I got a mixer board Behringer XENYX X1222USB Part 1

I got a new mixer for my birthday.
I unpack it and talk some but I'll make a new video testing it soon. Got carried away messing with last night.
As read on the box:
Premium 16-input 2/2 - Bus Mixer with XENYX Mic Preamps & Compressors, British EQs, 24 BIT Multi-FX Processor and USB/Audio Interface.
The XENYX X1222USB is by Behringer
Ps. I've never used a mixer before, never even owned one so this is all new to me.
I have a lot to learn now! :)
Second part is now out!
Check it out :D • Behringer XENYX X1222U...

and phantom power just means it gives the cables energy it needs to make the microphones work😊

Neat, so is that mostly for XLR connections?

Yeah it’s genuinely just XLR what needs the phantom power

@@mikeywoods6278 interesting. I don't have any microphones with that connection yet but I have been looking around. The SM57 And SM7B both look nice.

projectnoel the SM57 is a perfect microphone especially for recording guitar!! Don’t think it requires phantom power either! How are you getting on with the mixing board? and do you know how many tracks you can record using it

@@mikeywoods6278 you should be able to record as many tracks as you'd like provide your DAW allows it. With Mixcraft it only lets me do 16 per file which isnt the greatest but I don't usually get the high with recordings usually anyway. The mixer can run 16 channels at the same time if you wanted. So logically you could fit 8 to 12 mics on an acoustic drum set and still be able to have some mics for guitar, bass, vocals and a keyboard or something at the same time. Just remember being USB it will import into the computer on a single channel in the DAW. Thought I suppose you could get around this by recording each part separately. It works nicely when doing live shows though.

@@projectnoel Ah I see, I ordered the same mixer yesterday. I've been recording with an interface all the time, but I wanted to try something more analog. Musical greetings from Karel (the Netherlands, Europe)

Actually that's how I did the second video. I used a microphone plugged right into the mixer and even played bass guitar a bit through it. Though I can always make more videos if you have and suggestions. But here's the second video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fqKKspqcY7GadtY.html

Absolutely. There are actually a few different options for output connections. Including but not limited to, direct out to large speakers like studio monitors or even larger as well as basic AUX-out and 2track outputs.

I made this video, like ten minutes after pulling it out of the box. It was a gift for my birthday, I never said I was going to teach anything in this video.
