The angle at the centre is twice the angel at the circumference, so the centre rather had the be 50 and the circumference 100, I guess
Have you an idea? How can I solve this problem, please? Given a square ABCD of side 10 cm, and using the corners as centers ,construct four quadrants with radius 10 cm each inside the square. The four arcs intersect at P,Q, R and S . Find the area enclosed by PQRS. Thank you so much .

Thanks for pointing this out! I hadn't realised. That's incredible!
Example 2: It's much easier: ACD = 35°; because the legs of the triangle are the same lenght ACB = 90°; same reason (Diameter) DCE = 35° (Last theorem) FCB = 180° - 35° - 35° - 90° = 20°

In the question Find BCF isn't angle ADC and angle ABC equal because they are angles from the same segment??

in my revision guide there are 9 theorems
how did you know for the last example that the angle at the circumference was double that at the centre was applied to angle CAB and not ABC?
@1stClassMaths
3 ай бұрын
The angle at the centre and circumference must start and end at the same points. COB and CAB both start at C and end at B so they come from the chord CB. Angle ABC however comes from the chord AC.

It applies to all exam boards
11:54 is it not angles of the same segment? Isn't angle CAB and COB 58°? I'm so confused 😕😭 Or does it have to be on the circumference for the theorem (angles in the same segment) to apply?
@1stClassMaths
24 күн бұрын
For the angles in the same segment they both need to be on the circumference. I think you worked this one out yourself :)
8:07 The way I used is slightly simpler. ACD = CAD = 35º ADC = 180º - ACD - CAD = 110º ADB = 90º BDC = ADC - ADB = 20º BCF = BDC = 20º
@1stClassMaths

Thanks for sharing, although I am not sure it is really any simpler? There are often many ways to approach circle theorems questions. As long as you're clear it's all good!
