i just had my second last mocks of year 12. I only know 2 of my grades so far but I got an A in Maths and a B in Computing!!! (this is from a 6 in maths and CS)

1.) Dont listen to your teachers, mine told me not to do a-Level maths and that my type "only get D's and E's" 2.) Catch up on every GCSE topic you didn't understand which is core to A level (e.g completing the square) 3.) Spend about 1 hour a day studying just maths and watch GCSE maths tutors "A- level pure topic videos" they are really good I wish you the best of luck@@ayesha1041!

I wish u all the best for A Levels, youre going to do amazing in them. I found my mocks stressful (my mocks were in January) but im hoping and wanting to work hard and smart for A levels. I finish learning the content by Easter but hopefully i get to go through it quickly so that i can spend more time with revision for A levels

I sat my physics a level december mock while I had a cold, and similar to what you said in 1:40. I was not expecting to be thrown some hard questions that required some intuition. Some big questions I didnt not get to answer them properly because I had a headache halfway through the exam due to my cold so my concentration was pretty much hammered. I was close to getting an A*, but I ended up getting close to an A. Since the grade boundaries of last years physics papers were quite low. The problem was that my revision strategy just didn't seem to work for those kinds of questions being thrown in that mock. Having said that. I hope this is isn't a wafflely cliche paragraph, but heres my advice after learning it the hard way. 1. Prepare for the worst case scenario. Look at the specification and look at what or what not has not come up in exams in at least in a while. Make sure you know it inside out no BS. 2. Prepare to get stuck under exam pressure. Especially when it comes to say maths for example. And find ways to recover from it. Some people say practice but I'd say practice smarter. 3. Never be overconfident or underconfident. My further maths teacher had two girls in his fm class last year (when they were sitting 2023 papers) who were bright and initially got A*s in both maths and fm. And then in the real exams they got a bit lower than expected due to them being slightly arrogant and cocky. 4. When there's a hard paper, sometimes you just gotta take it on the chin. 5. Given exams are gonna be harder. Similar to what I said in 1.), I think it would be a lot more useful with look at examiners report on every past paper that most students get wrong and stuff. And if it's a topic that hasnt come up in a while and people struggle with it, the chances of it coming up in real thing is higher. 6. Do some questions blindly and take your time with some questions. Make sure you revisit them later if you even got it wrong or you got to know how to work it out. As simple as it sounds, the worst case scenario is that you did that question before and then when you walk into the real thing you forgot how to do that similar question you did before because you didnt go over it. 7. And lastly. Make sure you relax and a lot more chill. Pressure will always even the best of us, so in the time being find something that would make you a lot more calmer and relaxed. These points above do apply to gcse. I wish you best of luck with your exams and others too.

@@NoumanSami I literally had maths today and it didn’t go that well for me. But the difference was that a lot of people found it hard from what u said ij the vid. It was a 50/50 on my end. Some found it good and some found it bad. Well, let’s hope we both smash the final exams man

I got A*BC, need ABB for my firm choice (software engineering). The thing is in one of my subjects paper 1 was an A* and paper 2 was an E :( I think i got marked so damn harshly I knew the content front to back.

I got A* A* C in my mocks. I got the C in chemistry which i was initally upset about but I'm determined to improve my grade and work on my weak areas. Also the paper was wayyy harder than the usual A level ones edit: It turns out that I actually got a B in chemistry my paper was just marked incorrectly

Start with mixed exercise questions for every topic, then move straight to AS papers that’s it

Tbh I disagree with the GCSEs being harder to revise for than A levels. Most GCSEs (theory and question wise) are extremely easy to revise the night before and ace, as the content is basic and intuitive. With A level, there is so much synoptic links that there is no way you could do the same thing in one night. Even with 13 GCSEs vs 4 a-levels, the GCSEs will always be way easier.

In terms of raw difficulty I guess so, but the process of revision for a-levels has been much more enjoyable somehow despite the craziness it has been, and I'd take it over GCSE any day
