It appears that they did fixed it for the robot. Back then, freeze and blind doesn't really affect the robot that much, since you know what you rolled.

The strat with counterspell is freezing their dice into a 1 then locking all 1s. Which. Uh. Isnt exactly going to work here.

One thing that occurred to me is that you could NOT take the spare four if there's nothing you need the four for, so there's one more target for error.

The four is guaranteed, and any plan you roll another for is not a guarantee since whatever you plan to put the die in can still immediately error. Not taking the four is technically the greedy play. Unless you have literally no use for a four or multiple equipments that benefit from what you're going to roll for much more value than the four, in which case you don't take the four because even if one errors you still have the other one.

@@yearniethefox9506 yeah, since the spare 4 isn’t technically a roll, it doesn’t error. You can see on the error counter in the side that it never errors.

I wouldn't say the roll is rigged, really. It does say that 50% of the rolls will result in error, not that there's a 50% chance with every roll.

If you just hit all the dice every turn you will see 3 hearts (no error) and 3 skulls (error) every time. I am pretty sure where those hearts and skulls are located is pre generated

he realized it by the end but "50% of rolls cause errors" means that half of the rolls are bad and half are normal rather than a chance.

If it was instead worded like “Rolls have a 50% chance to error” (like how the Curse debuff is worded), then I would expect instances where I get 4 errors.

It's funny how I'm equaly excited to see Tyler do a sick ass game-breaking build and to see him finally lose a game

Honestly, I love the small details in this game. Like for example, how throwing burning dice as the witch deals more damage, or how burning dice can never be frozen.

Sticky hands is actually, no joke, the most dangerous enemy in the game due to being able to lock you out of the final level up Edit: *"has the potential to be the most dangerous"*

@@catbot6037 So it's fine for speedrunners to completely brick a game to save 5 minutes, as well as using 1001 bugs and glitches for challenge runs/videos, but using an exploit to prevent bad RNG is too far.

"50% of rolls cause errors" "it might always do 3 - 3" it dose not say chance, it is straight up half.

"This boss is immune to lock and freeze... Oh! I forgot to take [equipment that locks enemy dice and would be useless against the boss]!" lol

@@ComedicalBystander i mean, it’s technically a bug but also not really. if you exit the game during a battle and then load it you load outside of battle. i think they just didn’t wanna save battle info. i think he’d be fine since it just makes video-creation easier.

@@goatsfluffy8254 it's literally an exploit in the programming. Just because it's easy to do doesn't mean it's some kinda intended mechanic. Especially in a game all about luck and rolling dice, being able to simply restart the battle anytime you want until you get better rolls definitely isn't a non-bug

funny story, as soon as you put the first die on plasma blaster I got a blue screen, so I thought "Oh, funny joke, jaja" imagine my horror when I press escape and nothing happens

Percentage usually implies probability. It's phrased somewhat ambiguously.

I honestly don't think I've ever seen a roguelike game that changes so much from run to run. It's been really interesting to watch!

Doppeldice over the spatula? Doppeldice gives much less expected value with this. Spatula would have effectively given you an extra 6 or a 5 (which is not even possible with doppeldice).

The amount of mental gymnastics needed for this game is crazy

3:16 Actually (assuming you roll until busting, then stop), the odds of getting an error on the first one is 50%, second one is 25%, third one is 12.5%, fourth is 6.25%, fifth is 3.125%, sixth is 1.5525%, and getting none is 1.5525%. Assuming you roll all die no matter what, then the odds of getting an error on any of them is 50%, but the odds of getting none is still 1.5525%. P.S. Ruby weapon is kinda decent? It DOUBLES your chances of getting it!

This would be true if there was a 50% chance for each roll to error. However, each roll is predetermined, and exactly 3 of 6 will error. So we get 50% of erroring on the first die, a 20% chance of getting two dice error-free, and a 5% chance of finding all three good dice from the start.

Hey Tyler! If you like Dice games, there's one called "Slice & Dice", pretty cheap, quick to understand, challenging, and puzzling! Especially in using what you've got to get optimal turns, just like this game! I'm not sure if there's much crazy stuff in the game, I've only seen one video and played a few unsuccessful runs, might be good for a handful of 20-30 minute episodes I'd say, if that's something you're looking for

Dexterity charm with spare 4 sounds like a decent otk if you got have the setup for the large countdown

I wonder what Tyler means when he says "le go." He could be speaking French, speaking in reference to the titular block toys, or telling the foe to release him. I can't think of another answer that makes sense

On the plus side, if you had taken counterspell, it wouldn't have worked, as the boss was immune to lock.

