Managed to survive 68 moves playing the Ruy, I made 0 blunders, 1 mistake and 3 inaccuracies, Mittens made 47 best moves, I made 23 lol, it was absolutely brutal, the cat forced me to trade off and sac absolutely everything just to hold on for dear life, It was one of the most humbling experiences of my chess career.

You can estimate how strong a bot is by the time it takes to make a move. Kitten takes long. (It's around the max-bot strength)

I dared challenge mittens after starting to learn chess about 3 months ago. Mittens is now holding my family hostage.

For all we know, Mittens IS Stockfish. Fish to cat. Evolution is weird.

I played a quiet london game with no mistakes, and still only lasted 57 moves.

after 5 or 6 defeats in a row, I unleashed the fish against him... and he caught me! when I checkmated him he told me I was a cheater! :-O

@@floridaman6982 it seems everyone who beats it gets the same "cheat...meow" message. Even Ben Finegold got accused of cheat...meowing by "the cat", and he played the whole game while streaming (so without cheating)

Holy crap it was a quick and violent ending for me. Twice, because I thought I just played bad the first time.

Damn i remember i saw 1 as its elo and thought 'weird' i was confident i could win, but the damn kitten outclassed me in the theory and i realized shit its a high level bot

Thinking Mittens was 1 elo I sac’ed my queen thinking it wouldn’t take it. When it took and then followed up by forking me I realized I had been bamboozled

I actually defeated mittens.........using stockfish But seriously mittens played stockfish moves most of the time, minimum 3000 rated I'm guessing, could be higher too.

i defeated mittens using fritz 17 program on AI level "grandmaster" and it says that mittens is 2040 elo (i was doing mitten's moves against fritz, the program evaluates your approximate elo in the real match based on the current game by the precision of your moves) ofc its not taking in a count that it is a 10min blitz, but in the game without time control it says that mittens moves are 2000 elo P.S. Fritz was playing black, easily mated with advantege of light piece in the edngame, so i gues mittens ello realy is not so high because fritz takes like 10 minutes to win with black

I'm 660 rated and I lasted 53 moves against this absolute terrorising beast. It has truly given me PTSD for sure.

I won mittens with my computer local stockfish instance. It took 76 moves to checkmate!! Mittens is just stockfish with depth 18-26 (fast moves its 18, when it thinks it can go up to 26)

That must have been a painful experience, but it was so funny and Eric's despair was so relatable. 🤣

After I played this once I had a bet with a friend about drawing it, I ended up playing her for 2:30 hrs and did not draw her once. Learned a lot though, genuinely insane what ideas it came up with, especially regarding same side attacks

It doesn't seem like it. From the videos I have seen, Stockfish 15 defeats Mittens everytime. However, Mittens is probably stronger than many other chess engines.
