I split my hot chocolate after my wife put in on my arm rest, and I got in the car and leaned on the armrest, as I always do, straight away… Was not fun!

As a car dealer myself I never discuss what I paid for a car or made in profit as people get the hump. What they don't see is the hundreds of hours searching, travelling, prepping and selling the cars. This is also the same Alex that gave cars back to people who have lost loved ones and gave homeless man a van and a young man with terminal cancers his own car show!!! So come on guys taken way out of proportion. Love the content as always keep up good the work lads :)

Fully justified why that money was paid- you're buying a car out of a bush for heavens sake. It was a big risk that paid off. And the video obviously condensed that into what people saw as not being open and fair. Credit to you guys for addressing it and also putting it fully right. Keep up the good work!

Everyone needs to understand that no one is ever forcing someone to sell their car, Taylor went looked at the car and made the chap an offer he accepted it, end of the story. If he wanted more money he could have said get the car up a lift look at it and if everything checks out you give me 1500 if it is rusty you give me 1100 or simply said no I do not want to sell it for that much and put it up on facebook, ebay, autotrader anywhere realy and sold it that way. Fair play on your part you accepted that the viewers felt differently about it and you rectified your "mistake" and everyone is happy now. I bought a car recently for a steal, car was already 2000 cheaper than any other comparable one and I knocked another 1000 off for paint chips, scrapes and other little stuff he could have sold it for more but at the end he was happy and I was happy and same story goes for you guys. You never put a camera in the sellers face and make him uncomfortable you negotiate like anyone else would do so I think you guys are doing enough already to be as fair as possible to both parties.

During Covid I bought a Toyota FJ80 that had been off the road for 3 years. It was advertised for 1.8k, I contacted the seller and arranged to view the following day as very local. The advert had only been live for a few hours and I had a call back shortly after saying he had had loads of interest and has been told it was well underpriced which it was! I had a discussion with the seller and I still wanted to view even if he wanted a bit more for it. When viewing the car it had clearly not been cleaned inside or out for many many years so difficult to see condition of paintwork but it ran, drove, stopped and all diffs engaged and there were no leaks and no milkshake. So certainly worth a punt. He said he was looking for closer to 2.8k so I just said meet in the middle and we shook on 2.3k. He got a bit more than he originally expected and I knew with an MOT it was worth 3x that but we were both happy. After 4 x new tyres & fluid changes I was into it for 3k. Passed it's MOT and drove irregularly for a year, went greenlaning in it 3 times and created some memories with my son, which is priceless. Sold it after a year for 7k to a lovely Scottish chap who drove it all the way back home with his son. Everyone was a winner. If you are selling something it is worth whatever someone is willing pay. That chap may have tried selling the car multiple times before and had no luck so something is better than nothing.... If you put loads of research into a certain vehicle you'll know what it's worth. If you just want it gone without the hassle of hours of research then you'll be happier with less... Keep doing what you are doing guys - let's see some work done on all these cars you keep buying 😅 and looking forward to some challenges with TDC & ATG 👍🏼

Hate the fact you guys feel the need to have to apologise; you did nothing wrong, you made an offer, someone accepted it, they didn’t have to. Some people need to get over themselves. Just hopefully finished a scrap with the grim reaper and after a week in iccu I've gone to a ward. Loving the video podcasts and just fortunate that tucked away somewhere in your empire are my two dream cars, Alfred and the long lost Coupe Turbo .. I think there's a bit of a communication issue there because of vagueness of "Change of circumstances" (Could mean anything, a lot of people assumed the worst , that he'd fallen on hard times so didn't have much choice to not sell), and also a bit of a power dynamic thing there to keep in mind as he was a fan. Just something to be aware of, though I didn't feel like you did anything wrong there really.

Loads of my mates dont watch anymore because its nearly all BMWs and Land Rovers. They just cannot take this lot seriously when they repeatedly buy the junk nobody with a brain goes near. They would do a lot better sub wise and view wise if they stopped with the old junk BMWs.

It’s ridiculous anyone would have done exactly the same thing when negotiating. Everyone does it, in my opinion the comments should have said well done Taylor, you did a good job!

no we dont, i dont take the piss i pay what was agreed and still make money. Ive made more money in a week buying & selling cars than Taylor has in his lifetime so there is no excuse for going back on agreed prices thats as bad as bumping the price up just as you've paid what they originally asked. You will get nowhere in life i can already tell.

You did not let us down at all. I hate that others gave the team crap about the price. They were genuine and remember they were buying a car with a tiny market. These guys loose so much on cars, but no one comes and says the seller should come back and give them a refund. Thats cars, and the unknown. Disappointed to see the fans thought they knew better. but stellar on the team who still came thru and made it "right" when it was not needed.

I had no issue with previous video , both were happy at the time , turns out the car was better underneath than everyone thought but that’s the way the cookie crumbles car still needs a good bit spent on it, keep up the vids they are quality.

