I have to admit it broke my heart when you took apart the headboard but I'm ok now because that is so pretty.

Absolutely wonderful! Never would I have thought an old headboard could add so much life to its reincarnation. Your mother will love her kitchen a gazillion times more with this brand-new hood vent cover.

It's absolutely incredibly gorgeous but looking at the details at the bottom I can't help thinking about cleaning it in the future :D

oooh, Danie, I haven't even watched the video yet, and I'm so excited! so I have my childhood antique bedroom set that has lived it's last life. So, I am converting (well, I WANT to convert) the dresser into an enclosed litter box cabinet by using the drawer fronts as the front cabinet doors. Think: Trompe L'oeil. The front will still LOOK like it has two drawers, but they will open like a cabinet for removing and cleaning two full-sized litter boxes. Now the dresser has a 'secret bottom drawer' which I will fully line and protect, which will hold the boxes and contain litter spill over etc. On one side of the dresser, I'll use my handy-dandy (and by me, I mean my son) jig saw to cut out a cat door for not only MY little lady (who hates me btw), but the THREE gentlemen I just adopted from my mother who is unable to care for any more. (Anyone in South Texas want a super great, well loved cat who mama just reached Stage 4 Altz and just can't anymore?) Anywhoo.... The footboard... Already in my Kitchen! I used the top of the footboard as a shelf behind the kitchen sink! But seeing this project. And the fact my entire kitchen is freestanding, turn-of-the-previous-century-inspired-Victorian inspired? You BETCHA the headboard is going to be a venthood! You are still my hero! Always thinking of you and always watching... Hugs!

I can find myself absolutely LOVING this in my home, but I honestly don't see myself MAKING this. Brilliant, beautiful job Danie! 💜

What a creative idea! That hood thing looks stunning! Very well done!😍 For me, it’s kind of clashing with the modern cabinets, but maybe it will blend after the curtains and decor choices. Hope we get a final reveal.

Yeah, it's kind of disjointed to me. I will hold off rating this until the backslash and countertops are completed. Right now, I don't see it being cohesive with the flooring, or anything else in the room. Let's see what happens.

The idea is good in a kitchen whose theme or style coordinates with the hood cover. Otherwise, it's just an eyesore, especially in the modern style that is dominant in your kitchen.
