Adult nerd is my entire house's aesthetic.. so that it looks put together and grown up, not kitschy, and is a cool "easter egg?" for people who know. IYKYK! This content is 100% up my alley 💜

54 year old lifelong nerd, here. Saw the original movie 7 times in the theaters when I was 8 (twice in German). Loved this episode and the subtle way you brought in your love of Star Wars. May the 4th be with you!

My absolute favorite quote: Han Solo : A Jedi Knight? Jeez, I'm out of it for a little while, everyone gets delusions of grandeur! I’ve embraced decorating my living room and kitchen with my fairy, dragon and unicorn collection from childhood. I’m getting older and I want to be surrounded by things that make me happy and remind me of who I am. 😊

My favorite Star Wars character is Yoda. My favorite Yoda quote is "In a dark place we find ourselves and a little knowledge lights our way." As a child abuse survivor this spoke to my soul.

I would have even gone so far as to write, “These aren’t the drawers you’re looking for.” on there! Luke has always been my husband…since I was six and first saw him on screen. Even now he takes my breath away anytime he’s on screen. Love Yoda too. When I first learnt Photoshop, I took a photo of the paddocks at sunrise outside my front door and put a Star destroyer overhead with the Falcon and some TIE fighters and X Wings flying about. There was a burnt out car up on my verge years ago and I put the Wampa behind the wheel. I took all the photos at the SW exhibition in Sydney.

We must be of a similar age. I remember what a revelation it was. And like Danie said, you just have to get through the first 3 (I, II, III, not the first 3 released of course), though the first (I) wasn't too terrible.

My favorite would be Yoda with " Patience you must have my young padawan"😊

My only criticism is that this is so creative and used so many different ideas and materials -- put together perfectly -- that it doesn't feel like anything I could ever do! The original piece was nice and interesting. Now it's just wonderful. And yes, the framed Tatooine poster works perfectly! You are truly an artist.

The drawer insert is really fine, and the other idea inspired from the game board is nice too ! I can feel, overall, the desert, tatooine vide ! This nerdy flip looks great in your living room ! I DID NOT trust the process. I admit I was eye-rolling. As someone who hasn't watched Star Wars past the ones that came out long, long ago when I was a teenager, I was muttering about the quality of the film dialogue if those were the choicest quotes available ... and I immediately tense up when "shabby chic" or mock industrial vibes are part of a project ... BUT I SHOULD NOT HAVE DOUBTED YOU! The graphic quality of the script looks great and the subtle curve of the original hardware in enhanced AND you gave it just enough "shabby" to take away the flatness of a chalk paint finish. Really well done and it looks wonderful in your space.

I agree with your assessment of how the piece will go over with people. Either they will understand it, or they won’t notice that it says something in a different language. That’s the cool thing about it, it doesn’t look kitch unless you understand what it says, and then you appreciate the kitch.

That little cabinet looks great! Just the right amount of "distressing" too. Some people do too much and make the item look like it was dragged behind a truck through a gravel pit. My favorite Star Wars quote is "Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter." Favorite character is a toss up between Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker.

I love geeky design for adults! We're geeks our whole lives, not just until we're 20 or whatever. I remember (barely, ok?) seeing the very first Star Wars movie in the theatre with my dad. Yes, I'm ancient. And I still want walls covered in nerdy crap. I don't care if people don't approve of my LOTR coffee table or my TARDIS teapot. We are multi-faceted diamonds!

A tip on the drawer slides Minwax paste wax. Will make the drawers slide in and out smoothly.

Spray painting the vent made such a difference.

Im so glad you had "hello there" on your list! I feel like its too vague for most people. Another of my faves is "we're doomed."

The flip is incredible, but MAN I am shocked at how much of a difference spray painting the vent made! Definitely the right call to make. Love it like always! 💕

I saw the first Star Wars movie at the drive in when it first came out. R2d2 and Cp30 and Chewbacca get my vote. 😊 I am all for personalizing our homes. My husband encourages me-- like when I replicated the bindings of my favorite books on my stair risers.

I LOVE what the dry brushing added to that piece! As a nerd, the Star Wars alphabet warms my heart and makes it so special, but even if someone (Lord forbid) had never seen nor heard of Star Wars, it still looks like a really cool piece! Painting that vent black was absolutely what needed to happen also! I fell in love with your channel because you are crazy good at making the nerdy things my family and I love look classy and chic enough to be extremely proud of! That takes some creativity and I am learning so much from you! I am doing a whole house reno and I found you in the nick of time before I tossed all the nerdy things into storage and you inspired me to work them in and embrace them, thank you SO MUCH!

Star Wars fan since I was a kid. Feel in love when I saw the first movie in theaters back in the 90s. My favorite has to be R2D2 and then Yoda. I really enjoyed this episode, you’re a joy to watch and start my Saturdays watching your channel. And watching the process of the lettering with circuit was so satisfying. Along with the entire process of this piece.
