    “Nuclear bombs. Oh… Oh! I didn’t think it would do that much damage…” Is so very historically accurate

  • @benjaminmorris4962

    Sort of. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were chosen specifically to see HOW MUCH damage they would do and Tokyo was ruled out as a target as it had been the target of many bombing runs/campaigns throughout the war... Killing civilians is and was a war crime yet that was straight up the purpose of targeting those cities...

  • @IanBPPK

    @IanBPPK

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@benjaminmorris4962 they specifically targeted cities critical to manufacturing military infrastructure such as the Mitsubishi Zero engine and chassis and ammunition. Hiroshima and Nagasaki, while civilian cities, were entrenched in the military supply chains. The alternative would have been a bloody land invasion that would have seen the utter ruin of Japan as the Japanese military had planned for civilians to fight down to every last man and woman on the mainland, well evidenced by the extreme opposition the US faced on remote Japanese occupied islands. In fact, the death toll for US soldiers was so great that we are still distributing purple hearts made in anticipation of that invasion that luckily never came. I don't disagree that cities with civilians were targeted nor the disastrous effects, but on its own it leaves out much context that is critical to seeing the full picture.

    @@IanBPPK Yes. But Hiroshima and Nagasaki were also selected because of the high population, which would allow for us to know how much damage the atom bomb can do - which is why Tokyo wasn't selected as a target despite being the capital of Japan and all the military targets there(it had been bombed and burned to almost nothing)That is what I was saying. The sort of "f around and find out" part, which may or may not be so moral...

    On Oak Island, I like how the narrator ends every sentence with an upward inflection in his voice, thus, inferring a question. "A 16th Century copper button found in section 32 (inflection incoming) of the swamp?!?" That is not a question, mate.

    You actually didn't need the auto clicker. Under the green bug button on the top right, you can enable fast spawn. Then you just need to hold down the left button and it'll spawn very quickly.
