiber band will act like that, it's a couple of levels above. Speaking about the bluetooth levels, it would be nice to have some type of a airplane mode inside every bluetooth watch, where the bluetooth is disabled no matter what...(which could be useful in the real aircraft, or in the hospital). I don't think that a diesel destroys the plastic, but it could soften the seals, and that watch is full of seals everywhere, and at the end, the intrusion of some liquid will destroy the watch. To be honest, I don't feel any slop in the joints, or play in the band in any of my watches.

Who knows if the kneecaps are the issue causing the screws to loosen up inside the plastic lugs. I believe the real problem lies with the threads inside the lugs being plastic. The plastic is so easy to become stripped if the screws are not screwed in straight or if they are overtightened. Casio needs to put metal inserts inside the plastic lug holes that have threads in them to be able to screw the watch band screws into the metal threads. The same goes for the older original first generation Rangeman of 2013. The original first generation Rangeman had issues with the lugs breaking off. They used to break when stress was put on them. The new Rangeman probably might have the same problem. I could be wrong about this, but only time will tell. The new Rangeman is still an excellent G-Shock. I purchased and own a couple in all black and also in yellow. I love ❤️ them.

@@georgeg1947 I appriciate your opinion buddy, but a love has nothing to do with a truth...and a truth is that's a bad design....at the G square instead of those band screws are the bezel screws, which is much better, and a huge metal screw in the plastic is the extremely bad idea, as I said...a metal inserts inside the plastic lug? You want that watch to be a 5 kg watch? More metal, like it's not heavy enough? In my Gravitymaster GPW-2000 there's no metal inserts anywhere, a huge screws screwed inside the carbon fiber band, and it works like a charm, inside my Rangeman GPR-B1000 a same thing, with some little addition of the carbon fiber insert piece between the lugs since that's a real monster....both of them are the carbon fiber bands, and there's no problem...look, I'm saying from my own experience....oh yes...my Mudman GW-9300-1JR also the same thing, a huge screws in the carbon fiber band, no problems at all

@@termit520The original GW9400 Mudman was a bad design too. The lugs used to break and snap off. I own a few GW9400 G-Shocks that I purchased in 2013. Mine don’t have that issue. The new gpr-h1000 is still a good G-Shock. I believe that it’s a very durable watch just like the gw9400 is a durable watch.

@@georgeg1947 Unfortunatelly bud, there's no space for a belief in my world....I believe only in a facts. In my opinion, which of course doesn't have to be correct, that new Rangeman is just a bad quality watch, that's it...I don't think it's durable. For example, a band from that Rangeman looks like a cheap toy compared with the genuine carbon fiber band from my ''War Machine'' Mudmaster GWG-1000....even though I've put some Jays and Kays adapter and a strap, since I like it to be lower at the wrist. I think a quality issues, maybe even a ''biomass'' is affecting a modern plastic Casio watches....a lot, and also including the ''software'', ''updates'' and all those disgusting issues. My yellow GAB-2100 Banana is also the extremely disgusting thing, very low quality watch (modern Casio off course)....but I bought it cause I love the colour....I don't think it would survive a real using in the harsh conditions....sometimes I got a feeling it will just melt down at the sun...everything about that watch is bad, low quality, cheap, disgusting, except from the colour, which is the reason why I bought it.

@@termit520 Your gab-2100 is made in China and that’s why it’s cheap and low quality. The non Bluetooth ga-2100 is made in Thailand and is better quality. Also, the original first generation Rangeman did have a problem with its lugs breaking and snapping off. It’s been well documented online in the Casio watchuseek forums.

@@ltlmoney6996 I’ve had my gpr-h1000 Rangeman now for about 2 weeks and when I received it from Japan, the display had 5 bars of battery level on it out of the box. I spent a few hours playing with the watch with the Bluetooth turned on to understand the features. The battery level went down to 4 bars from 5 bars because I was using the watch for a few hours with the Bluetooth on. I then put the watch into airplane mode and kept it on airplane mode for almost 2 weeks and my Rangeman still shows the battery level at 4 bars. I’ve been wearing my watch for 24/7 ever since I received it and the battery level has not moved below 4 bars. I have all the health and fitness features on the watch turned off ever since I received the watch. I don’t care for the health and fitness features and I don’t use them at all. I strictly use my Rangeman for the time, the world time, sunrise/sunset times, moon phase, world time, stopwatch, countdown timer, compass, barometer, altimeter and step counter. All these functions that I’ve listed here that I use are powered ONY by the solar panel that’s located below the crystal. They are NOT powered by Bluetooth. Also, I’ve NEVER EVER recharged my Rangeman. Never. I just let the natural sunlight and the ambient lighting charge it. You will NEVER need to charge the Rangeman if you put it in airplane mode like I do. Also, one more thing. You can automatically turn back on the Bluetooth on your watch just by turning off the airplane mode. I don’t do that because I don’t need to use Bluetooth. I have no need for Bluetooth. You can also just put your Rangeman in POWER SAVE MODE. The power save mode will keep your Rangeman working so you can see the time, day, date, month, seconds and the battery level. Power save mode will not allow you to go through the modes to use the compass, the world time and basically all the features that I listed above here that’s run ONLY by the solar panel underneath the crystal. You can turn power save mode on by pressing and holding the bottom right button on the Rangeman to be able to use all the features that are ONLY powered by the solar panel. So all in all, my Rangeman will NEVER EVER need to be charged with the USB cable because all the features that I listed above are powered ONLY by the solar panel. This watch can run forever if it’s exposed to a little light. It works 100% independently without needing the internal battery if you have it on airplane mode and use ONLY all the features that I listed above that I use. If you need to use the health and fitness features on the watch, you will need to turn the Bluetooth on. The Bluetooth can drain the battery depending on what feature(s) that you use and how long that you use the feature(s). The rechargeable battery inside the watch is a big 3.7 volt battery. It’s a big battery and because it’s big it can last a very long time. I personally like the Rangeman and I enjoy wearing mine 24/7. It’s a very beautiful G-Shock and I also believe that it’s very durable too. It’s mud resistant and 200 meter water resistant. It’s a workhorse of a watch. I don’t have any complaints about the Rangeman. It’s an excellent watch. I recommend the Rangeman to you. You will not be disappointed if you purchase this watch.

@@ltlmoney6996the answer is no if you turn on the airplane mode. The airplane mode shuts off the Bluetooth. The watch can be powered with the solar panel. All these functions that I listed here are powered ONLY by the solar panel. The ONLY features that run and that are powered with the watch’s internal rechargeable battery are ONLY the health and fitness features. The watch will never need to be charged for the watch features that I listed above if you put the watch in airplane mode and use those particular features. But with if you use the health and fitness features, you will need to turn the Bluetooth on because all the health and fitness features work together with the Bluetooth. Even the GPS. You will eventually ONLY need to recharge the internal battery after a week or two if you use the Bluetooth features. Some features like the GPS and the heart rate monitor will lower the battery level by one or two bars while other Bluetooth features will not affect the battery’s level. It all depends on which health and fitness features that you use and how long that you are using the features. But if you don’t use any of the health and fitness features and have the airplane mode turned on, you will NEVER need to charge the Rangeman. The solar panel will do the job to keep your watch fully powered.
