It went exactly how expected. Both on dirt, neither go anywhere, just dig holes. Even on pavement it comes down to traction, wich truck has the stickier tires or most weight. Doesn't matter if one has 300hp and the other vehicle has a 1,000hp. As long as both vehicles have enough power to spin the wheels it will always come down to traction/weight.

I really like the Cybertruck. But I agree. The old trucks are great. They look much better than the new legacy trucks and they are really practical. But times change. New trucks are much safer, pollute a lot less (noise and exhaust), much more comfortable and have more functionality. Fossil fuels are on their way out and software is becoming all important. 10 Months ago I bought a 2000 GenII Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins. It needs a lot of work. It's not possible to walk to a filling station and get enough electricity to get you there so you can fill up. It costs about $1,000 to have a charging station wired to the breaker panel in your house, but if you can spend $100,000 on the vehicle, I guess it doesn't matter, but the battery will need to be replaced in 10 years for the price of a very nice used gas powered vehicle.

Cummins FTW. Love my first gen '93. The truck that started the whole diesel craze of today.
I kinda like the cyber truck but I agree, for the $ it’s a no-go for me. I drive a PowerStroke (Ford diesel) 4x4, crew cab, sometimes tow heavy and haul often. The cyber truck would just be an expensive toy in my driveway. Fun video guys 👍
Full to 5% when towing: 86mi. I'll take the Cummins anytime, anyday.
Man that Cummins is nice.
Those old Dodge Ram diesels were pretty solid when it came to hauling cargo and trailers. Best in their class.

Damn 100k for a pick up truck that can’t do anything a truck should be is quite a drawback.

Well before tesla electric cars were slow. It wasn't even a musk thing, it was a thing with the two original founders.
I still remember cross country trips with my dad in my teens in a 98 12v. Stopping at the hotel at night my ears didn't stop ringing for several hours! I've now had Ford 7.3, 6.0, 6.7, Chevy LBZ, and LMM. Even in a brand new F-450 Platinum I'm still in the habit of turning it off in a drive thru. Although it is crazy how much the noise level dropped between the diesels up to the 2002-2005 time frame and the newer trucks! I'm a hard core diesel guy, rn I have a Silverado 3500, Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel, and a VW Sportwagen TDI manual, but I have to admit some of the tech in the Cybertruck is going to be a game changer. In particular the 48 volt system. It's amazing that with everything stuffed into modern cars that everyone else is still using 12 volts.

Watching the Cybertruck steering teardown video reminded me I needed to spray some peppermint spray under my hood to keep critters out. 48 volts means smaller wires that would arc easier wouldn't it?
@HA05GER

12v is inherently safer. Yes you gain some efficiency and can have thinner wires but it's marginal and might gain you a mile of range at best.

Man truck vs yuppie kid's toy, got it!
....and this is why I will never ever get rid of my 1995 Dodge Ram 2500 CTD. I can work on anything in that truck and not be tethered to a Stealership, ever. Mine has a mild "tune" 350 HP and 700+ FT LBS of torque. Parts are dirt cheap. I bought it used 7 years ago for $3500.00
how much energy/charge left after trying to do truck things?
For about the same price you can get a nicely equipped Ram 3500 Dually that will drag along about three times as much weight, and get more range doing it (the full towing weight of ~37,000lbs. as I think TFL did a fully load fuel mileage to the tune of 8ish MPG), refuels in minutes has the same creature comforts ...the new 6.7L is fairly quiet ...and looks far and away better inside and out than the Cybertruck. I'd buy the Ram 2500/3500 Dually all day every day over the Tesla.
Love that Cummins!!!

@martinbowyer7906

I'll give that the CT is not great for towing or for offroadiing. But the 400 miles in 8hrs is easily done. Let's say real world it gets 260 miles @75mph, instead of the 320 claimed. That's still most of the trip in one go. then stop for 30 mins to charge to 80% and finish the trip in under 6 hours.

@Konski82 You both would still lose with your cyber truck. I have a 9612 valve. I get 21 mph mixed driving. 24-25 long trips on a 35 gallon tank, I can make the trip in one shot. While you stop for a recharge, i'm sitting back blasting the radio on cruise to the finish. Bring some snacks i'm hungry

@bldontmatter5319 Yeah, 30 minutes, after 3 and a half hours of driving. Even without kids, most people are probably stopping almost that long anyway, and if they're getting food definitely that long. Yes im a tesla/EV fan, but i try to stay realistic. If you tend to do long road trips and only stop as minimum as possible (cannon ball run style) then EVs are not for you. My response was as to weather or not the Cybertruck could travel that far in 8 hrs, which it can.
@bruhmomento7563

@@martinbowyer7906probably won’t be a 30 minute charge because of just some superchargers not putting up to their maximum output + the battery of the cybertruck is much larger than the other models. But regardless even if it takes like 80 minutes you’ll make the aforementioned trip in under 8 hours

@lucadellasciucca967 bro stop going through the comments and trying to defend something that's obviously more then lost, and just except that EV isn't the way at all. Really we should all be allowed to drive what ever the hell we want to and we shouldn't change that through shutting down pipe lines.
I used to have a 99 Dakota Sport 4x4 automatic with the 5.2L V-8. Not as capable as that Ram, but still it wasn't a pushover and it was a real fun pickup. And it was pretty great as a daily driver (aside from gas). I'm up in New England and the rot ended up killing its frame. Got it in 04 or so and got rid of it in 19. I miss that truck.
I felt the comment about the Dodge "loves being hitched to a trailer." I have a 2017 3500 manual that absolutely fun to tow with. It's fine as a daily driver, but with a load It's almost magical.
I'll stick with my one ton ram Cummins diesel
Now do a tuned Cummins making 700 hp and 1300 torque
