Good afternoon, Jazzy. 😀 I heard about the cold weather and the storm to which the U of T and Huston areas are now being subjected! 😱 I bet many local people down there think the world is coming to an end! 😄 Could you do a video about the cold weather down there and its effects and how people are dealing with it? It would be entertaining for a weekly video, _and_ it would have some value as a local history documentary. 😉 Oh, yes. Also, making it now may save you the time and trouble of doing a similar assigned project, in future semesters. 😏 BTW, someone asked me why I don't like Valentine's day. *THIS is why!!* 😡 (yesterday was Valentine's day 2021)

*psa:* college isn't everything! don't feel pressured to pick a certain path, take the time out to work what is gonna be best for you. it's also worth mentioning that you don't have to go to college straight after high school! :)

Just got rejected from UC Berkeley and Stanford. This is like a comfort video for me. It took me a long time to realize that how competitive the schools I got into isn’t what defines my intelligence or worth, and this video was a really great reminder. It will be okay, and I can’t wait to go to the University of Washington. Go dawgs! 💜💛

Imagine being able to even take the SAT. I’m a senior this year and I signed up for the SAT *9* times! And every single time has been cancelled bc of corona 😒

The American collage system is so strange to me as someone from Ireland, here we do exams at the end of our last year of school and we fill in a form to say which collages/unis and corse we want to do and depending on what grades you get you’ll other be accepted or not. That’s literally it lmao, no essays no fuss. It’s also super common to repeat your last year of school if your not happy with your grades

Oh wow, yeah that seems less stressful in comparison to America’s system lol. They make us do essays because there are so many excellent students with practically perfect grades that they have to also look at how we present our personality and what we, as a person, can contribute to their school. It’s so much work hahaha

I bet you would be considered an amateur, around here! Many of Jazzy's followers were her fans since _before_ she was promoted to SSG, or even joined the SAKs Channels! 😄

i just watched To All the Boys I Loved 3 and this totally reminded me of that. Lara Jean is so fixated on Stanford or UCB that she totally neglects the idea of going to NYU but when she goes there she finds that she actually loves it!

I really needed to hear this. UT Austin was my dream school that denied me and I was crushed. It really messed with my self-esteem since I have family who has gone there and of course you Jazzy. But this video makes me feel a lot better about my self-worth. Hopefully, I also fall in love with the colleges that did accept me once I'm able to visit them :)

It’s okay! I’m also a freshman and I have some ideas but I’m not 100% sure either. But don’t stress because still have lots of time to think about it! Plus if it helps, I’m pretty sure you can enter as an undeclared major in college, so you can sign up for classes that interest you and take the time to explore different subjects :)

i’ve been crying basically everyday ever since i was in a situation and couldn’t go to the college i wanted and all my motivation is gone i feel horrible im going to a college i didn’t want and idk still convincing myself its a good college

Soo umm Jazzy is part Filipino and I'm pure Filipino and in my country, the curriculum is basically like junior to senior year is merged and called as senior high school here which are 2 years before college with following strands or a course we have to pick relating to our major in college. Half of middle school years in America is already high school here so I am currently in 9th grade and this is the year where our grades determine our senior high school application. We submit our grades to prestigious universities once our sophomore year ends and I had a C on one subject but here a C is failing grade C doesn't make degrees in here and I am probably going to get denied by the university of my dreams that ranks higher than Harvard. So yes here I am now once a straight A's type of student about to be devastated once I apply for my senior high and Jazzy thank you so so much this is exactly the comfort I needed.

So I’m an 8th grader currently, and I’m honestly stressed for the next four years. The past week my parents and I have been looking at classes I can take next year and we’ve had to plan a lot farther ahead than I wanted to. I don’t understand how people put so much pressure in kids to figure out what they want to do immediately going into high school. And this is personal, because we literally have to pick out a path to go by in high school along with meeting the specific list of 23 1/2 requirements. I am a hard worker, but I also stress a lot and I’m concerned about what’s gonna happen the next four years, and that’s just high school. Anyways, I know this is a weird comment that doesn’t make any sense, but loved the video!

Girl don’t stress about it. You have time to figure out what you want to do. I wouldn’t stress to much about APs either ... maybe take the basic/easy ones, like history.

@@harpervaladie6506 Good! If you start with AP Human Geo, I recommend the “5 Steps to a 5” study book. I crammed that entire book in the last two weeks before the AP test and got a 4, haha.

@@harpervaladie6506 I didn’t do that either. Honestly, I had planned on studying the book earlier but procrastinated unfortunately. Focus on getting a good GPA your freshman and sophomore years and then you won’t feel the need to cram six AP courses junior year, like how so many other people do. Also, if your school has a dual-credit community college option, take that instead of AP. They’re so much easier and you don’t have to take an AP test to get the college credit, just pass the class. However, the college credit will only apply to colleges in your state, so that’s a bummer if you plan on going out-of-state.

She got me to apply to UT, I’d never heard of it before but I did my research after she got accepted and it’s my dream school 🙂🧡

As a freshman, it’s okay to be nervous (I was too) but don’t stress! Just make sure you get started on assignments as soon as possible, don’t procrastinate, and try your best. Email your teachers with questions and take advantage of office hours if you need extra help. Just take things one step at a time and I promise you everything will work out in the end.
