Here in FL they have a maximum $5 rake, $1 for promotions and $1 for high hand. It's outrageous. They don't even let you chop unless it's at the high end games in their version of the pit. Playing the $1/2 stakes, it's hard not to notice after an hour or two how almost everyone but maybe a person or two is down in large part because of rake.

there is a herd of Elk in the area, they're imported, but are thriving, You can often see em when you drive thru town up by the river, they will graze in the fields in the area.. hope you saw some of them.

You know Ben, you gotta lose the whining about AK. You say you can't win with it, and can't beat it. I think we can safely assume that anybody who always loses with AK and always loses to it would have a short disastrously unprofitable holdem career.

If you take a lunch break you have to check out with the floor. I think it’s only 45 min… Rake is killer but I love the action and up heaps over the last 3 years. The coolest thing is the Elk at the national park like 10 minutes from the casino… Great series!

This is where I play at on a regular basis and I would say that the weekends is when all the action is the best. Yes the 10 min pick up rule is crazy.

19:18 3 hour of no winning hand happens to everyone. What is worse, when there is a streak of 4-5 hours bad variance: #1) not playable starting cards, #2) missed flop regardless of hole cards #3) Opponents regularly hit their flop against me #4) being outdrown on later streets in the hand including bad beats! All these 4 bad variances can occur simultaneously atogether...lasting for hours, and several sessions in a row!! That's a poker. Surviving these is the key.

I’m pretty sure when Ceasars VA opens in 2024, that will be the end of Cherokee. It’s a brutal drive to get there as you laid out. Nice staff et al but games are super nitty.

Shows you the power of home felt advantage. Just like you and your regs slice and dice the tourist in reno, it is hard to play the lone wolf. You do have a chance being a good player though.

Bummer about your results at Cherokee. That's my home casino. I was in Vegas while you played there. Won the high hand over 4th of July weekend which was $2500 !

Now you can feel our pain. The rake is high, and the drinks are expensive. They usually don't rack you up unless there's a waiting list, that was surprising to hear. You have to see how good and crazy the cash games are when the WSOP Circuit is in town. They stop here 4X a year as it's the most profitable stop outside of Vegas.

AKdd paid me pretty well the other day. I won a $3000+ put when I got it all in after a 762 all diamond flop. 🎉

That dealer in the ending hand at the Peppermill was so pro, she didn't even wait for typical game action to muck the burn cards. Let's hope that doesn't come back to bite here one of these days.

I've always wondered how hard it is to maintain hand history in live games with 100% accuracy. Seems hard outside of highly memorable hands that stick out like sore thumbs, so I wouldn't blame you one bit for that graphics error. On another note, those cup holders are big enough for Slick's drinks? I thought his drinks were bigger than that. 🙃

the tables at cherokee are pretty much universally hated by both players and staff, and yeah the rake is pretty miserable but expected for the only poker room for like 3 states

It'a a decent room with good action. Halfway between ATL and Charlotte. The 2/5 and 5/10 is match a stack and the 5/5 plo is a monster game. Everyone is 1000bb deep and its not uncommon for stacks in the 10-20k range. During the series they run up to 50/100 plo

Maybe this country wouldn't be spiraling towards the abyss if so many men aged 20-50 didn't obsess themselves in the consumerist slop cycle that is professional sports fandom. even when your team wins it all you are only allowed a brief respite before a new seasons kicks off and you have to do it all over again. it's the most predominant conversation at the average poker table and it is embarassing

Gotta love those players I did the same thing with AK suited but this was in a tournament and get called in 2 spots after guy next to me rejams with AJ off a guy with 9 10 off actually makes the call and hits a 10 on the turn and wins the pot
