Actually the girl that went before me talked about her experience with being a lesbian in our still very conservative country! It was really well put together and we were all cheering her on djjsj Also I'm fairly certain like 80% of the kids in my generation are some kind of lgbt so I guess that may have to do with it

@@shibumi-tanuki I live in Utah… A state which is most known for, you guessed it, religion and Mormons. My school does make an effort to be diverse, but it’s still such an awkward topic. And yeah, there’s plenty of openly lgbt ppl in my school but still. It’s just never talked about

Lovely analysis, but imo Moomintroll is more understanding of Snuf's need to travel than people might think. Yeah, he's sad about it but that's not something that can be easily controlled. He is trying his best and he never tries to restrain him. They both clearly put effort into their relationship and I don't think a slight instance of being too clingy or too cold would be enough to damage it. That's how close they are. Also, anyone who says Snufkin is Moomin's "adult friend" can shut up please because Tove literally wrote them to be around the same age and they're *clearly* all kids in the first few books and I will die on this hill-

Ooooohhh gosh so sorry it took me this long to see this TwT But yes I totally understand what you mean. I think I did forget to take that into consideration when writing the script jsjsjs it's interesting though that people do forget Moomin can both be clingy and understanding/open to Snufkin's needs. I sometimes even make that mistake myself (As you can see ;w;) and it's lovely to think/know both parties are willing to adapt and change to their needs in a relationship so as to not lose each other... Or at least that's how I understood it ^^

@@shibumi-tanuki It's totally fine, :) and you're right, that middle ground does exist. The clinginess in this case can just be wasting one's life away waiting for someone (sitting on a log all day ain't fun). But honestly, this presentation is amazing and I'd die if someone did this at my school.

Djsjd well that is just a headcanon after all, but the series has given lots of evidence that would lead people (oncluding me and your parents) to come to that conclusion. I think it's espcially how Tove based Moomintroll after herself and Snufkin after her at one point fiancé Atos Wirtanen. However, it only grows tragic from there since the relstionship could not be as Atos didn't give as much love as Tove needed and the two colled off the marriage and went their separate ways... I think a lot of that is reflected in Snufmin and I would've liked to include this point in the presentation yet I couldn't due to time constraints. Is Snufmin a doomed relationship as Tove and Atos' was? I like the think about that at times

Based on what we know Tove made them based on her love and fellings when her lover was on a buissnes trip also Moomin is confirmed to be Bisexual by Tove

Omg thank you so much!! The assignment in my English class was basically to do a 5 min speech on whatever we wanted, but we had to try to convince the class of _something_ relating to the topic we chose. My brother was the one who jokingly suggested I do it on Snufmin, so you can thank him for that ;D I spent way too much time preparing for this but I think everything turned out ok! It _was_ the most fun I've had doing a school assignment! Mostly because it was super easy since I'd already been fixated on the franchise for a while before I did the presentation djdjjd Researching and scripting was my favoruite part >:))

It was a spur of the moment decision 😅 Everyone was asking if the wildest of subject matters were allowed for the assignment so I got the courage to ask if one on my hyperfixation would be ok and the teacher said it was! I think if you trust your environment and the people in it, then I think anyone would have the want to do something like I did on whatever they may like sjdjsj even if it’s something so silly like a fictional couple from an 80 year old book series

Yes! The original script was much longer and I focused a little more on what the books/comics had to say since they are direct source matetial. However, because of time constraints, I had to cut it down :"(( Still! I managed to get books excerpts into the final product which I was very happy about since they're super duper gay djfndkdkds Like Moomintroll really sees his midnight swims and talks with Snufkin when he sees the King's Ruby, which shows what a person cherishes most so likeeeee If you haven't read the books before, I HIGHLY recommend them; can't describe Tove's writing as anything but magical ^^

YES EXACTLY!!!! It"s so interesting that it's very likely implied Snufkin has found fimself admiring someone at some point, and that said someone is most likely Moomintroll. Maybe it's his emotional oppeness, or how he has a group of friends and family that supports him, or how he makes friends so easily... Makes you wonder what Snufkin admires about Moomintroll, exactly

Oh, i remember having rough time with my history exams few months ago, so i had to send my uni teacher some small informational pieces about culturally important people in history, whether there were vital for russian or world history. So it started pretty OK for a class stuff, two russian empresses, russian mathematician lady, Howard Lovecraft, and then. My obsession with Markiplier kicked in and i wrote a doc about him being the really important for cultural impact in modern world. So to conclude, i made it to the exam and passed it with bright colours!! She accepted Markiplier as a culturally important hooman!!

I think of someone presented this in my in class I would die on the spot (because I get second hand anxiety when other people share their interests lmao) (Admittedly I’m also in high school) Also this is actually a really good presentation dude :)

Oh god I was like :"( Seriously no mention of Snufkin being sad because there was no Moomintroll? The episode was alright, I mean I wasn't a fan of the Sniff plot but the animation was nice and Mamma was great as always :") Now, episode 2... I have mixed feelings about it. I wrote a whole ass essay on it, which you can find on my Tumblr @laecandraw (it's the pinned post if you want to read it!)

LKAJSHDAJKSHD I KNOW I KNOW-- I haven't finished s3 yet, but from what I've seen so far, I think that is it contextually canon at this point, but from extensive evidence (literally them having Snorkmaiden and Moomintroll get back together the second they appear on screen together once again aFTER THEY APPARENTLY MADE THEM BREAK UP FOR GOOD--), I'm afraid Gutsy won't make it so in MV19 T_T

Me as a Finnish person who grow up watching all possible Moomin media. I find this very strange. We´re talking about a children's book series with a fantasy hippo creature. But especially as the series has queer themes/symbolism. With Too Ticky and my favorite Thingumy and Bob. So I don´t believe this to be anything else than Headcanon. ( Like how people ship Pokemon characters )
