You still in Athens by chance?

I used to live in Neos Kosmos for 5 years and I loved the neighbourhood which was quiet and friendly. The most important factor was that it is close to the centre and you can use buses, metro or tram to get there, since I dont own a car.. If you are lucky and find an appartment..just enjoy the area..there are lots of nice open areas here and there to sit and chill but you have to search for them, and a lot nicer area is close by called Nea Smirni..have fun during the holidays! ( I had to install the airconditioning units at the appartment that I was staying so its not so bad, since I took them with me to the next flat once I left..)

I like the neighborhood. Like you said it has things going on and it is close to the center. Thanks! I can't afford to buy them so that is why I need them to be installed already. :-(

It was a beautiful day! I think they put them up really early since there isn’t another holiday from October 28. Why not! The shops don’t get super dressed up so it’s not over the top.

It is one of my favorite things about Athens! You are welcome. A few of my older videos have the one from Kolonaki in them.

I ended up in Kaisariani but I always liked Palio Faliro.

You should check out Nea Smyrni too. Jus take the tram a little further down to Agia Fotini

It’s really to far for me. The tram doesn’t run frequently enough to make it a good form of transport yet.

That street market looks great. All the food looks so fresh!! What a beautiful day there as well. We arrive in Athens in exactly a week from now! Good luck with the apartment hunt!

We are still back and forth between Athens and Chania. We are going to spend 20 days in both places and then decide after that. At at this point with selling all our things and moving, plus not having been there for over 2 years, I think visiting is the only way we’ll have any confidence in our decision! Lol

@@agirlandherpassport yes and no. I got married and started a family so I moved to a more suburban neighborhood in the northern suburbs. Quality of life is better here and the suburban surroundings are far better for raising children. On the other hand I do miss the old friends. The place has changed a bit due to the metro and tram, I left when it was starting to become "trendy". I do not regret my decision though, and I can always visit.

No, but I am out in the middle of a work day and most young people are at work during this time.

8:33 a very good choice if you had a time machine and could go back let's say 30-40 years ago. I agree on the air-conditioning part.

If only! With temperatures above 40 several times this last summer, I just isn’t a luxury to have anymore unfortunately.

@@agirlandherpassport Nowadays it's an essential appliance for an average household and in Athens you have to search a lot to find an apartment without one anymore. How about your state? is it that common as well? isn't hotter than here?

@@giannistatsiopoulos331 Well in Texas we have central heat and air conditioning so they always come with it. No one would even build a house now without them as no one would buy it. Housing is very different here than in Greece.

Nea Smirni is too far out for me. I don’t have a car and the tram isn’t frequent enough yet. Although I think that might change. We will see. Kallithea has the same issues.

@@agirlandherpassport ok maybe I'll send it to your email address instead. It's an apt in neos Kosmos that a friend lived in for a few months. So I've been there and it's nice but no balcony. It's newer and on first floor. Great location and I believe he was paying 500. I'll double check that and send the landlord link to your email.

Yes they did. At the time, you could also present a test but now it is only for vaccinated people.
