I Got Spanked At My First GNCC After a Wicked Start

Спорт

Last weekend I had the opportunity to race the Camper Coker GNCC thanks to Jesse Ansley and his wonderful girlfriend Taylor. I raced the Junior A (25+) class and was quickly humbled. After pulling a phenomenal start, I proceeded to work my way backwards for 3 hours. This was a completely different type of riding from anything I'm used to and the 450 was a handful, but I'm stoked to have finished in one piece! Congrats to Jesse for a 7th place finish in the XC2 pro class.

Damn dude I wish I would have known you were there. This is Kalan. I used to work at Blitz last year. I was the older dude with the shop Husky dog Willow. I've moved back to Va. for a bit but I was at that race. If you come back east again let me know. I lived at Snowshoe for 6 years before moving to Bozeman. I'll be going to that race and a few more GNCC's this year, You need to get a Beta! Come back again and my 300RX is yours for a race! How did you like all those trees?

What's up man! Would've been sweet to see you out there. The trees were gnarly! I thought I was more prepared for this race than I actually was, but like I said in the video just never found a flow! Appreciate the offer to rip the 300 for a race - not sure if coming back out is in the cards for me this year, but can let you know if that changes! Feel free to get my contact info from Ryan or shoot me a DM @kincadepavich or email kincadep@gmail.com. Thanks for checking out the video too!

My buddy Andrew Boggs runs that class and he's damn fast too. He finished 5th in class & 83rd overall. That place always gets whooped out no matter what. You should run the Snowshoe round. I guarantee that it doesn't get all whooped out. 😊

450 seems like the wrong bike for that tight course. You did well to hang on to it.

I am thrilled I had the opportunity and a bike to ride, but I agree with that statement - a 450 would not be my first choice for this course. Still stoked I was able to do it though!

Those 1st 2 crashes happen all the time in this kind of racing you gotta 1 learn to move out the way 2 learn not to get so upset over it those don’t make or break a race if both riders are okay get up and keep moving forward you’ve got 3 more hours to go plenty of time to make up for it (no hate just letting you know since I’ve done this kind of racing for a little while now)

In my opinion (C class Official Goon) he shouldn't have passed there. Although you can argue that "he is the faster rider", he still should have a brain on his head. One second further he could have passed you on the inside.

The first one where the guy put me into the tree was just plain stupid. He had no business even attempting a pass there in my opinion. Second one later on, the guy miscalculated and I was trying to pull over to let him by. Both were dumb though in my opinion. Granted, if I were going faster neither would've happened haha!