21:40 doesnt dexterity charm garunteed win with any dice manipulation equipment, for example with counterfit you get infinite dice which you can put into and attack as they are all reusable

It's a mix of them having lots of equipment, and dice rolls being random, that mea that they just don't work well with the game's AI. They tend to not think ahead greater than one item, which leads to them making some weird plays.

Tyler not realizing he can cheese his dice being frozen by just taking a 1 is pretty funny to me

I think always 3 of your dice are cursed, this means after rolling it's not a 50/50 anymore :0

Did you know that sticky hands he throws a hand back and forth and if you look closely you can see the animation is screwed up lol

@@iankelley9302 Buster Sword, Ultima Weapon, Missing Score and Premium Heart are all weapons from Final Fantasy 7. Ruby Weapon is an optional boss from the same game.

I was curious so I checked your math. Only problem was my brain wasn’t working so I simulated it. After over two million simulations it was always around 60% so I’m gonna say you’re right (final number was 59.9919%) There is one problem with this though. it assumes that no equipment was removed by being used up in between rolls (thus not being able to be effected by errors), which is not a very accurate assumption.

@@maker0824 Yeah I guess it assumes that you are always using Ruby weapon second (after taking the free 4 die). Obviously though, if you use other equipment first, you're only hurting your chances to play ruby weapon. If you have other higher priority equipment, you may want to use it while you still can for fear of losing it. Ruby weapon becomes worse in this case.

I’m pretty sure dice didn’t use to be locked when you choose them and errors don’t happen, but instead, on errors, they would be locked, I guess they just made the level more difficult

They made it SO much easier Used to be the limit break just let you fully reset your own turn, which was sometimes even worse. It was brutal and annoying. The dies locking is harsh but it's easier overall. (Lol I did misremember at first, but seriously, worst limit break.)

@@peterpeladon no but that is in the 1st level for robot, I even looked at some videos with this level, and on errors the die you would choose just got locked and wasn’t given to you, however if you were lucky enough, you could get several of the same dice in 1 turn

@@K13_VS You're right. Trust me that episode 3 used to be worse than this though. (Not getting the die was so frustrating, you had a 1/32 chance of just having a null turn, 1/8 if you only had 3 equipment.)

@@peterpeladon idk but you had more chance to get any die, because you used to have 12 rolls, whereas after the update, you only get 6 (that means you used to get 6 good dice without locking, and now you get 3 dice with 3 equipment being errored)

@@K13_VS Pretty sure it wasn't 6/6 back then, and if it was you still got screwed so much more often by the 50% chance that more than half of the first half were skulls.

buster sword eats up the errors. If the errors hit buster sword it doesn't do anything

The game rigs it in your favor because random chance is frustrating, sure, rolling 2 6's twice in a row might feel great in monopoly, but rolling 3 sets of snake eyes can be frustrating. it removes this frustration by making everything average to both the benefit and detriment of the player to keep the game tough, but not upsetting

but it also doesn’t have a true randomness system, and it’s actually works in a different way. i think they didn’t intend it to be balanced that way, rather the randomization system is flawed in a way that makes it see that way.

i resently discoverd a hiden caracter i think it called bear and i got it when i was playing as the thief and i used one of the alcamist potions i think and i became a bear. funy tho the shop keeper mistakes you for the alcemist. and i think its permenet this game. but when i finished the game as a bear it counted as a victory for the thief. you also get new atacks and special. special does 10 hp. and you get 2 of an large atack wich does ether X x2 +2 or X +2. the upgraded version just makes it be X+4 insted of X+2. i also got somthing similar to cookie that whan you insert 10 it doubles you next move. and also i got honey but i dont temember wich of the last 2 i menchoned i started with as i got one from a chest. edit: some caracters and enemies have special dialog but i dont know if thats ecslusive to the bear. edit2: the potion is ovius its called bear potion and you get 2 bear mouls wich does X +2 and bear charge which is repet next move. with a special caled bear smash
