Honestly...the combat would be 100x better with a few of little tweaks: 1. zoom the camera out a bit more 2. give some sort of warning indicator that you got an attack coming in from off camera 3. ANIMATION CANCELING that last one is the biggest

@@flowers.n.felonies Honestly, the camera zoom out is mostly to allow for better view of enemies off camera, but some sort of indicator of an attack (ESPECIALLY A RANGED ONE) coming from off camera counters that real easily Even with max FoV it is still a little close for my liking, but I like to have my camera zoomed way out when there is a lot going on on screen Personal preference, I suppose

My favorite thing about Godfall is how they released a demo for PS+ that sends you straight to the post-story content and skips ALL of the story.

I installed that and was going to give it a shot, because the game looked good, but once I realized it basically skipped you to later in the game at higher level, it killed all my interest in even trying it.

For anyone coming into this wondering why this game has so much hate, allow me to explain it simply: grossly overpriced, overly buggy launch. $60 base, with $70+ editions, for a game with near-constant frame-drops and regular hard-crashes. It didn't have much content to offer at the time, either. Ouch. Since then, the game has fixed practically all but the most persistent bugs, added some more (albeit not quite enough) content, and dropped the price, but the damage was (is) already done. Price tags set expectations, and Godfall, as decent as it honestly is, failed spectacularly. Watch Skill-Up's review as an example. It was rough, and no punches were pulled. I 'expect' Gearbox to be mostly responsible. They are the publisher, so they would decide dead-lines and pricing, but I can't say for certain. I'd say it's worth around $30. 'Maybe' more if you have the money to spend. It not, look elsewhere. It has some honestly cool ideas I haven't seen in other brawlers/hack-n-slashers, such as the soul-shatter and polarity systems, but yeah...launch was truly fatal to its reputation, and they haven't added enough to turn it around.

It was somewhat recently given away for free on epic. I installed it, played for 30 minutes, then uninstalled it. It was incredibly mediocre and boring, but it looked great. Kinda similar to a $100 an hour escort in like Las Vegas or something.

Ultimate Edition just released on xbox for $30 and it has a 4.4 out of 5 rating. Xbox community is giving it the love it never got right now.

Except games like Destiny and Warframe acually have content.... Making an endgame looter is pretty tricky, and many who have tried in recent years have absolutely failed. Like Anthem, Godfall, etc. They just can't seem to realize that the other games succeed where they fail because they have CONTENT to play. You can't have an ongoing endgame without a bunch of different fun activities and worthwhile loot. That's why games like Destiny succeed, and Godfall fails.

I love how they released a version of Godfall that was basically the endgame. You got all your warframes and all your abilities unlocked. Pretty much just killed the grind.

They released the low-end frames. They all had plenty of quest to lvl them to exhalted. You can grind this game for weeks and still not have the right gear. If you haven't completed the first 2 towers, you really don't have a good viewpoint of this game. Thus, most people who complain about it didnt complete the first tower or have only like 30 hours in it. Which proves they didn't release end game anything.

The reason why it's called Godfall is because God saw it and immediately dropped it after.

I think this game is the epitome of good graphics =/= good aesthetics

I really enjoyed this game. Style and combat was fun and when it gets to high level some bosses and enemies on this can be intense figuring out there move patterns and hitting weakpoints.

I love watching Kev submit his friends to hours of psychological torture

I haven't played much of this game but what I have played, it was really fun

It's really interesting to see how people perceive the game now and then I personally had a ton of fun with it. Granted, i'm biased since 1) Melee combat 2) spears! I kinda wish Gearbox did more with Godfall, it had alot of potential especially when you got into the meat of the skill-tree and build crafting (post fixing builds so it's not just "choose what Damage over time colour you like") and the updates did do a decent bit for the content. But it's just not enough and it's sad :( We need more melee games

I like how everyone's covered with a mask so they didn't have to animate faces

I like how the version epic gave away for free a while ago forces u to start at max level and tells u barely anything about the game.

I picked this game up just a few days ago and frankly I can't stop playing it as I love the combat, still haven't finished the story but I do find it really fun and the idea of the world and lore is really cool to me too. Though it does have a few issues like how much damage ranged enemies do becoming unavailable in group fights. There's a few other things but there more nit picking rather than an actual issue.

I know this is 11 month old now but I wanted to add like others have said this is now a fun and enjoyable game that has a looter slasher gameplay loop where much like in Destiny you kill enemies they drop a color coded item be it a weapon or an accessory to help boost your stats and you repeat to get better gear. On top of that you have a kind of Warframe setup when it comes to the armors each one offering different styles of gameplay unique from each other. I haven't played in some time but that's ONLY because I've been doing other things or my internet which, is satellite based might make it impossible to play at times but none the less I beat the may story had fun the whole way and am working on the Dlc campaign now. So go give it a try if you like looting games, I hope you all like it.