Honestly, don't worry about it. I bought a non, runner of a bike for 1500 and spent 500 and it's worth 3500 all fay long. Bought a vw crafter 6k cheaper than anywhere else in the country for spec and mileage. Just bough an evoque for 6.5k and it's worth 11k. I have had to buy some bits, get a door repaired and getting wheels, service, haldex service, cam belt and water pump etc. Car will ow 8.5 to 9k. So saved 2k but putting labour and work in to it.

Don’t act hard. Obviously a dealer to avoid. You wouldnt extract the skin off a rice pudding mush. I’m in the uk, I’ve lowballed for cars, including ones owned by travellers never had a problem, pleasant people to deal with.

I think your discussion about the mira is totally fair. You can’t please everyone. It is true that you guys always seem to get amazing deals on cars, however you also deserve it and put the hard work in. One thing I would say is that you guys are making money on the content for these cars so maybe factor that into your negotiations in the future to make sure the seller gets a fair price they are happy with (I know the seller was happy with £1100 in the video and props to giving him the extra £400 💪🏻). I love the content and haven’t once thought you’ve taken advantage of anyone when buying cars so keep up the good work and I will keep watching everything 💪🏻👏🏻

Re the F Type V6S - yep! I bought one a couple of years back and it is fantastic. It was £80k+ new in 2015 and I got it for mid-£20k’s. It had 70k on the clock but the engine had been replaced under warranty at 58k!!! I’m loving doing little bits on it myself and am looking at some 200 cell cats and a Paramount exhaust with associated tune to take it to 420bhp.

learn how the car trade works you said? 😂 Ive been dealing in cars ans motorbikes and boats for 4 decade now and if you agree a price with the guys i knon then decide to go back on it they swnd a team round to kick your teeth in and take the profit they should have made. I suggest its you who needs to learn the rules of the trade before you upset the wrong bloke. I know guys whove made people sign their houses over to them because they messed with them this type way only to find out they messed with the wrong person/family. You try Taylors stunts with a travler family and it will be the last thing you do. Again, you Learn the trade you melt!

I personally never understood the hate with getting the kei car at that price. Its only happened as its on youtube, under normal circumstances when going to buy a car ofcourse you will negotiate to a level you feel is appropriate for the condition of the car. It's not doing the right things. It's being bullied, pressured and guilt tripped into paying a seller more money for a car than they agreed on.

I did mention on that Kei car video that at least you gave him the cash. I didn't complain about the price. If you look at it this way, what you lose on the swings, you gain on the roundabouts. In another video sometime you'll do down the track, you'll get a fantastic price on a car you'll show it off. Since all you guys now have Kei cars, I reckon you should all do a video trip to either the Nurburgring & race with Mischa or go to Northern Italy & drive the Kei cars in the narrow streets where normal cars can't go. Otherwise, do a huge trip with them. Ask Jack if he got his teeth whitened by the dentist? Cheers for the laughs!

I feel it wasn't the deal people were upset about. It was the fact that it came from a fan, not a random guy of auto trader. If it was from a random guy in bristol, no one would have cared. But for me, i enjoy the content, so i dont care, and if i was to sell a car to a content creator, i feel its some what expected to have to make it a good deal otherwise they likely just wont find it elsewhere cheaper.

On the topic of car prices - I think it's important to remember there are a load of reasons why someone might sell something undervalue and be happy to do so. Obviously there's a fine line between that and taking advantage of someone But I've sold everything from cars to my house under value. Sometimes making money isn't the main priority. A quick sale, a sale to someone you know will make the most of it, already selling for more than paid. Plenty of reasons for it, not all of them mean someone is doing something scummy 🤷

I'm not speaking about being in dire need or whatever, since i've never been there. However I once sold a couple of good cars for VERY cheap. I was pained to let them go for cheap, but i had to move out of the country within a matter of weeks, they were at a friend's place, they were not insured or taxed and hadn't been for a few years, and i didn't have time to wrench on them so i could sell them at a much better price. I feel it was exactly the same kind of deal Taylor strucked. It is cheap, and there is a good car underneath with decent potential, but nobody is ever gonna buy it for much more because of the circumstances of the deal. At the end of the day, if the seller accepts, it's because he finds his own satisfaction in the deal. I could have said no when i sold my cars, and with a little bit of effort, i would have gotten 2 to 4 times more money, but i didn't. I'm not blaming the buyer for that.

I am sorry you guys feel like you had to justify yourselves. I have met and sold a car to Taylor personally a few months back. At no point did he pressure me in to the sale. People forget that how much it costs to recommission these old cars and the reality is once you are done you will be lucky to make any money out of it.

The people in the comments dogging you down are dicks… A seller never has to accept your offer they are in control of the sale and if it’s going to happen, as a buyer you’re always going to haggle the lowest price.. You don’t owe anyone an apology so keep doing you
