Same thing happened to me and the worst thing is seeing other people get in and it’s so awful and toxic of me but I can’t help thinking that I worked harder than them and am just so jealous

@@rebeccalerner4669 I completely understand and have felt the same. Back in 2018, I was applying for an animation college I aspired to be in. I'm the first person in my household trying to go to college, so dealing with college applications, FAFSA and financial aid were all new and tedious for us. When I submitted my first application, I had high hopes of making it in- but of course I had been rejected. That left me feeling worthless and angry, but I choose to just work a day job to help build up whatever money I could. I tried again the next year, and this time I made sure to submit early. The weight of the letter the second time felt tremendously heavier than before. Being rejected twice in a row by my dream college left me in an awful long-term depression. I kept seeing so many others being accepted and happy on social media and KZread; it made me hate the very thing I loved and I started to draw less and then stopped. In 2019, I was an emotional wreck and was desperate to get accepted into any college, so I applied to one that had a high acceptance rate. All that time up until January of 2020, I had been trying to take classes for this college that had a high acceptance rate, but I couldn't even step foot on campus due to financial problems ( I don't understand why FAFSA couldn't cover my expenses). I had to leave with a heavy heart now burdened with this tuition. So, here I am now just working a 10-hour day job. It hurts so much to think about what it even was that I did wrong. I just wanted to go to college and be surrounded by people who were into the same things that I am, and who were like me. Envy is such a horrible feeling to have towards people who didn't even do anything to me. They all got in through hard work and strong talent, and I should be happy for them. It just hurts a lot, you know? Sorry for the long rant, it's just that I thought that I was the only one who felt this way until I read your comment. I'm trying again to get back into college with help from my neighbor, but my heart is fragile from everything that's happened, I don't want to be as hopeful anymore.

I was rejected from all the schools I applied to. Did full IB diploma and felt worthless and depressed after that final rejection. Went to church and asked God “why me?” But everything happens for a reason and everyone has a different path to follow and it’s all gonna work out in the end. Off to community college, thank you.

I know it must feel terrible and hopeless at times, but like you did, it is the most powerful thing you can do to trust God and the process. I just got rejected from Johns Hopkins. It was my ed school and I feel like my application was a joke in their eyes. I tried really hard. My best friend got deferred and she was soooo disappointed about it- i had to console her but to me they at least considered her... I'm afraid to apply to other top colleges now. I do like my instate school, but I want to challenge myself. I want to give so much to the world and it just hurts that the world doesn't want me.

Real rejection comes after college when you apply to jobs and the competition gets worse. That's the good part about college rejection it prepares you for what's to come.

I got rejected to my dream, Upenn (Wharton), the first time as a high school graduate, and then a second time just 30 minutes ago when I checked my transfer admission decision. I'm devastated, but I know I will still have my chance of applying as an MBA student, hopefully, next time the letter I receive isn't a rejection letter. When I was deferred, I was absolutely crushed but when the rejection finally came through i just didnt care at that point because I had other options that were great so I think what you said about God really applied to my situation because He DID have a plan, and I know it’s going to work out so much better in the end

Ahhhhh katie!! You’re giving the right words I’ve been wanting to hear. I’m an 11th grader. I didn’t take any CETs yet. But the pressure and the great possibility of being rejected are torturing me. I don’t think I’ll pull through. I have so muchhhhh to learn and I don’t know how to motivate myself. I just can’t stand disappointing myself again. I’ve been dragging my dreams down and I feel drowning and hopeless and naive and off to nowhere. Aww hi! Thank you so much for sharing. I'm so glad you commented and that this video helped you! I definitely want to tell you about my experience in this. I too used to be terrified of failure. I didn't want to disappoint people because I worried I'd feel worse about myself and so I never tried. But trust me, find something you're passionate about. You'll gain so much confidence from it that rejections aren't enough to bring you down because you're truly happy with yourself. Not the external factors like rejections or grades that try to tell you otherwise. When you step out of your comfort zone, you certainly take risks. Sometimes, it may not work out, but let me tell you than when it does, it is so magical and incredible - something better than you imagined. The best things in life come out of your comfort zone because they challenge you and help you grow. My favorite example? Starting this KZread channel. I'm 100% here to support you and am so thankful you commented. God bless and best of luck with your CETs! Do your best, be proud regardless, and I know you'll find wonderful things!

I think we've been here! I just shared a video of my own about why I was rejected from so many schools now that it's been almost a year. It is such a painful experience to wonder why you worked so hard for what feels like nothing. However, I think the process of rejection creates an atmosphere of real reflection and makes you more capable to help others around you succeed.

I’m very sorry to hear about your rejection. Life never goes like we plan but good things can come from challenges. I never thought I would be able to go to college but I was blessed to graduate from 2🙂. As far as life goes I always had to face challenges. I’m the only person that makes videos and livestreams and I feel like no one else cares. I had to overcome the challenge of starting KZread and twitch while graduating college. Last year My heart was hurting because I had friends I cared about go through depression 😢. Things are getting better this year because I’m gonna keep trying and not beat myself up anymore 🙂I don’t like talking about stuff like this but I hope this encourages you.