The end game exalted tower will make you cry, you will instantly die unless you are geared up. I love this game, great grind with the new content

When he said its godfalling time and had fun all over the place, truly needs more battle passes.

I actually played this today because I got a series x a couple of weeks ago and so far, I'm having fun with it even with all of the hate it gets. It's just something new for me to experience 🙂

Don't listen to people who play the game for an hour and call it bad. The bosses later on are very challenging. So is the endgame. And the build diversity is very good. It's a solid loot based title. With infinite inventory and no micro transactions. It seems like most people just want to play a braindead game. This is not that.

Getting things free tempers your expectations and it’s easier to enjoy when it cost nothing vs people who paid $60 at launch

Regardless of the reviews and how bad the game really was, I always thought this was one of the coolest (aesthetically) game I ever saw.

It sucks that games that look this good somehow end up underperforming, both in bed and in game.

The problem with this gameplay style is that they have to balance a fast-paced and reactionary combat system with multiplayer and loot items with a wide variety of potential stats. This pretty much makes a lot of enemies either weak trash or damage sponges. It also doesn’t help that they decided to animation lock your attacks in a game where enemies gang up on you and most of them don’t flinch from attacks.

I probably could've gotten into this game, the problem was I tried it out through the free whatever-it-was-called version snagged from the EGS, which boosts your level to max, gives you endgame loot, and _doesn't include the base game._ I half-assed one mission and still breezed through it, and immediately lost all interest.

With challenger edition (the one which was free on epic games store and ps plus) doesn't give you acess to the story mode,which is forgettable,throwing you directly into the juicy part of the game: endgame activities,it's not that bad if you think about it.

Great grinding game with really fun combat. Keeth Lee worked on diablo games before he joined gearbox. And i like that he has brought that challenging modes into this game.

Maaaaan i remember when i got my ps5 on launch day WITH Godfall, i loved the visuals, but dropped the game after like 2 hours lol. But they updated the game a looooot since releace and it's really decent now!

Actually found this game to be quite fun after some major updates

First video 37 seconds in and I've already died twice of laughter great job.

It's actually a really cool game. The combat system is fairly deep, so is loot/character building, but you have to play for a while for it to really open up.

it's a super fun game. I have a overpowered build I spent about 5 hours grinding for. now I can 1 shot anything

just noticed this game is very like god of war, shield combat, chests that open if you destroy items in the map and etc

you should make your friends play fistful of frags, one of my all time favorite steam f2p shooters, I sunk hours into that game in middle school.

for what it is, it's still better than most expected. I enjoy it simply cause of the melee combat, it may be basic but it's still fun.

I play destiny so mediocre is my thing. This game looks kinda fun

Swordplay from this game combined with anthems flight mechanic but way less limited. And then also make a reason to play the game. That sounds kinda fun.

I got this game for free with my Radeon graphics card when I built my pc and I played it for a full 20 minutes. And it only crashed my computer twice! Fun game all around.

Honest after i beat the story a buddy told me about this video because he knew i was playing, honestly fun game (wish my pc upgrades got here sooner to play a higher qual) but i honestly did enjoy it. Macros fight though was too easy. These guys had alot of struggling tho XD funny to watch

I’m 17hrs into Godfall on my Series X & this is honestly the best ACTION RPG I’ll play in 2022 since I never played it on PS. Amazing worlds, combat, customization and etc. So much content. I saw and heard the launch 2yrs ago was bad, but the Ultimate Edition is def worthy of a $60 title which I nabbed for $30. 🤞 that this new updated version opens the potential for a sequel! ✌️

@@gri22lybear no I'm hating because its mostly stolen content and clearly a half made cash grab. It is just a mash up of already used systems and themes but they didn't even fully encompasses any aspect if you like it great but general consensus remains it was a $30 throw away title at best. If this had been released back in 2010 it would be pretty good but for a 2018+ release it was very much not worth 60 even for the ultimate which was just a bunch of high gear to try and make player stay longer. I only hate on games when it clear the devs had no love for the project. This is such a case. P.S. the broc meme is where he calls a rice ball a jelly donut. I wasn't really asking you if what you said was sarcastic I was implying that it was a hot take or paid advertisement 🤣

I got this game a few days ago cuz they added it to xbox, and I actually really enjoy it.

I'm hoping that there will be that one Brave modder who adds a few of these armors to Skyrim the aesthetic would just fit.

I actually enjoyed the game. Plus things died more easily when I was solo, seems multiplayer is messed up

I'd suggest checking out Barotrauma or Space Beast Terror Fright, the names of these games should suggest the kind of experience you'll get out of them. However they don't suck, they're quite good, actually, so not sure if they'll fit in this series. :P
